Today ... while watching some news on TV ... I was informed that the media circus in Toronto City Hall is all Mayor Rob Ford's fault.

In other words ... "We came here because that fat guy made us. We are forced to act like assholes and we're not leaving because he won't give us what we want."

Is it any wonder that I have ZERO respect for reporters and their masters?

If I was a reporter .... I'd be going after the clowns at the TorStar for the story of exactly how they came to see what no one else seems to be able to see.

In other news ...   Venezuela ...  the perfect socialist state, where confiscated oil wells cannot support enough of an economy to keep things like toilet paper on the shelves of stores.

Apparently, some enterprising individuals managed to gather a pile of  2,450 cases in a garage. State police got a tip about this and raided the site.

No word is given on what they did with the TP stash. Although it is not illegal to purchase or own TP in Venezuela ... the current value of the commodity probably makes it more likely that the police will manage to keep it (it will disappear) for themselves. Asswipe deprived Venzuelans will not see the precious stuff on their local store shelves.

Sweden Attempts to Defend Itself

The current and ongoing riots in Sweden and the refusal of police and politicians to act has begun a  movement of citizens who realize that they must defend themselves and their cities. Unfortunately ... and quite predictably ... they must also face the hostility and force of the very authorities who are supposed to protecting them.

This sort of moral inversion has already has already started to happen here in Canada as well. The refusal of police to arrest rioters in G-7 protests, in Occupy protests, in aboriginal occupations even in cases of hockey hooliganism are just some of the examples of our public servants refusing to do what they are paid to do while in turn abusing the power granted to them by taxpayer by turning on lawful citizens who demand what they are absolutely within their rights to demand.
 
We have clear examples in our own country and our own communities that politicians, bureaucrats and public servants will readily and criminally attack decent citizens rather than be forced to do what they are actually paid to do. In fact it seems to be the preferred choice when faced with making the decision of whether to enforce the law or silence criticism. All this occurs again and again with the nodding approval of social elites and the obscene cheerleading of the media.

The assault on  lawful citizens is simply more prolonged and blatant in Sweden today.

Guitars and Politics

Four years of abuse of office by Democrats. Political influence in US regulatory and enforcement agencies. Was Gibson a test of their abilities?

Gibson was targeted by DoJ in 2009 ...   for violations of  the"Lacey Act" concerning the purchase and import of woods from "unauthorized" or banned sources. The act itself is a complicated mess that depends on both arbitrary designations of endangered species and environmental risk in addition to specious local regulations created in the regions where the specialty woods are sourced.

Besides the apparent over reach of regulators through the auspices of the US Fish and Wildlife Service, I thought at the time that this ought to have been a problem for the every US based guitar manufacturer. In the course of watching for further news in regard to there was no evidence  that Fender or any of the lesser string instrument makers were facing ay such investigation or charges. The subsequent failure by Gibson to successfully fight the charges in the legal realm and their eventual admission of guilt seemed to put an end to it.

It turns out however, that others have been keeping an eye on that story and there is now a theory that seems to fit with that very unequal application of the law and law enforcement.

In light of the recent exposure of US Government agencies systematic targeting of POLITICAL opponents to the Obama government and the Democrat party, it does not seem too far fetched that as early as 2009 in the first year of the Obama administration, that we find evidence of politically motivated attacks on American business and individuals. And so, it turns out that the executive management of privately owned Gibson were Republican supporters while at least some of their competitors were substantially supportive of Democrats.

The Power to Investigate Serves What Purpose?

The power given to law enforcement agencies is intended for the service and protection of the public.

What sort of government abuses this authority to protect their political image?

The government that is being directed by Barack Obama and his cronies it seems.

I noted in an earlier post ... the justice dept. of the US went a long way and way out of the bounds of their authority to snoop on journalists from Associated Press. I speculated that perhaps AP reporters were onto something that would be embarrassing to the current administration, however it turns out that the motivation was something far less important.

As it turns out ... the fawning and subservient (to their Obama / Democrat) had been playing ball with the administration over a story about a supposed terror plot that was successfully foiled by the CIA. The media had been been given a premature notice of the story and had been sitting on that information, supposedly waiting for the go ahead notice from the CIA.

