Little Cat Feet

Shaggy and his littermate brother Scooby came to live with us in October 2005, when they were 5 years old. Scout arrived in 2006 at the age of 6 weeks. Scooby passed over very suddenly to the Rainbow Bridge on April 1, 2012 and is remembered fondly and missed deeply.

Another One Bites the Dust

Look what I brought mom to cheer her up!
Dad's out of town and I thought she'd like a little something to chase the boredom.
I've been stalking this dude all summer and finally got him!
I thought Mom would want to stuff & mount it on the wall, but she said we had to bury him & let him rest in peace.

Mars

This last weekend after frog hunting (see last post)
our friend and neighbor kitty, Mars, came over to visit.
He got out around his Gramma's legs again. He's a small, thin cat so he really can slip by undetected.
Mom goes all "squeeeeeee" over him because he is an orinch
cat and she has never had an orinch cat before.
Mars will always come to lounge on the front steps or on a chair
on the porch. Sometimes he will just lay in the grass near me, Scout.
He never goes far, just his yard & ours. He's 8, same as Shaggy & Scooby.
Mom has been giving him Fancy Feast when he visits lately. She did it once, so of course now every time he comes over he rubs her legs & asks for some. He doesn't get any at home. Here he is enjoying his food, then I couldn't resist and had to help him.
Shaggy and I sat in the sun on the steps with mom after he left.
It was a good morning.

Adventure!

We had an introoder in the yard this weekend!
A FROG!

He was a big warty fellow too! I didn't notice him until he moved because as you can see, he blended in pretty well with the rocks.

Here's Shaggy getting a good sniff at him before he stared hopping away.

Then I cornered him in the rocks but only looked at him. I didn't dare touch him either 'cause Scooby told me I'd get warts. Plus he kept jumping and startling me!

Mr. Frog was getting pretty scared, so after mom got these pictures, she picked him up & put him in the neighbors perennial garden where its cool & moist and he probably came from there anyway.
Oh crap! MOM PICKED HIM UP!!!!!!! Oh Mom I hope you don't get warts!
You better not have kissed him either, or dad will be pissed.
He is her Prince already.

Feeling Poorly

Both Mom & I have been feeling poorly this week.

I've been yakking more than usual and mom has had.... ummm....... dia...diarr...... that icky thing that she has to use the human litter box all the time. She's had it for 4 days and her tummy cramps up when she eats food, then she has to run to her potty. (tmi I know). The doctors office said to do a liquid diet till it stops. Then she can slowly start eating again with bananna, rice, real mild foods.

She thinks she must have eaten something that was undercooked or had that e-coli bacteria but she can't remember anything that might have done it. I've been sleeping a lot on the guest room bed in the cool basement, only coming upstairs to yak.

Cloaking Device

One of my favorite games is to burrow under my snuggle that Sophia's Mom DKM made
just for me and hide from mom.
This is my Cloak of Invisibility, and when I go under it, no one can see me.
I am invisible and invincible!

In Memory

We remember all our friends, both big and small who now rest in eternal peace.

I'm a Mighty Hunter

I caught my first prey today!!!!
Mom had me tethered in the yard near the pine trees and undergrowth. The grass is nice & soft there. She was up on the deck reading and noticed that I had been in the same spot without moving for like, an hour.
Just as she was gonna come down to check if I was tangled, I moved with blinding speed and emerged from the thicket with a chipmunk in my mouth!!! A full sized adult one!
I put it down & picked it up a couple times but when mom got to me she picked me up & said to let the chippy go! He was alive, but playing dead, but he soon realized he was safe and ran off fast! I was straining and pulling to get out of mom's arms, but she held on tightly!
Dang! I had my first prey and Scooby & Shaggy never got to see it.
They don't believe I did it, so now I'll have to prove I did by catching another one. But only when mom's not watching. That was my big mistake.
Look out Chippy, here I come!
