Obama's Respect for Constitution, Supreme Court and Congress

You know the same kind of institutions he's got problems with at home!

On Honduras it's a slam dunk...

Obama has decided the Castro/Chavez take on the situation was best: reinstall President Zelaya.

Early on June 28, members of the Honduran military temporarily arrested President Manuel Zelaya. Within minutes he was on a plane bound for Costa Rica. In San Jose, Zelaya denounced the military's intervention as a "coup d'etat" and a "brutal kidnapping." The military's actions, while swift and arbitrary, came after President Zelaya defied virtually every Honduran political and legal institution and propelled his citizens to the verge of polarizing violence. Zelaya's swift removal from Honduras probably saved many lives.

Yep that's what lefty scumbag wanna be dictators do!

Obama likes Zelaya's style and wants him BACK in POWER!

Just like Hugo Chavez.

You could call this a glimpse of things to come.

That Long Hard 70's Hangover

If There Was One IOTA of Risk in Any Nuclear Power Plant

Even if it was imaginary and far into the realm of hypothetical. It would never get approved in California. Even though this state has destroyed it's infrastructure for electrical power through decades of failure to invest and when investing doing so mainly in things that don't work without subsidy, they still seem to be like lemmings that have overpopulated their patch of turf.

In THIS CASE it seems that there just might be a tad more than a hypothetical risk. With a thank you to !NoPasaran!

Of course to those so deranged in their desperation to find solace in these worried and hysterical times it might not be that they want to hear any doubts or questions regarding their choice of personal flotation devices.

Certainly the Bay Area folks should have a semblance of memory about a little thing called a fault line and things known as earthquakes. Of course the 8 years of BDS that has been running through the population combined with the euphoria of having the Anointed One on earth, may lead to a new urgency in desperation unlike any they have known before. The image of sinking rodents clutching at floating straws.

You know it must be good times for people who hate the USA ...... all they have to do is sit back and watch the fools destroy themselves.

Hope and Change !

Things The MSM Don't Talk (much) About

Things like:
  • Their declining revenues (and relevance)
  • Their overt political bias
  • Obama's Failings
  • Bloggers
Well I'm pleased to say that earlier this week we had a fine example of ONE article from AP that highlighted the fact of at least three of these issues and shed light some reasons for the first.

As I pointed out Here there was an interesting thing happened at the Obama press conference earlier this week.

They solicited in advance a question of a left wing blogger.
For details see more Here !

Now aside from that matter of who was chosen and how or why we have little or no insight offered by the AP report. Aside from some suggestions that point to some rather obvious sore points for AP. I get the sense that the reporter felt a little miffed about the relative preference afforded the blogger. Much was made in the article of the fact that everyone says there was NO advance discussion of what the question would be. In such a manner suggesting that should be a question. And concludes with a little snipe about the ethics of posting the press conference transcripts in Farsi and Arabic ... a contradiction of earlier protestations from the white house of keep neutral and not actively interfering.

Personally ... I'd like to know if the origin of the question was even from an Iranian involved in the protests.

However the question "... whether Obama would recognized Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's re-election, or if such a move would be a betrayal of protesters."

Leads me to believe that the person who did put it forth had the same mindset and literacy of you typical reporter. (not a good thing) Even if it was some anonymous citizen journalist from Iran it is one of those facile sort of interrogatives that are so often cobbled together on the spot by journos trying to appear deep and also to squeeze two separate questions into one. While, hoping to force the desired answer through what they believe to be clever maneuvering. (It's not even if it works on some dim wits who forget to remember the boiler plate.)

The first part seems like a very obvious thing that those in Iran especially might like to know.

The core of the matter ... Is Obama going to recognize the results of the Iranian elections? ... seems to be a pretty important thing.

For the second part it would seem boil down to whether or not Obama would feel that doing such a thing would be, "A betrayal of the protestors."

In plain English then: Are you going legitimize the reelection of Mack the Maddinnerjacket and throw us under the bus?

The Obama answer to that question, however worded, was pretty much "You are on your own".

Now, the thing is that although this weasel worded reply is nothing of a surprise to us it just might be the kind of thing that people who were really concerned about what happens next in Iran would like to have with a little more substance provided.

And so the story behind the story is what has happened in the MSM since this conference.

Firstly - there has been very little if any mention about the blogger's participation, the SOP for MSMers who feel they can marginalize the new media. ( It won't work.)