Meanwhile, the White House had bee planning to make a Public Announcement of their own. Supposedly, this would be a PR win for the Obama administration amid the rising public disaffection and the mounting failures of this government. The administration requested AP to hold off for one more day under the pretense that it was still a national security issue, in spite of the fact that the CIA had already completed their work and released the information. The White House plans were spoiled however, as the AP decided to release the story.

Once the story was released by AP, the Obama administration had a temper tantrum and sent the Justice Department to conduct an intrusive and likely illegal investigation into AP reporters activities, including the acquisition of telephone records over a span of two months.

What this boils down to is that the news media were playing ball and the government agencies were doing what they were supposed to do. The politicians in the White House tried to make political points using same information and the AP told the story first. There was no security issue and there was no illegal leaking of information.

The Justice Department under Eric Holder acted as political tool for the administration and laws were broken to satisfy the needs of a group of corrupt and self serving Democrats in the White House.

This is what the Obama gang do to people who do not play ball with their POLITICAL agenda.

These people in the news media are the ones who have given Obama and Democrats a free ride up until now and I have NO sympathy for them. Perhaps now that they have been shown so clearly ... just exactly where they stand ... they will have a different outlook on their place in the game.

Keystone Cops and Clowns In the Media

Last week there was a passing story about a gun battle that ensued when Gatineau police raided a bush party.

Let's be clear ... the entire media establishment repeated the STORY that the Gatineau police were in a  GUN BATTLE with unknown persons during the course of that raid.

Ahem ... it turns out that the "gun battle" consisted of a lone female officer shooting herself in the leg.

Honest ... someone really did shoot me!

Police spent hours questioning over 30 people who were at the party. At the hospital, doctors became suspicious of the officer’s story when they discovered the bullet was fired down into her leg. Police checked the officer’s gun and, surprise surprise, they found one bullet missing from the magazine.
The Gatineau Police Department released a vague statement on the matter, saying they could not “confirm or deny” any details about the story. Referring to the self-inflicted shot, a police spokesperson said the department is “looking at the possibility that she did that to herself.”
The officer is in the hospital waiting to have a minor surgery performed on the wound. She was said to still be in “shock” and was unavailable for any interviews or comments. Although police haven’t concluded their investigation, you’ve got to think this unlucky officer has some disciplinary action coming her way. 

Not surprisingly ... the actual facts have received far less attention in the follow up to this prat fall performed by the Gatineau police and the Canadian news media.

What was it that Mike Duffy did before he became a senator? Oh yeah! ... he was a reporter.

See the quote I put on the blog masthead?

I put that there in the first few months of the Obama "reign" because I had an idea that these words by that fat headed little twerp would come to be prophetic. Of course, the pronouncement was intended to describe the implementation of wide ranging plans by the neophyte executive in chief. However, I had no illusions about the abilities or motivations of petty martinet Obama.

His words made it plain to see that he and his cohort had every intention of  imposing their own agenda regardless of any opposition. It was only a matter of "timing" and tactics to them from the start. Arrogance in full form.

It was never any surprise to me that events would culminate in calamity. From the construction of the presidential appointments throughout all areas of government ... recall the "Czars" ... to the policy dictats from the White House instructing even private enterprise and private citizens how to conduct their own business.

A brief  list of those actions:

• The co-opting of federal agencies through presidential fiat.
• The assignment and encouragement of rabid ideologues to positions of power.
• The perversion of purpose in agencies responsible for the service and protection of American citizens.
• The abuse of federal office to bail out corrupt and failed enterprises such as General Motors and Wall St. financiers.
• The enabling of left wing social action groups that exist for the perpetuation of  class and racial grievances.

Drunk with  power and the sense of their own importance Obama and the Democrats proceeded to build their house of cards. So much for "planning" .... the rush to impose their agenda on the American people took precedence over any thoughts of caution. Of course there never was any consideration for the legal and fundamental rights of Americans. Laws such as the constitution were treated (and continue to be) as mere impediments to their desires. Along the way there have been many casualties and many insults to the America people.

It was never a matter of whether or not "they would all crash" but only a matter of when.

What For?

The imagination might run wild when thinking of secretive and broad government actions on the interests of News Organizations.

So it might be a bit shocking to hear about the US DOJ ... that'd be Obamagube's pal Holder ... has "obtained" about two months worth of phone records from the accounts of Associated Press and their employees.The probe covered a period through April and May in 2012.
Naturally, AP is severely Pee-O'd about the fact ...

