William White was fired from his job as D.C.'s insurance commissioner one day after he questioned the president's proposed healthcare fix ...

White  said on Friday, one of the mayor's top deputies called White into his office and told him he was being let go. "The only thing I was told was that the mayor wanted to go in a different direction and my services were no longer needed,” White said in a telephone interview. "I was asked to leave on Friday and I did."

When asked if he thought his firing was directly linked to his statement on healthcare, White replied, "Anyone who looks at this can draw their own conclusions. My statement came out on Thursday and by Friday [at] 4:15, I was out."

Bill Blair should be FIRED for using his position to influence public affairs.

If anyone ... ANYONE ... out there thinks that it is proper or even legal for police to release information about ongoing criminal investigations and name the subjects of those investigations without having made any charges, then it should happen to you.

There is more shit in the city of Toronto than the clown show at city hall and a lot of it is in the offices of the police service. Especially on the "... burnt rose high back, angled before a coffee table on which the latest crime statistics sit..."

Blair who is a hard line opponent of legal gun ownership was responsible for sending out squads of armed goons to force their way into the homes of dozens of legal gun owners in the city under the pretense of public safety. This was done under the auspices of a totally invalid statute passed by the former left wing mayor of the city David Miller.

Blair was also responsible for the incompetent security actions during the G20 event in 2010.
The Toronto police stood around and watched as armed thugs vandalized and destroyed property at the outset of the protests. They followed this up over the next few days by assaulting and arresting ordinary citizens instead of the organized protesters.


Any one of these failings should have resulted in his firing ... so far nothing has.

So just what is it that this power tripping political activist, posing a  law enforcement official, wants to "finish"?

The folks at Health Canada who run the "Marijuana Medical Access Program" look like they may be sampling the goods. Putting out information letters to 40,000 program clients with the program department identified on the envelope addressing.

The program participants are guaranteed anonymity because it is medical service.

An excerpt:

This week the 50-something medical marijuana grower and patient was stunned when she received an envelope in the mail from Health Canada with her name, address and the printing for anyone to see: "Marihuana Medical Access Program."
"I cried at my mailbox when I saw that, it was so upsetting. I have never been so embarrassed. I was in a panic,"

Health Canada confirmed to QMI Agency Thursday the woman was one of 40,000 to receive informational letters on upcoming changes to the Marihuana Medical Access Program.
In a statement, George Da Pont, deputy minister of Health, said he had been advised that because of an administrative error the envelopes were labelled to indicate they were sent by the medical marijuana program. "This is not standard Health Canada practice. On behalf of Health Canada, I deeply regret this administrative error. Health Canada is taking steps to ensure this does not happen again." 

The woman is concerned that someone who saw the envelope at the small post office could talk about it to others, making her and her husband a target for thieves looking for marijuana or a subject for public ridicule.

"They used to be discrete. I believe with the program ending they don't really care anymore. They put us up as a target," she said.

Breath, Blood and DNA

The US government agency -NHTSA- is in the process of conducting what they describe as a "Survey" to gauge the incidence of impaired driving.

This survey apparently is being conducted in 30 US cities and involves local police service personnel  pulling vehicles from the road and confronting drivers with a "request" to submit themselves to breath analysis and to provide both blood and DNA (saliva) samples. Once a driver has been forced off the road they are presented with a list of "options" for compliance with the supposedly voluntary screening. However, what they do not know is that as soon as they roll down their window, a device held by the agent/officer has already taken a reading  of the air in the car. They have no way of knowing this unless they read a waver in the document (small print).

The mind boggles at the outrageous behaviour and arrogance of the NHTSA which is conducting the program and the local police or other agents who are willing to break the law to implement these tests.

Flummery: Meaningless and deceptive language.

I've been trying to explain to people for years the reality of the global temperature for the last 10 thousand years. Both atmosphere and ocean temperature histories are misrepresented by the climate change hucksters who have consistently ignored data that negates their claims while misrepresenting other data to support their biases. 

Lately they and the news media have glommed onto some data about ocean temperature history and come up with this chestnut:

In a reconstruction of Pacific Ocean temperatures in the last 10,000 years, researchers have found that its middle depths have warmed 15 times faster in the last 60 years than they did during apparent natural warming cycles in the previous 10,000.

Not So!

 As shown clearly in the graph that was a part of the documentation in the study discussed in these reports, the little red circle highlights the period from the mid 20th century to present that the frauds are using to justify their hysterical claims. When the interval is viewed in a closer perspective of six hundred years (1400-present) the slope is obviously less than several events in that period.

When you take a look at the larger 10 thousand year graph ... the scope and the precipitous rate of historical changes in ocean temperatures is even more apparent.

I short ... the article that is cited in various media and being cheered by the hysterics and climate fraudsters is being entirely distorted (lied about) and there is no justification at all in the data for any of the outrageous claims being made about "unprecedented" change.

Bad enough that "know nothing reporters" and media editors use this type of inflated nonsense to promote sales of their dreck to an uniformed and mostly uninterested public. The fact that these so called scientists are willing to do the same is a disgrace.

The fact that political leaders allow themselves to be influenced in policy or to politicize these matters  based on the flummery of activist frauds and pig ignorant news media is outrageous and unacceptable.

• An available land mass of 298 sq km.
• Exports about $280 million and imports about $1.4 billion with a foreign debt of $890 million.
• Now hosting more than a million tourists per year (presumably due to all the flap doodle over "sinking").
• Nasheed brags that the Maldives can handle many more.
• There are 200 populated islands in the atoll plus 80 islands that are tourist resorts.
• There are currently 9 airports, 7 with paved landing strips.
• There are 88 km of road (no data on paved vs unpaved), crushed coral seems to be the material of choice.
• There is ONE marine port (Male)
• Native water consumption is 18,444 liters per year per person for all uses. 
• Native fresh water aquifers are depleting and being contaminated.
• There is not enough water to support the current native population let alone an expanded demand from development and tourism.
• 100% of all materials for development are imported.
• Power consumption is up proportionally with the surging demands to support the tourist services and the construction taking place.
• The only source of electrical power is petroleum fueled generators.
• Non existent environmental protection standards.
• Still demanding payola from UN for the presumed environmental sins of the developed world.