Secondly - The MSM has played up the other portions of the Obama statements and ignored this question and this response completely. (As far as I can tell.)
According to the MSM Obama is all tough talk on Iran now! Yeah sure he is... hot dog day at the US embassy still has the Iranians on the guest list for just one little thing.

Never mind the complete burying of this response:

"Ultimately, the most important thing for the Iranian government to consider is legitimacy in the eyes of its own people, not in the eyes of the United States," Obama said, repeating a familiar refrain. "And that's why I've been very clear: Ultimately, this is up to the Iranian people to decide who their leadership is going to be and the structure of their government."

Precious!

Yes down the memory hole if the MSM has their way.

I suppose there are a lot of reasons why the mainstream news folks don't want to point out how juvenile the white house is in matters of world importance. After all they spent so much effort making GWB to be the buffoon .... they presumably should spend as much effort making their boy out to be not to be.

In any case it goes on and on .... the neverending effort of the MSM to shape the news by controlling what is reported and how it is reported.

Funny thing is that their boy Obama looks just as willing to throw them under the bus when it suits him.

I wonder when they'll realize that just being willing tools isn't doing them so much good.

Obama White House Texting It In to Iran

Surprisingly ... Associated Press reports on this:

The White House WASHINGTON (AP) — White House officials phoned a blogger from a popular left-leaning Web site on Monday evening to tell him that President Barack Obama had been impressed with his online reporting about Iran. Could the writer pass along a question from an Iranian during the president's news conference on Tuesday?

Irony on a number of levels

Read the whole thing!
for the question and answer! Aside from the piss poor effort of CP to actually report the question, The Teleprompter was too precious ... Throwing Iranians Under the bus... of course ... At least they should no longer be under any illusion that the Obama White House is going to do anything substantive for them ... not even offering moral support.

I like this part :
"Given his substantive contacts and reporting in Iran, answering Pitney's question seemed like the best way to communicate to the Iranian people....."

OF COURSE!
Being a lefty sycophantic tool had NOTHING to do with it !

Once In A Few Years ...

I get sick.

Not just snot blowing or allergy miserable sick ... but head pounding mule kick to the back of the neck sick.

It started on friday this time .................a back of the throat sinus tickle that produced an intermittent cough that would not be stopped.

Saturday was a teaser with everything seeming to clear.

Then ............. Sunday 4 A.M. the rude awakening.

Said mule caressed my cranium and I was taken by a fit of coughing that would allow no air into my lungs due to the windpipe being swollen shut with inflammation from the toxic products of my sinuses.
Some time spent with my head under a hot shower loosened things up enough to ingest some suitable meds.. and I made it through the morning.Further medication and a day spent on the couch got me to bedtime. Only to repeat the process this morning.
Had to phone in sick ... which I hate to do just on general principles.

Good thing the US Open held the final round this morning otherwise I'd have Had to watch daytime TV of some sort. Too bad it didn't start till sometime after 8am.

BTW ever seen a 1955 movie titled The Sniper?

The gist of the story is that a mamma hating girly man can only relieve his pent up hostility by killing women. A semi gripping psycho-thriller that holds up pretty well until the police psychologist starts lecturing the SF cops about his thought that "If Only" the disturbed (twisted MF) boy had gotten the correct medical attention as a youth he would be AOK and a few dozen women would still be alive.

Personally I was hoping the cops would punch the doc out and shoot the crap out of the Moffo girly man sniper.

All those years the MSMers have been crying that it's unseasonal warm temperatures...

All those years it was hoped by some that this was a sign of the apocalypse.

All those years it was because I drove a full sized truck and an SUV or used too much electricity or some reason calculated to instill guilt.

All those years it was somehow ... someone's FAULT .... Even though My Parent's Iris's bloomed before MAY more often than not.

Always reminds me of good times and good people to share them with.

Of course there are other opinions as well:
Beer Advocate
Good Beer Blog

This golden clear lager pours with a nice white head that settles out very quickly.
The aroma is grassy and hoppy with a tinge of lemon and just a slight hint of malts and yeast.
The body in the glass is very clear and has a good effervescence that keeps everything lively.
The flavours are just slightly floral and bitter hops and a touch of malt. It feels refreshing on the tongue and finishes with a nice aftertaste that leaves me looking for another.

If your looking for something different she's well worth the time!

