Little Cat Feet

Shaggy and his littermate brother Scooby came to live with us in October 2005, when they were 5 years old. Scout arrived in 2006 at the age of 6 weeks. Scooby passed over very suddenly to the Rainbow Bridge on April 1, 2012 and is remembered fondly and missed deeply.

Strange Happenings

This is how mom found Scooby & Scout the other evening and she couldn't believe her eyes, so of course she took a picture.

Scout teases & chases Scooby like crazy. He ambushes him when he uses one of the litter boxes, he chases him, pouncing on his back to bring him down like a tiger after his prey. He will also hide behind corners or furniture to pounce out at Scooby when he walks by.

Scooby hisses and runs if Scout gets anywhere too close to him. He has never become accepting of Scouts presence in the house. Scooby's my littermate and we've always been together. Scout is only 2 and still pretty rambunctious.
Then something like this happens. Mom said if the Lion can lay down with the Lamb, then the Scooby can lay down with the Scout.

Cold

Dang!
It was 43 degrees yesterday
and today it's below zero with a winter storm coming!
Why does Mother Nature give tantalizing
tastes of Spring and then take it away
so cruelly?
Even the birds were out singing and
doing happy bird things and the neighborhood
woofies were all getting walks with their people.
Today, it's hibernation time again.

Mom's New Blanket

Here's a picture of the new throw blanket mom got for Christmas from her sister.

Here we are modeling it for you.

What's that mom? Move so they can see the whole thing?

Each kitty is different, just like in real life. You can biggify the picture and see.

We'd like to take it over for ourselves, but mom says it is for herself to cuddle up in.

Speak For Yourself Lady!

Mom's friend came over the other day
and when she petted me she said:
"Well, you're a little Butterball aren't you?"
The nerve of that woman!
Of course I ignored her the rest of the visit.

Treats

Here's a picture from Christmas time. Must have got lost in the shuffle of things!

I try to sneak my way down the counter and chew my way through the treat bag.
If mom's around I'll bat it to the floor to get her attention.

Scooby on Patrol

Hi Everyone!
I'm holding down the house while mom is sick.
Her chest is very sore and it hurts her to cough. It hurts right through to her back.
She's also got swollen glands in her neck.
Things tend to fall apart around here when mom isn't around so I'm doing regular patrols and making sure no mysteries develop.

Sick Day

Our mom seems to have the cold that's going around.
She thought she was getting better yesterday after 3 days of it, but today she feels worse than before. Stuffy head, fever, achy joints, sore throat.
So now we do what kitties do best...Watch over her and help her get better. Lots of bed duty. One of us has been there at all times, but usually all three of us are there.
Scout thinks she needs grooming and has been licking her a lot, but mostly we just nap beside her or watch birds & squirrels out the window.
We are hoping she feels better soon and it doesn't move into her chest because then she has trouble breathing. When she's sick she is most like at cat, sleeping most of the time.

Snoopervising the Piggies

One of my favorite things to do is to snoopervise mom when she cleans up the guinea pig cage. I beg & beg her to set them free on the floor, but she won't. Something about them being her babies and she loves them too! But I do reach in & whap 'em when she's not looking!

Here are Emma Sue & Sasha after all their poopies have been cleaned out and they are enjoying their timothy hay. Timothy hay is vital to piggies otherwise they won't digest their food properly and waste away. They get all the hay they want and practically dive into every fresh handful.

Why can't we have all the Temptations & Stinky Goodness we want?? Something is totally not right here.

Hanging Out

With the excitement of the new year over, life has settled down
to a cat's pace now.

Dad's gone back to work, and routines are back to normal again.
We like it that way. The less excitement the better.

Leave the excitement to the woofies, we cats are gonna chill.
