Different Times?

Whenever someone makes the argument for some sort of social "change" being mandated or enforced through the edicts of government I am inclined to ask "To What End?".

Exactly when did this issue or that concern or some grievance of the mind become so important that all of society must pay attention NOW and take steps to amend our ways? How and when did we become so evil and uncaring?

The answers to these questions are irrelevant.

Why are they irrelevant?

Because the underlying premises that give rise to such questions are not based on any reality of our world but rather on the ideas and world views of venal grievance mongers whose methods are to pander to and inflame the the weak minded, self flagellating and perpetual misfits and malcontents of society.

Underlying each and every one of these calls for change is a failure that is not a failing of our society but failed ideas and individuals who cling to those ideas in desperation. Their desperate need is to seek accommodation from all of society rather than to deal with their own failings. To be sure, many of these sort view themselves as rebels or revolutionaries fighting for some ephemeral concept of justice. There is however nothing new or revolutionary about any of their thinking or actions.

For those of us who question the dogma of the malcontents or the motivation of panderers we are often told either that it is our views that are lacking depth and integrity or that we are simply living in "Different Times". Different times require different ways of doing things and different attitudes. Don't you know? It only follows then that we should adopt the views of those who reject the successful foundational ideas that actually allowed our society to grow and prosper! RIGHT?

Hogwash!

The only thing different about these times we live in and any other time is that the voices of the malcontents and the rabble that they influence have been on the ascending path. They shout louder and complain more bitterly while otherwise good and reasonable people cringe and look the other way. Those of us (with few exceptions) who should be strong enough to say "ENOUGH" are distracted and unwilling to engage the lunatic ranters. Those who should be supporting honesty strength and character are trying to keep out of the way.

None of that is fundamentally different from any other time in our modern Western Culture.
It is just the same old shit being shoveled from the Aegean stables. The job is never done and it never changes. There is no Herculean solution. There is only the work of keeping the streets clean and the foundations of the world free from the undermining vermin.

The foundational priorities of our society were never wrong. They are the basis for success and prosperity for all. The only people who dispute this are perpetual misfits who never will be satisfied.

Times change they say! And the more they change the more they remain the same.

Tim Blair   of the  Daily Telegraph (Aus) has hit upon a successful meme to identify and describe those loony lefty fems and effeminates who make a career of hysterical outrage.

Much like the "Moonbat" label that was so effective in deflating the sanctimonious lunacy of hysterics of the last decade. Tim's campaign in Australia seems to be gaining traction.

After all the "reaching out" and kowtowing to despots and thugs around the globe, after insulting, failing and even deliberately obstructing America's allies in matters of international and domestic interest, how can it be that there is anyone at all who believes that Obama acts in America's interest.

What Obama has done is to embrace and empower America's enemies. This malignant narcissist has his own priorities and his very own "allies" and partners. Obama's partners and allies are America's enemies.

Post Election Ontario

It seems appropriate in the wake of yesterday and the Ontario provincial election that some mockery of the residents of the GTA ensue. That very large sucking noise that is now being heard from the direction of  Lake Ontario is just the sound of the City of  Suck pulling the big chain on their own Crapper! And so .....


(A tale inspired by the prose of Fenris Badwolf and an old joke about a certain separatiste .....)


So as the story goes it was by sheer coincidence that two Canadians were on a Caribbean cruise somewhere in the Caribbean regions where many Canadians like to go to get away from Canada.

It so happened that on this one daily Rum Cruise there was a mighty Caribbean storm that may or may not have been caused by Global Warming or Climate Change or David Suzuki or Al Gore... not that it matters which if any of these things caused the storm anyway.

The upshot of this storm having happened on this particular day was that it surprised the Captain and Crew of the Jolly Bugger (which was the name of the boat that took Canadian tourists on Rum Cruises every day)... the captain and crew being particularly surprised because they just happened to be wasted on magic mushrooms and Zig-Zag which they did not share with the Canadian Tourists and therefore had made pigs of themselves with thus becoming really wasted beyond the capacity to react to a storm.