I saved this one for a day when having more than a couple ..... a nice warm day when you can appreciated the effect of a well iced lager.

And of course no matter what your drinking tonight ..... Check out Darcey's picks of Blues and Brews .... eh! Over at The Broom!

The S#!t List!

What is wrong with our Happy Socialist Paradise?
Haven't we cared enough about the right things?
Are we not creating enough productive government jobs to make life better for everyone?
Did we not lay out a plan for developing our Hydro-Power resources in the best possible way?
Have we not created enough protection for workers?
Are our roads not taken care of?
Did we let someone's pension investments go down the toilet?
Did we not do enough to keep people from seeing it happen?
Did we not do enough to protect the guilty?
Have we not created enough policies to make every one well and safe?
Are the folks in the education business not being pandered to enough?
Are we allowing some child to go through school without having given them the correct perspective?
Do we not preach social justice like the religious endeavour that it is?
Have we not explained well enough how increased debt and dependency on handouts is balanced budgetary management?
What about Medicine?
Are we not spending enough?
Have we not funded enough bureaucratic managers to ensure that all Manitobans get the very best health care?
What has happened to our auto insurance?
Have not enough immobilizers been installed into intransigent car owners vehicles to make car theft disappear?
Have we not taken enough out of the MPIC bank account to force them to be efficient?
And what of crime?
Are we not being nice enough to the underprivileged and the marginally social?
Are our social services not doing enough to prevent parents from influencing their children?
Have we not taxed sinners enough?
Or need we invest in more casinos?
Have we not established enough rewards for mediocrity and have we not done enough to punish those uncooperative business owners and investors?
Have we not PROMISED enough care and facilities for caring and caring people to care for those who need care?
Have we not put our very best people and strongest minds to the task of managing our social services?
Have we not led the way in undermining those who oppose our progressive ways through manipulation of elections policy?
Have we not allowed those who have made mistakes with public trust and public funds enough chances to get it right?
Have we not acknowledged the rights of enough people who because they are not born of hateful white ancestors are undeniably victims in need of our attention and care?
Did we leave someone out from under the big tent of our social progressivism?
Did we in some way accidentally leave something that was working untouched?
Did we DO something or Change something that we must now pay for?

Why are our lives not perfect in the Utopian way that we were promised?

The Last Election ?

There was never any doubt that the Iranian elections were a dog and pony show to create an impression of legitimacy for the powers that be in that Islamist theocracy. And the fallout that came with this last one is only confirming what any thinking person already knew.

I've been wondering how long it would take Amaddinnerjacket and his cronies in the state militia to forget the pretense of democratic intention.

The fundamentalist Mullahs who actually do call the shots may even be getting upset with the power that this little fruitcake has manged to grab for himself. But that's too late for them.

Look for something like another Khadaffi type regime soon where ever increasing braggadocio propels the power brokers into one outrage after another. The current reaction to election protests in Iran is just the thugs putting the pot on the stove. They'll soon turn up the heat and the first to get cooked will be the activists who have spoken out.

Watch for moves against the mullahs too. When those guys become the target of his militias, for whatever excuse, then the power shift will be too far gone to stop.

Keep your eye on the little freak for more posturing and threats to the regions outside Iran.

Watch for the military buildup near the Iraq border and the Afghan border as well.

Our Happy Socialist Pardise ...

May be showing some discord?

One of the favorite themes of the Lefto-sphere is that conservatives harbour some mysterious and sinister hidden agenda. Scared silly that some cabal of socially conservative types ... like Stockwell Day for instance are holding back ... just until they get the chance to do some evil stuff to cramp the liberal-progressive sort of life styles that depend on freedom from any kind of consequences and usually a healthy dose of taxpayer largess somewhere along the way.

Well I take the view that the hidden agenda thing is the fundamental backbone of the socialist political and activist types.

Always hidden behind the benevolent and caring sounds of the lefty pol, is the unstated and inevitable consequence of following their path.

More often than not the consequences include some form of meddling in the lives of people and far too often some unwilling concession forced onto the public as a whole. These concessions are typically in the form of some loss of freedom and a surrender of what has been traditionally a personal choice and a right of individual conscience given over to the forces of meddlesome state apparatchiks.

Often too it seems that while we are distracted by one or another of these never ending impositions these same folks who have postured as our moral and intellectual betters have been busy feathering their own nests.

