Fact Checking?

I'm in favour of it .... and John Berman at ABC should be commended for it.

Now how about applying some of that journalistic diligence to the Obama administration!!

What Goes Around.....

Misguided revenge.. ?

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say a fire has been reported at an Islamic center near Oregon State University in Corvallis. No injuries have been reported. Authorities tell The Oregonian they are investigating the cause. The fire erupted two days after a Somali-born teenager and former OSU student was arrested and charged with trying to blow up a van that he believed was loaded with explosives at a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Portland.

Well .... let's just see where the "peaceful folks" try to lay the blame for this one!

Fix Bayonets....

Like the author of THIS POST ! .... I've been mocked and insulted for my opinions and for daring to throw facts in faces of progressive nitwits who are in the habit of repeating nonsense they have received as wisdom from fools who know no better and liars bent on self serving mischief at the expense of us all.

Fix bayonets indeed .... and stick em right in the lefticle's soft spots.

Snake Charmer ?

(AFP) - NATO is a "military mafia," the war in Afghanistan is "genocidal" and US President Barack Obama deserves the prize for the "best snake charmer" who ever lived, Cuba's Fidel Castro said Monday.

OK .... every once in a while .......

Nobody is safe.

Velma Hart, who burst onto the media scene after telling President Obama she was scared about her financial future, has been laid off. Hart was let go as the chief financial officer for Am Vets, a nonprofit Maryland-based veteran services organization.

"It's not anything she did," said Jim King, the national executive director of Am Vets. "She got bit by the same snake that has bit a lot of people. It was a move to cut our bottom line. Most not-for-profits are seeing their money pinched."

Our Happy Socialist Paradise

Awake now people and shout down those who would deny us our dream life.

Trouble is coming to the paradise of Manitoba.

The evil conservatives are raising their ugly heads in defiance of the people's will to challenge the rightful rule of the caring party of EnDePees.

Fortunately the righteous union of nurses has sent out the alarm and warning pamphlets to remind the peaceful peoples who may have forgotten (or perhaps never known) that Chief Evildoer ... Hugh McFadyen ... plots to overthrow the nurses from their rightful place in setting health care policy.

Good thing too ... because fellow peasants it is not as if our heath care system has not improved drastically in the last 12 years!

Oh yes! And be greatful too that Christine Melnik has awoken from her dream life of raising donations for libraries and attending teas at seniors homes. Yes, the mighty Christine has risen to don her battle garb and have her picture printed in many full colour pamphlets that will strike fear in the hearts of evil mongering conservatives in Riel.

Also the mighty leader ... the ever upright and honest .... Greg Selinger has arisen!

One can only hope that soon the war cry will arouse the Teacher's Unions and the CUPE unions and MGE unions and the student unions ... so that the great majority will will dominate and silence once again the rank noise of the individual, the self reliant centered, the haters-bigots-racists - homophobes-knuckle draggers. Yes silence once and for all those pioneer invader and thieve Manitobans who would deny us our rights! Who would let us freeze and starve as we beg for the return of our warm nanny's lap. Who would expect us to ...horror of horrors ... face up to our responsibilities.

No doubt ... this means that for certain .... we will remain as safe and secure as we ever were in this socialist paradise from the frightening evils of conservative thoughts .... conservative practices .... and conservative policy.

Because ... as we all know .... those things would make our lives so much worse.

Friday's Beer !

I've been on a date with this Belgian beauty before but I can't find the pictures.........

So just like it's the first time .... let's say hello to Blonde beer from Abbey Malonne of Belgium.

A clear golden body that bubbles like Goldie Hawn on a Rowan and Martin special.... she fills my happy glass with effervescent joy.

A whiff off the top gives a first taste of sweet yeast and lemony hops.... a pause and the second delivers banana skins with floral spices and a caramel pastry back in the kitchen.

Yep ... over the lips and onto the tongue she goes... with a kind of bake shop melange that is so very mouth watering . A hint of that lemon zest and honey like wildflowers that feels like cream on the palate.

A clean floral finish .... and in we go for another!

