Little Cat Feet

Shaggy and his littermate brother Scooby came to live with us in October 2005, when they were 5 years old. Scout arrived in 2006 at the age of 6 weeks. Scooby passed over very suddenly to the Rainbow Bridge on April 1, 2012 and is remembered fondly and missed deeply.

Starving!!!

Ok, how thick headed can that woman be?
I want my Fancy Feast!!!!!
How many times must I sit & stare at her and meow pitifully to get the message across.
This morning I laid on top of her & stared at her while she was sleeping, but she somehow blocked the telepathic message. I started to meow & march all around the bed making it bounce and she picked me up & shut me into the spare room with diet crunchies & water. Just like prison!

V-E-T

Scooby & I had to go to the vet today for booster shots!
Mom didn't even warn us ahead of time! She put the carriers in the car first with the doors open then grabbed us one by one and took us out & shoved us in and shut the doors! We didn't think she could be so mean.
As expected, the v-e-t said we are dangerously f-a-t. I weighed in at 19.5 and Scooby at 17.5 pounds. He insulted Scooby by saying he has a little head on a great, big body. He growled at him the whole time, by the way.
Now we have to eat stuff called Hills m/d. (metabolic diet: very high protein, low carb).
And she has to ration it!!! And she can't leave it sitting out to nibble on during the day!!!
1/4 cup each in the morning and 1/4 cup each in the evening. We're gonna starve!!!
She said target weight is when we can clean our bottoms by ourselves again!!!!! That's gonna take awhile.
The v-e-t said we will get used to being fed that way. At first she said we will beg mercilessly (you better believe we will!) Then we will come to accept it and actually be able to tell when feeding time is (accept it? she's dreaming!)
Oh the misery, oh the pain.
But it might be nice to clean my butt again.....

Resolutions

Our friend Timothy Dickens challenged up to blog about 5 revolutions...er...resolutions we want to work on this year. Well, we couldn't think about anything that we needed to improve, so we decided to tell you the 5 things MOM needs to work on in 2007.
1. When we sit by the pantry door and stare at it, that means get the stinky goodness NOW and feed us.
2. Likewise, when you are sitting in "your" chair, and one of us comes and sits at your feet staring up at you, get out of the chair so the cat can have it.
3. Try to remember to scoop the litter boxes daily. 3 cats make a lot of poop. Deal with it.
4. No more stepping on us when you get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. "oops, sorry" doesn't cut it anymore. You know there is probably a cat nearby on the floor.
5. Remember to take a daily nap. We look forward to the group nap in the afternoon.
So there you have it. We wonder if she will ever get it right.

Circus

Can anycat help me here? I'm wondering what a 3-ring circus is.
This morning I was romping in mom & dads room.
I was jumping on the bed from the table under the window. I did that lots.
Then I was rassling Shaggy and rolling with him at the end of the bed. Then I was rassling Scooby. But he doesn't like to rassle with me so he was doing a lot of growling, hissing and yowling at me instead.
So when my big brothers wouldn't play anymore I decided it was time to knock stuff off the dresser and bedside tables and climb the bookcase headboard. And talk to my reflection in the mirror. Then jump from the table to the bed again. And again. And again.
This is where the circus stuff comes in. Mom picked me up and tossed me into the hall and said "I don't need a 3-ring circus at 4:30 in the morning." Then she shut the door. Geez she is wierd sometimes. -Scout

Density

Scooby here. Mom can be so dense sometimes. For some reason known only to himself, Shaggy wanted to go out into the dark, last night at around 7pm. Seriously. The temp was in the low teens, it was c-o-l-d and the wind was blowing fiercely. But mom figured he'd just sit on the steps and want to come in. Which is just what he wanted...but she forgot about him!!!
He was out there in the cold & snow freezing his tail off while she sat in the warm house totally oblivious to him.
Finally, I figured I'd better remind her that he was out there so I came up to her & let out the loudest meow I could.
"What is it Scooby? What do you want?" Sheesh, she still couldn't remember he was out there. "Ok, I gotta make this obvious. She has a simple mind," I thought. So I ran to the door and then she remembered. He'd been out for about 30 minutes. Even though he has a winter coat built in, he still gets cold.
"SHAGGY!" She let him in and told her in no uncertain terms how cold his feet were. Then he played the sympathy card and tried for some Stinky Goodness. He didn't get any.
But I got showered with pettings and kisses and lots of "Good boy, Scooby."
Shaggy got lots of apologies and pettings too.
But no Stinky Goodness.

Teamwork

Dang it!
We almost got it, then mom walked in.
Scout got up on the counter & knocked the bag of Temptations down to the floor.
Scooby & I got it into the sunroom and Scooby was just starting to chew real good through the bag!
Then, Mom came in from her shopping!
Crap.
We'll have to start as soon as she leaves the house next time.

Birthday

College Boy had his 22nd birthday yesterday and for breakfast today mom ate birthday cake!
Logically, wouldn't that mean we should be able to get a big bowl of Temptations for breakfast?

Catsitting

This is Patches.
Mom is his cat sitter.
His momma is gone to Alaska visiting her daughter & granddaughter for 3 weeks.
This is a long time for her to be gone and she still won't be back until the 8th. Everytime she goes over to feed him she takes a book so she can sit & read and pet him for an hour.
Patches has been making moves on our momma. Purring & rubbing on her. Leaving his hairs & scent on her pants.
But mom says not to worry because he is just super lonely and missing his mom, and not trying to steal her away from us.
