Little Cat Feet

Shaggy and his littermate brother Scooby came to live with us in October 2005, when they were 5 years old. Scout arrived in 2006 at the age of 6 weeks. Scooby passed over very suddenly to the Rainbow Bridge on April 1, 2012 and is remembered fondly and missed deeply.

Helping with Chores

Sometimes it takes all day to change the bed.
We are missing all of you so much. Our boy is still in the hospital after 2 months. He's had a couple more unsuccessful lung surgeries and lots of complications. His body is very weak and does not want to heal itself. Mom has been doing a lot of driving back & forth from Minneapolis to North Dakota. She is sick now, run down and tired. These last several weeks have all been auto-postings. She will be driving back on Friday. We miss her, but stick close to her and give her love and purrs when she is home. We really miss the "normalcy" of routine daily life.

Zolie in the leaves

Mom found some pictures on her camera disc of Zolie from earlier this fall. She comes onto the back deck to look in the glass door and watch us. She had fun chasing the leaves when they got lifted by the wind. She is very pretty leaping and pouncing like a kitten. We never used to see her play before mom managed to catch her and get her spayed. Too busy with being pregnant all the time, but not any more. She has a good life now.

In the Litterbox

Mom decided it was time to refresh one of our litterboxes. She dumped out the litter and washed out the inside with bleach. Much fresher. However, I found another use for it before she refilled it. Not bad. She should have just put a blankie in it for me and made a nice nap spot. Maybe next time I can convince her.  -Scout

Winter is Here

We had our first snowstorm of the season on Monday, with light snow continuing to fall yesterday. It was heavy and wet and hard for the people to shovel. Mom is all aches & pains from it. Some day dad might give in and get a snowblower machine. I'm comfy just hanging out inside as usual, surrounded by warm blankies.  -Shaggy

Caught in the Act

Nom Nom Nom
Sunday was the last day of "autumn" for us because yesterday a winter storm moved in and we have snow now. But before that hit, the evil, jack-o-lantern eating squirrel was caught in the act of this unparalleled gourd desecration! Look how fat and sleek he has become from feasting on what was once a carved pumpkin with a friendly kitty face!  Then a surprise happened! Zolie slowly crept up on him, chased him out of the yard and across the street! He was so busy stuffing his squirrely face that he didn't even notice her approaching!  Good girl, Zolie!

This Ain't No Catnip Mousie

Just doing our job around here. Every November as the temps get colder it seems like one or two of the little beasties manage to squeak past the door and get into the house. We stand alert and on guard to protect our domain from any and all introoders. Last year it was a pregnant female who we caught in the act of giving birth to bald pink jellybeans. She was in the corner behind Toby's cage. That caused some excitement. It was rather disgusting with the mom trying to run and babies dropping out her backside. Our dad caught the mom mouse and mom flushed the jellybeans. This specimen has a lovely long tail doesn't it?
But he didn't stand a chance with us around.

Good Morning, Mom!

I surprised Mom when she walked into her bathroom after getting out of bed this morning. A cold morning, and the birds and squirrels were not their usual noisy, active selves so there was no point in keeping watch at the window.  Plus, I'm tired after this last week of asking for breakfast at 4am and getting yelled at about daylight savings time. Gotta love the granite cat bed!!

Aieeee! They Ate His Face!!

What a handsome model
Our handsome kitty face jack-o-lantern has become a delicatessen for the selfish, nasty, voracious, yard squirrels. First it was a nibble here and a mouthful there, then.....bam.....it looks like an army attacked it. An army of sleek, grey, bushy-tailed evil squirrels that is!
Oh well, all good things must come to an end. He was fun while he lasted.
Even his brainz are gone!