For my part the only surprise is how long it takes for the general public to figure out that the people who make their way into your lives by making their Utopian promises are not going to deliver. Further, that it should be any surprise that they turn out to be nothing more than manipulative opportunists.

And so it is with the Manitoba NDP.

While Some People like Winnipeg blogging sleuth The Black Rod have taken notice right from the get-go.

Others seem to find the need to strain their credulity and credibility in their efforts to deny what is as plain as the nose on your face.

Our local and not-so-local media types would be a good example. Where for as long as there has been a lib-lefty pol around to pander to or carry water for have been Johnny on the spot.

Deny, obfuscate, attempt to confuse and misdirect. That is the way the Free Press and others like to play it when it comes to our NDP.

While Doer's Dippers have failed to achieve a single goal stated in their policies or promises the MSM hasn't noticed. While project after project has been bungled. While every public administrative branch of the Provincial government has bee mismanaged. While no area of public service has escaped the meddling of the NDP and no area of civic responsibility has been administered with competence. While boondoggle after corrupt boondoggle has been entered into and promoted without ever a consideration for the consequences. Where have the media been?

Well, to be blunt who cares anymore? Local TV? Let it die the death it deserves. Local newspaper good riddance. Where the current incarnations of the 5th estate have failed and met their fate others will come forth and learning from those failings succeed.

But for the politicos of the left?

Soon too, for them the days are numbered.

In spite of all the facile maneuvering, the election rule changes that just so conveniently have always been imposed on the opposition well in advance of the NDP, the not so subtle limitations on the rights of individuals to support the political entities that choose in the manner they choose. In spite of the decades of below the table double dealings that somehow always manage to benefit the political fortunes of the Dippers and the financial well being of their loyal supporters. In spite of the massive and complete incompetence in governance. In spite of of the self serving "public service" unions who have held a special place in the heart and at the hog trough under the NDP.

And mostly in spite of the gullible fools who choose to believe the tooth fairy promises of the NDP and whose willful blindness has allowed them to sustain their grip on our society for not just one, not two but THREE consecutive turns at the trough.

In spite of all these things ... the chickens eventually do come home to roost.

Bwaaaaak......

Mr Diamond reaped the reward of having been in charge of Barclays Global Investors, the fund management arm of the bank, for six years.

During that time he used £6million of his own money to buy shares in the investment firm.

In total, Barclays Global Investors executives are sharing £365million after the company was sold to the U.S. fund manager BlackRock yesterday.

Never mind that the deal he put together is worth over £ 8 billion ......

Friday's Beer !

Meet ... Biolegere!

A snappy little brew from the Brasserie Dupont, Tourpes Belgium.

No need to go into the circuitous route this beer took to arrive in my happy glass!
Also no need to reiterate how I feel about things labeled "Green" or "Organic" for no special reason.

I'll stick to what this beer is and has to offer .... and that is plenty. First off, despite the labeling and the market hype from the bottler there is nothing any more or any less organic about this brew than 99% of what I buy. The green credo and organic stuff is hype and nothing but hype.

So is the beer any good? YES it is!

The tiny 250 ml bottle contains a lovely white - ish brew that pours out with lots of energy to form a pure white head of crisp foam. The icing on this cake does not last long and before I could get a couple of good whiffs off of the glass the topping settles down into a memory.
There is some shmutz in the bottle bottom, left behind as this beer is unfiltered ( no that does not make it organic or green) .
The aroma off the glass is very organic however, with crisp lemony scent over top of grassy meadow aromas. The very first puff from the freshly poured glass gave of some roasted malts but that must have been pent up in the bottle and now escaped, gone like that white froth, never to be found again.
The body in the glass is cloudy pale honey in colour.

On the tongue this brew is smooth and clean tatsting, just a hint of bitterness that goes with the hops and finishes by leaving a clean and refreshed feeling over the palate.
I finished the glass in about 5 sips and by that last couple the taste seemed to have gone flat along with the body.
I can't say whether that is characteristic of this beer ... but it's not a deal breaker in my opinion.

Id be happy to buy six or twelve and enjoythem chilled on a hot day maybe with some BBQ'd snacks. Or just relaxing on the patio.

Worth another try at least and if you have a yen for light and mostly tasty beer .... for you too.