"In a letter of protest sent to Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday, AP President and Chief Executive Officer Gary Pruitt said the government sought and obtained information far beyond anything that could be justified by any specific investigation. He demanded the return of the phone records and destruction of all copies."

 What gets me here, is that AP ... if anything ... is one of the staunchest anti-conservative and pro-progressive/liberal news fabricating organizations to be found. They can be trusted to telegraph the current administration's spin on any matter ad go that extra mile when it comes to reporting actual news with just the right amount of filtering and touch up. Seemingly without any need for prompting or guidance.

Which brings the question ... "Just what were they up  to to get the intransagent Holder off his ass?

Could it be that they were involved in something terroristic and possibly harmful to the USA?
Nah!  That's just what Obama and company want.
Could it be that they were involved in something criminal?
Nah! The Chicago Jesus and his pals would just move in and take their cut... or take over without any hoopla or public notice.

My guess is that they have been looking into something the Obama gang has been up to. Probably something that could get the Chicago hoods in real trouble.

Electronic Evesdropping .....

Some of you maybe aware that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg made his billions providing investment services and information services to investment firms.

The managed data service provided by Bloomberg LP consists of data terminals for brokers and traders and their agents that are networked through the Bloomberg information management service. The subscribers to the service pay as much as $20,000 a year for each terminal depending on the information feeds and connectivity being provided. Brokers  access market data and news feeds through the system and have access to trading facilities. There are statistical and historical data tools and facilities for direct communication and data sharing between users.
The data terminals are used by just about every bank, financial services company and trader in the USA.

Bloomberg also happens to own a news organization.

It has come to light that reporters working for Bloomberg News, regularly and over a period of years used an internal access to the the customer data system to  monitor the activity of those subscribers.

One thing you can be sure of is that when you make those who rely on the fantasy of political correctness to face any of the uncomfortable truths which they studiously avoid ... you are going to get some kind of reaction.

I actually don't know why Nial Ferguson felt the need to mention the personal idiosyncrasy of JM Keynes except that there is a point to be made about the priorities of self absorbed degenerates with malfunctioning DNA.

I guess that point stings just a little too much for the liking of certain media and academic types.

The one thing that gave me hope for my generation was our cynicism. We might not believe in anything, but at least we wouldn't believe in everything. We might be apathetic, but that just meant it was harder to enlist us in causes. We didn't just march to the beat of our own drummer, we questioned the need for having a drummer and a beat. We were burnt out on everything and done with it all.
Of course it wasn't really like that.

Never mind the actual facts behind the AG's staged media presentation yesterday.

First of all the attention grabing comments were taylored for the headline addicted know nothings of the media ... and secondly ... the  underlying supposition that a AG report should include even information that was NOT asked for and NOT required to be reported until later in the year.

Thes two consideration ... deliberately unconsidered by the AG  and wilfully ... cluelessly ignored by your moral and intellectual betters of the press.

Except for the fact that an even greater outrage has been committed by the Auditor General in the preparation and staging of a report in a manner that is a baldfaced effort to justify expanding the mandate of another civil servant's sinecure.

I am all for the AGs office being thorough and unimpeded by politicians ... but this is in no way a matter of the bureuacrat being either stonewalled or interfered with.

It is nothing but a self serving attempt at self justification for more arbitrary power.

In Canada (well Montreal) ....   Is busy decrying that apparently the "Tea Party" is as they say, silent on a matter of some half baked wanna be politician's heritage.

Cruz was born in Calgary in 1970 to an American mother and a Cuban father — an immigrant to the U.S. during the Cuban revolution — while the couple worked in the oil business. The Cruz family returned to the U.S. when he was four years old; the senator grew up in Texas.

Well actually it's not the job of the "Tea Party" to point this out. Not any more than it was Their Job to point out the questionable pedigree of Barack Obama. 

The fact is that it was and should be the business of the Mainstream Media like the clowns at CP and the Montreal Gazzette and all the rest of the LIberal media to observe and report on those facts.

So get of your high horse you bunch of clowns and do your job. While your at it you can stop complaining about the fact that others either Do or Do Not take it upon themselves to pick up Your Slack.