To bad the bottle is so small (330ml) ... moderate abv @ 6/3% is ok ... but just ONE small glass is not the way to go .... It's like bringing your date home before the hour of doom.

Cheers!

On Revisionist Thinking ... The Malthusian Assumption

While catching up on the environment science blog Greenie Watch I found this article on the proponents of "limited resources' theory and the natural extension of this "enforced population control"....

An article by Brendan O'Neill (excerpt below)

Of course, the Malthusians have learned from their past. They have learned from their earlier dalliances with eugenics in the 1930s and forced sterilisation in India in the 1970s, and from their complicity in the development of China’s one-child policy in the 1980s; they know that population authoritarianism is not popular. Women don’t like being told what to do with their wombs, and men don’t like being forced into vasectomies. So modern-day Malthusians have adopted the language of ‘reproductive choice’ and ‘female empowerment’ instead. But this is deeply, deeply disingenuous.

Because when you promote family planning on the basis that too many children will destroy the planet, on the basis that women are creating future pollutants, on the basis that our offspring will turn into planet-rapists, then you are not giving women real reproductive choice, which is something I fully support; no, you are giving them an ultimatum. You are instructing them that if they carry on breeding, then they will be responsible for natural disasters and carnage on a Biblical scale. That is coercion; it is an invasion of women’s free will. And it is the end result of a misanthropic outlook which says that the worst thing a human being can do is create another human being.

Brendan O’Neill is editor of spiked. Read his personal website here.

Yep they are wrong about everything because the core assumptions made to support their ethos are false.

By extension and for the same reasons the fellow travellers ... those who have adopted the Malthusian doctrines to their political and moral views .... socialists, feminists, environmentalists and other such "ists" .... your modern liberals and your progressive sorts .... always wrong about everything.

Coming to an Avaricious Nurse Nanny Local Government Near You

ASSET or something like it....

The use of photo-radar and other systems is on the rise and your local government probably thinks that is just great. (Mine sure does.)

Just imagine a world where every inch of your progress along public roads is monitored and measured by data collection and analysis systems!

By integrating commonly available information tools and roadside imaging systems it is already possible for anyone with a few bucks and the will to do so ... to know exactly where you are in a vehicle at all times.

In Europe there is already a propaganda campaign to sell the implementation of these systems.

Follow the link to see the language used to cultivate a positive perception of what amounts to government spying on citizens as they go about their business.......

Here's a example:
The aim of ASSET is to contribute substantially to the improvement of safety in the field of sustainable road transportation.

ASSET will generate, process and provide important road safety information from essential system components.

Improving driver support, awareness and behaviour is a key issue.

This will be achieved through an advanced sensor/processing network providing assistance and information for drivers, traffic control agencies and infrastructure operators.

Another aspect of this sort of development is that the systems can be further co opted to take control of your vehicle. Using the on board control systems that are already built into all modern vehicles it is simple to take over engine and transmission functions. In some new vehicles there are already collision avoidance and maneuvering assist programs that can steer and direct a cars motion ... effectively removing the driver from the control system loop.

It's only a matter of time before governments begin legislating that these systems be made accessible to external controllers in the interest of "public safety" and then the steady erosion of control by you over when, where and how you drive will commence in earnest.

Remembering

To those of a revisionist bent who find the month of November to be ripe with opportunities to spin their warped perspectives....

As each year passes the connection to the terrible events of the 20th century becomes weaker and for many has already been lost. The number of those who put their lives on the line to defend our way of life is diminished and eventually there will remain none. Only those of us in succeeding generations will remain and this should not be taken as an excuse for failure to keep the facts and the reasons for these sacrifices alive and at the fore of our consciousness on at least this one day.

Having been divorced from the direct reality of two world wars and those numerous other events is no excuse for ignorance or willful disregard. Neither is hiding behind a facade of politically correct faux morality about the evil of war. Too bad if it makes you uncomfortable to think about such things. The very fact that you have the luxury of indulging in self gratifying and plainly selfish behaviours is in fact due to the sacrifices of people who went before you.
If you have no memory to sustain then educate yourself and learn to show some respect.

