Little Cat Feet

Shaggy and his littermate brother Scooby came to live with us in October 2005, when they were 5 years old. Scout arrived in 2006 at the age of 6 weeks. Scooby passed over very suddenly to the Rainbow Bridge on April 1, 2012 and is remembered fondly and missed deeply.

Wild Thing

Scout is running around like a crazy cat today. It all started about 4:30 this morning when he started jumping up on mom's headboard shelves and batting things around. Then he stuck his paw in the kleenix box and scratched up all the tissues. He played with in the curtains for awhile and jumped on & off the bed a million times.
He kept running from the table under the open window and out the room, through the kitchen and back onto the bedroom table with a noisy giant leap. Then he was rasslin Shaggy on the bed, and mom really got fed up. So she got up early and gave us Fancy Feast Turkey & Giblets and that settled him down for a bit, but soon he was running up & down the basement stairs, batting his mice across the floor jumping in & out of the laundry basket.
Now he's hiding under a chair to stalk & pounce at unsuspecting feet as they go by.
He was stalking the guinea pigs last night too while mom was trying to clean their houses up. Here's an older picture of him checking out Little Bo & Theodore. See how he jumps right up on the edge? He will reach in & bat at them too. They don't like that.
Scout slept nearly all day yesterday like he was storing up super amounts of energy for his antics today. We think he filled the reserve tank too. -Scooby

Happy Fathers Day

What is a Father?
Well, a father is someone who works hard to put Stinky Goodness on your plate every day. And crunchies in your dish.
A father is someone who lets you pounce on his golf balls when he's practice putting in the living room...and laughs because he thinks it's cute.
A father is someone who won't move his legs in bed all night because a kitty is curled up against them and he doesn't want to disturb you.
A father is someone who lets you lick his salad ingredients because you are curious, then gives you a taste of ham because he knows you like it.
And a father is someone who scoops you up in his arms when he comes home from work to hug you, 'cause he's glad to see you.
Fathers are some of the bestest people on the whole world...next to moms that is!
HAPPY FATHERS DAY ALL YOU DADS OUT THERE!
Especially our dad, Mike.
Love, Scooby, Shaggy & Scout

Supervising

One of the things I must do as the responsible cat in the household is to supervise the regular household duties.
Folding and sorting laundry is one of the more mundane things done around here, but if I don't supervise mom while she does it, who knows how it will turn out.

Radio for Kitties

Mom saw in her June Better Homes & Gardens Magazine that there is a radio station for kitties & woofies.
It's called DogCatRadio.com and it broadcasts live over the internet 24 hours a day, from a studio in Los Angeles.
The article says that since it was started by an animal lover a year ago and it has grown from 200 listeners a week to 6.2 million all over the world.
Lots of people leave a radio on all day when they are gone so their kitty or woofie won't get lonely and that's what this station is for. Because critters easily pick up negative vibes from angry callers on talk radio stations and can get upset from it, there is none of that on this station. The article says they play upbeat happy music for your kitties like "Dog Day Afternoon", "Hound Dog" and "That's What Friends Are For".
We are lucky enough to have our mom home all day with us, but some kitties aren't and maybe you want to check this station/site out. It's just for us!

Meet the New Slim Shaggy

Look at me!
I have lost so much weight on my diet that I was able to jump up on the counter where mom keeps the "good" food that Scooby & Scout eat!
Mom would keep my Purina OM diet food on the floor. She said 6 months ago: "There is no way Shaggy can jump on the counter to get the Science Diet."
Well I did it! Cat friends, you should have seen the mighty leap I made, all in one fluid motion, from the floor to the counter. It was a thing of beauty. Mom saw it and it surprised the crap out of her! She ran for the camera and gave me lots of congratulations and let me eat the Science Diet. Now we all eat on the floor but she is careful about how much she puts out at one time so I don't blimp out again.

Happy Birthday Shaggy & Scooby

Today is our birthday!
We are 6 now.
Even though we don't look like it we are brothers from the very same litter.
That's right! We've been together always!
We almost got split up before we came to live with mom nearly 3 years ago, because no one wanted two big kitties at the same time. Shaggy had someone who wanted him but no one wanted me (Scooby). But our forever mom saw a sign at her work advertising us and she was worried because it was up for 2 weeks and no one had responded. The first mom was waiting as long as possible to keep us together but she had to move overseas very soon and was running out of options to keep us together. I almost got sent to the *gasp* Humane Society! Without my brother! But our forever mom called because she was worried that the poster was still up and when she heard about the situation she said "I'll take them both!"
And that's how we came to live here with the best mom in the world.
We know we will be together ALWAYS!