The result of the Jolly Bugger being caught in the storm was that the boat and the crew and the passengers were all wrecked (as if they were not in the first place) but the wreck ended up on the shore of something like the fabled Island of Gilligan. Although there were no Ginger, no Marianne, nor any professor, skipper, millionaire or his wife. There were no coconut phones or palm tree contraptions. Not even a shitty little leaky hut to get out of the wind, rain or sun.

All there was on this island was one Canadian tourist from Toronto and one from anywhere else in Canada who both had miraculously survived when all others had perished. Truth be told that all the other passengers had discovered the crew's magic mushrooms and Zig-Zag as the crew had panicked and being pigs themselves gorged themselves before the storm eventually killed them all.

And so it went that these two who neither had nor could have anything in common other than an arbitrary designation of being Canadian did not cooperate or get along nor could they stand the sight of each other. In fact the only thing that kept one from murdering the other was the fact that they were both wasted ... from the Rum Cruise and from being wrecked in the sense that having your boat ripped to shreds and all your fellow travelers drowned.

As the days passed they tended to avoid one another and it was merely a matter of coincidence that they bumped into each other at the exact spot where a MAGIC LANTERN was lying in the sand.

Being Canadians and used to living in a fantasy version of life they of course knew immediately what this meant and what they needed to do. And so ....

After the rubbing of the lamp the obligatory Genie of the Lamp appeared and explained to them the rules for wishes that applied to this particular lamp. Being a particularly fair minded Djin the genie explained that because they both had found and rubbed him he would offer them TWO wishes each but not three as is the usual arbitrary number.

And so it went that the Toronto Canadian was quick to grasp at his entitlement and demand to be taken back to his beloved Toronto where all things were bright and beautiful.... and while he was at it that the Djin should make a wall a thousand feet high to keep out all those other ungrateful Canadians who were not from Toronto like this fellow who had been troubling him here on this island ever since the boat wreck.

And so ... the Djin complied!

The less demanding other Canadian who was from someplace other than Toronto waited to be asked what it was that he wished.

And when the Genie inquired .... said: "You know that wall the other guy asked for?" Yes! ... said the Djin.... "Can you fill it with water?"

And so it was that all of Canada other than the part of Canada known as Toronto was delivered their fondest wish by the clever and unselfish act of one Canadian tourist who was not from Toronto.

BTW - he also used his second wish wisely.

Crazy People - Guns and Dead Police

In the news today .. all day and incessantly ignoring every other Canadian news item:

Moncton Shooter Kills Three RCMP .....

Of course the headlines invariably blare about GUNS and Cammo clothing and FaceBook sites critical of police and government. After nearly nonstop coverage from Wednesday till now all the supposed NEWS has done is blather on with conjecture, non sequitur garbage and ignorant opinion.

Although the reporting has "evolved" into headlines about "Priorty" the fact is that the media remain profoundly clueless about any pertinent facts and the RCMP are looking like a bunch of damned fools as they lock down a metropolitan area of about 70,000 people. As I read these reports it seems as if the police (RCMP) are geared up to start barging through doors of every home and building in the area. No doubt this will be followed up by the arbitrary confiscation (theft) of legally owned property (fire arms).  That is if recent history has taught us anything about the mindset of the militarized domestic police.

Which brings us to the question of just why someone would grow and nurture such a hatred of the police and the government?

Seems to me that there is a self perpetuating cycle of belligerence going on and while one might feel pity for a mentally disturbed kid who takes it to heart, there is no excuse for the forces who are supposed to serve the public to be harboring the unrelenting animus they display.

Meanwhile the venal and biased media will be ramping up an all out effort to generate more anti-gun hysteria. Just stay tuned and watch it all play out as the "experts" are trotted out to spout such nonsense without regard to facts or public interest.

Fuck the Media.
