The WHO did not say anything of the kind in their IARC reports... what they said was there was a possibility ... and therefore "more research" is needed. Because 15 freeking years of celphone use studies ... doing their damndest to find any excuse to demonize the use of these devices ... is certainly not enough.

Race Weekend

Monaco Grand Prix .....81 years since the first...... Indy 500 100th anniversary of the first event ... 95th race.
Missed the F1 at Monaco this morning ... should have had breakfast and coffee when I woke up!
Currently watching the Indy at lap 80..........

Not a spectacular race so far ... just a few screw ups ... spotter for Danica Patric has her bitching over the radio .... but then her crew chief sent her out without enough fuel so she had to come in while the pit lane was closed and take a penalty ... along with about 10 others who did the same thing. Paul Tracy ... had handling problems and instead of backing off until a pit opportunity came up ran his car up into a side swipe with the wall ... no excuse for this because he's been around long enough to know better.

Miscellaneous rookie screw ups .....

One thing though that has me bothered.... The fence posts and chain link and the light standards are rusty.

The 100th anniversary of the Indy 500 and they can't be bothered to paint the fence?

So Google slavishly blocks the site in question for no reason ... kinda like an HRC complaint over offended sensitivities......

Been a While ...

... Since I've seen an article in a mainstream rag that spoke the truth about the mainstream media.

Chris Selley at the
National Post seems to have discovered that there actually is a problem in the media-sphere.

This piece notes some of the collapse that is occurring amongst various lefty-lib-lovers in the media as they feebly thrash about looking for reasons as to why they have fallen so low.... how all their efforts seem to be for naught. But ... of course ... too early for the shitwits to grasp the fact that the very reason for their own failure is that the fraudulent nature of their own games is recognized by ever increasing numbers in the public audience. Where once it was sufficient that they count their successes by thedepth and endurance of any disruption they might cause in the public sphere ... they are now faced with being forced to self examine. I relish their pain.

So ... how is it that even MSM insiders are starting to sound like they have discovered some previously unknown truth?

Well ... just chalk it up to facing the inevitable. With the long overdue collapse of the LPC there isn't much for the hardcore lib lovers to cheer about and the fairweather bandwagon riders, drum thumpers and trumpet tooters can easily slide off the left turn track just so they have something to write about. Never mind that bloggers have been showing up the MSMers for years over the ingrained bias of those self important fart sniffers and their incessant efforts to manufacture controversy in hopes of undermining any non-liberal politician.

For my part ... not being limited by an attention span that lasts about as long as rock of crack in a Toronto after hours club ... I won't be forgetting exactly how and for how long these cretins have had their way.

The MSM has been digging their own grave for decades in many ways .... the latest blow for the Canadian clique of these charlatans is the demise of their political cronies. The next step will be the feeding frenzy as they eat their own ... closely followed by hyperbolic descent into hysteria and delusion. Perhaps a few will manage to pull their heads out of their own asses long enough to remember what fresh air and sunshine is all about.... but the rest are going down in an inglorious spiral of self immolation.

This article by some guy using the moniker "Hank Hyena" 10 Stupid Human Hating Ecologists .... came up in one of my searches ... which I found apropos to the theme.

Hank wrote this for the Humanity+ at Parsons blog ... last year ...

And it fits in nicely with some other works that I have been following ... Revisionist thinking for one which I see as one of the crutches of the anti-social progressives. It seems to me that there has never been a case of these meddling monsters having any argument or justification for the things they wish on us all that does not begin with a false assumption ... or a falsehood ... or a false perspective of history.

Paul Crowe at The Kneeslider ... has found another work of mechanical art.... worth asking the question "Is This A Motorcycle?" As a study in mechanical form.... the Falcon Motorcycles tribute to the Vincent Black Shadow and early British performance bikes in general is pretty impressive.

A work of art in a way .... the creation of a passionate artisan for sure.

I particularly like the use of brass finishing as an accent .... a bit of the Steampunk influence I think.
I doubt if I'll have time to produce anything like this before the EOW .... probably never come close to this level of skill .... but I do have a project that needs finishing.

Friday's Beer!

Say hello to Thwaites .... Very Nutty Black ...
Adverstised as an "Export Strength" brew and being "bottle conditioned"....

Well at 3.9% abv I'm not sure what they mean by export strength... but I'm guessing that England being part of the EU is subject to some kind of minimum content rule.

Anyhow .... the brew is low key with no head or effervescence. The aroma is that pleasant summer straw sort of fuggles hops and there is a little bit of bakeshop under the hops.

The mouth feel is smooth and creamy and the flavour a light slightly sweet taste with a low key and clean finish. As I said ... low key .... but pleasant enough.

I'm guessing that this would be a good beverage to wash down some hot-n-spicy food like curry.