What I remember...

Mostly I remember the stern instructions from my parents prior to our walk to the memorial each November 11th morning. Be respectful they said. Show your friends and neighbours that you care about what they have lost and how they feel. Remember that many people gave up their own lives to ensure that you can stand here as a free person. Remember that you live in a country of hope and opportunity and that is so because of the sacrifice of others. Remember that by showing your public respect for the dignity and honour of those sacrifices that dignity and respect is reflected back on you.

I was not there in the horror of war. I did not experience the terror or the blood or the pain. I did not struggle in the filth and cold. But I do remember to respect that someone did.

Sometime Last Week

While we were out celebrating the asskicking of the US Left in the midterm elections....
China quietly set the stage for the next big step in their progression to the premier golbal economic influencer.

Seems that as France Prepares to assume the chair of leadership at the G20 (Yeah I know France and Leadership in the same sentence ..... ) They have already been taking bribes from China to influence and promote an agenda that the Chinese desire.

Yes ... that France .... or Fwance ....

From AFP

PARIS — France and China signed major industrial deals worth 20 billion dollars on Thursday at the start of a lavish state visit by Chinese President Hu Jintao, cementing previously strained ties.

Hu also threw China's weight behind Sarkozy's goal of using France's upcoming presidency of the G20 group of economic powers to reform the global financial system, the French leader's other big priority for the visit.

The contract signings kicked off a three-day visit by Hu that France hopes will result in a massive boost to its high-tech manufacturing exports.

Friday's Beer !

Blackfriar Premium Scottish Ale

From Inveralmond Brewery ..... seems like an old friend but I cannot find a post on this beer.

Ah well ..... The glass looks like rich copper slightly off to brown and the head sits tall and crisp over the bubbly bod.

The perfume is floral hops and citrus over malty caramels.

The first taste is bitterish like grapefuit but the finish mellows out smooth and creamy. Each new draught from the tall glass produces the same effect right down to the bottom.

The beer pairs up nicely with cheesy pasta and pub grub ... even sweet coffee cake with caramel!

500ml @ 7%abv makes for a satisfying quaff.

Now I remember .... I met yersister Lia Fail and yer brother "Ossian".....

Cheers!

Quit or Fired ??

Today the big news is NOT another BC pol quitting ..... even if it is the premier of the left coast.
Nope ... today I get to relish the end of the man I most resent holding office under the banner of Conservative MP.

Yep ... Jim Prentice announced his resignation... don't really care why but I'm sure there is going to be a fair amount of speculation.

Is it because he actually is the biggest fool in the CPC?

Is it because he was put in the untenable position of playing the watermellon in the Harper cabinet ... against his wishes? As some people have speculated ... acting out the wishes of the PM to pander to the libtarded nitwits who think taxing our natural resource production and consumption even more that we do already is a smart thing?

It would be insufferable to be forced to spew the nonsense that Jim Prentice has been barfing up for the last couple of years. But ... I've always had the impression it was his very own idea to spew environmental and economic nonsense.

But why would a bank want such dufus?

Oh yeah .... insider stuff.

The truth will eventually become apparent .... and eventually my opinion will be either confirmed or proved wrong.

As it stands ... I think we are well rid of this phony green liberal CINO.

I think that PM Harper finally had enough of the fool and his ridiculous pronouncements.

And ... I'm hoping it's the beginning of a change in the Harper strategy that will entail firmly embracing principled common sense values and policy positions.

A Good Day to Be On The Right Side of Things

Well ..... any day is a good day to be on the right side of things .... but today is especially good.

Take note Canadian Politicians .... conservative and commie..... you think it can't happen here?

That will be then just one MORE thing that you are wrong about.

BTW .............. someone asked about who is responsible for the rout of Democrats in the US?

Suggesting things like Palin....Beck ... Limbaugh... and such ...?

Wrong .... it was the Dems and their lunatic left wing.
It was also the arrogant Washington establishment of both parties and it was the hubris of the MSM in never once thinking that they are no longer relevant in the big scheme of things.

King makers no more .... I'll have a beer today to celebrate that.