Cheers!
Maybe I'll see you over at Dust My Broom FNB&B

"What left me slack-jawed was the fact that she, like the cohort of mainstream journalists she represented so perfectly, was so ideologically blinkered that she could not fathom the plain fact that the liberal media were presenting the news and the world through a particular lens. The idea that it was particular, and that there might be competing ones, perhaps even superior ones, was beyond her ken."

I recall one of his studio audience participation numbers back in the last century.

Don't Know Much

A popular theme about Obama these days is that he don't know much.
He didn't know that his pastor of more than 2o years was a racist white hater who cursed his nation.
He didn't know that his family friend and political mentor was a domestic terrorist who cursed his nation and plotted with other socialists to overthrow America's elected governments and murder it's citizens en masse.

He doesn't know that he has relatives who are criminals or had parents who were marxists.
He doesn't know that when black people commit racist acts they are still racist acts.
He doesn't know the Constitution of the United States of America.
He doesn't know how his backers broke the law ( Oh Boy and how!)
He doesn't know where he was born or where his birth certificate is.
He doesn't know how to balance a cheque book.
He didn't know and still doesn't quite a few things about History or science or Other Countries or Religions or Economics or International Law or about people he wants to put into positions of power and influence.
He doesn't know who are friends or enemies of his nation and he doesn't know how to deal with either.

He does not know what his responsibilities are.

Oh my ... but this list could go on ...

But in the immortal words of Sam Cook He KNOWS that if you could only love him too ....

What a wonderful world this would be!

With My most sincere apologies to Sam and his fans!

I just couldn't help but hear this as the theme song for Obama's empty head act.

Feverish excitement in the MSM at the prospect of making hay at the expense of conservatives.

Feverish excitement amongst LIberal stooges and Dippers alike.
Plenty of quotes in the MSM. (mostly feverishly excited quotes from LIberal stooges and Dippers)

I think I'll send the CPC a couple hundred bucks.

That Irresistable British Charm ....

Marc Landers is an American expat living in the rapidly devolving Britain.
As such he is inundated with the nonsense and propaganda of the leftarded British media.

Stemming from the kerfuffle created by a Tennessee Burger King franchisee it seems much of the lefty MSM is a state of confusion. Even in Britain some jerkoff journo finds it too much to resist. And so armed with the assurance of his inate superiority goes looking for redneck fools.

Here's an example:
"So I decided to see if a little English charm could draw the evidently coy MIC out of its shell and, to my surprise, I was patched straight through by the operator to J.J. McNelis, MIC's marketing president. What proceeded was one of the more memorable calls I've made as a journalist. "

Read the transcript of the call and you'll see why it was memorable. Read the whole thing but here's a snippet.

In first person by Brit media Mutton Head ...

"Me: But "Global Warming is Baloney" is certainly a different sort of message, a more political viewpoint?

McNelis: I would agree that it's a viewpoint, but not necessarily a political one. But we're not sheeple around here, and while Barack Obama would like to have you believe that no one is entitled to have a view other than his, if someone wants to stand up and say "Global Warming is Baloney", then I'm all for it. It doesn't matter to me, whether I believe in it or not. They have first amendment rights to say whatever's on their mind. And nobody dictates otherwise."

Here's the full story from the Guardian..

Friday's Beer!

Yeah I know what you're thinking .....

But here's the deal ....

I've been clobbered by seasonal alergies that seem to get worse each year.
This year I thought I was off the hook due to the horrible cold weather ....
BUT this was not to be .... merely a delay in the onset and a triple whammy of tree pollen on top of all the other JUNish things ... plus held over spring melt crap like molds.

So basically ... I can't smell or taste anything ... so why waste a good beer?

A shot of whiskey might help .... but I'll save the new Brew Treats for the next few weeks.

Cheers for Now!
And remember .... FNB&B At Darcey's place ... See Ya!

And the Gang is already busy setting up for round two.

P.T. Barnum .... would be having a chuckle about now.

Personally ... I'm waiting for the Leftards to start protesting en masse.

Which Country was that ?

A blatant political message...

Whose Country? Which Country?

Click to watch the shocking video!

Citing "freedom of speech" and the fair use provision, the network rejected the Liberal attempt to prevent Canadians from seeing Michael Ignatieff, just 18 months before he came back to Canada to run for Prime Minister, calling the United States of America his "country". It is clear that the Liberals are terrified of Canadians watching Mr. Ignatieff - unedited and uninterrupted - express his true feelings.