The Real Problem With Sun News Network

The usual suspects in the establishment media would have us believe that the problem with Sun TV news is that people who are willing to present contrary views to the echo chamber of the Canadian lefty lib elites are a bad thing...

Well ... of course that is not the problem ... it is only aproblem for those people who see things that way (lefty/lib establishment media goofs).

The real problem that I am observing in Sun TV News is that they draw their content from the pool of Sun Papers. If any of you have paid attention to Sun papers editorial and opinion writers in the past you probably know exactly what I mean.

Take for example The work of Granatstein who would have us believe that there is something demeaning about the election of no talent politicians. And believes that the real issue is somehow... that this is demeaning to politicians.

Well no Andy .... it is demeaning to Us the TAXPAYERS who have been getting this sort of shafting at the hands of political parties for ever.

There is probably a thousand or more words to be said on this matter but no time for it now. Perhaps a future essay.....

Back to the subject at hand ... The Sun TV talent pool ... there is not enough of it to carry the new network for any length of time if they intend to rise above the low bar set by the existing networks. Basically the strength of this team lies in Levant, Caldwell, Adler and the supporting characters like Lillie and Akin ... all of whom I have taken exception to over a variety of failures in fact or reason ... or just plain stupidity. But to err is human ... so let's move on....

The problem with Sun TV news is not the point of view of some of their lead people ... nor is it the bare arms of the women on air .... nor is it because lefty/lib establishment media clowns don't like the idea of having Sun TV news complicate their lives.

It is the fact that the network is going to need a lot more depth .... otherwise it is doomed to sink into the same morass as the rest of the MSM.

Because the problem with all of the MSM is the same .... lack of talent.

American Pickers vs Canadian Pickers

I have to confess .... when I first saw the listing on the TV show American Pickers I thought they were going to do a documentary on country guitar players..................

So after the show came on the air .... or more accurately onto the fiber optic backbone of North America..... I was a little surprised to see a pair of shabby looking guys driving around in a Mercedes Sprinter cargo van and dropping in on farm yards and people's homes scattered around the back roads of America. Well ... it makes sense after all .... and I soon became a fan of the show.
The appeal ... to me... seems obvious in that just about everyone I know has a bit of a collection of small and sometimes large objects of interest. Whether it is items that have been passed down through the family or things picked up over the years there is in nearly every one's life and home something that would be called a "pick". So .... as I see it ... there is a natural point of shared interest in these sorts of things that spans a pretty large part of our society without regard for demographic segments.

The show seems to have become a success and from my POV keeps getting better .... it is a bit of an addiction for me.

So, I was curious when they started advertising "Canadian Pickers" .... a show distributed by the History Television network.

After watching the first few episodes it became patently obvious that our intrepid Canadian Pickers duo are being let down in a big way by the shows producers. Unfortunately so .... because these guys come across as being eminately likable and really interested in the hunt and finding of little treasures. Sadly in the usual manner of our home grown media production industry the show lacks any sense of love or effort. Instead of our team of pickers going out into the boonies to find any real characters or real hidden treasure troves, these poor suckers have been shunted from one junk store to another to roadside tourist trap rip-off joints to commonplace flea markets.

Sad........ the usual Canadian Me Tooism .... take a great idea with a proven track record and try to duplicate the success of that idea by simply transplanting the geography. It smacks of the all too typical results of the soulless, talentless hacks that dominate our media production industry. I'll bet the producers never bothered to leave their Toronto offices to find those venues for Scott Cozen and Sheldon Smithen to explore. Really too bad .... because these guys come across as really likable.


The winners - American Pickers ......Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz get the kind of opportunities they really need to make the show interesting because the people behind the scenes actually work at making it happen.

Canadian Pickers .... sadly .... reeks of Government Subsidy dependant .... half-assed ... amateurism that ruins a great opportunity for everyone else.

A lovely golden body with a steady effervescence that starts out as a bubble orgy in the big glass.

Beautiful crispy foam top that gives off sharp hoppy aromas ... tinged with bananaesque yeast vapours and undertones of light breadshop malts.



A healthy swig provides plenty of pleasure .... a nice crisp tang... a smooth sweetness and a clean finish that hangs on to a bit of those hops.

Not heavy on the ABV at 4.1% ... a half liter is a great place to start .... also ... she goes well with pub food and snacks.

Thwaites Wainwright gets two thumbs up and a double lick off the top lip..... drain the glass all the way and get another.

Shaw cable continued to block programming from CTV news on the cable network well after Restoring other broadcasters signals .....
Also noted .... CBC French channel news carried full election reporting while pols were still open west of Quebec ..... CBC english broadcast results live before pols closed in AB.

Shaw cable is blocking all cable news feeds citing Elections Canada rules ......

As far as anyone can tell this is not their responsibility .... but the responsibility lies with the broadcaster to not publish results from polls until the polls close.

Pre-crime has been determined by EC or Shaw ... the result is that our connection to information sources is being disrupted for no reason.
