Little Cat Feet

Shaggy and his littermate brother Scooby came to live with us in October 2005, when they were 5 years old. Scout arrived in 2006 at the age of 6 weeks. Scooby passed over very suddenly to the Rainbow Bridge on April 1, 2012 and is remembered fondly and missed deeply.

Drinking Fountain

Mom put out our Cool Flow drinking fountain again for us to try. Scooby & I are constantly
trying to drink from the tap in the bathroom, so she figured she'd try it again.

When I was younger, you know, last year, I kept playing with it, sloshing water all over with my paws and playing with the cord. Also, the pump kept getting clogged with Shaggy's hair. He sheds so much it rolls across the kitchen floor like tumbleweeds some days. It would get into the water then get sucked into the pump. So she tried a few times, but then put it away.

This time she put the fountain out in another room, one with carpet which keeps the fur from floating so much, and guess what? Even though I dip my paw in now & then, I'm not as interested as I used to be in making it a toy and we have been enjoying fresh, cold fountain water! And drinking more, which is good for our health.

Scout the Mighty Hunter

Hi everybody!

Time to do some Toby stalking!

You saw a couple posts ago Shaggy sitting nicely with him.

Well, I like a little adventure in my life and guinea pig stalking is lots of fun!
Mom usually hovers too closely and ruins it by swooping in to save the
little morsel, er, ummm..... fellow.... and my game is ruined.
I just want to bat him around a little.
You know.....embrace my inner predator.
Whats wrong with that?
Mom just says, "We don't whap and eat family members."
Spoilsport.

Shaggy to the Rescue

Here I am in one of my favorite positions ... on my back with my feet in the air.
Mom took my picture then insulted me by calling me gigantic, of all the rude things to say.

Then yesterday she felt bad for calling me names. She had a wisdom tooth pulled and while she was mewling on the bed like a sick kitten, which of us cats went to comfort her? Me, that's who. I laid by her side and let her feel me purr and we napped together.

Shaggy & Toby

Shaggy & our guinea pig Toby enjoyed some time on mom's lap recently.

Toby was a baby when he came to live with us in October, he's full grown now and a really big piggie.
He's also kinda smelly. Male guinea pigs have a scent gland on their bottoms that give off an ickky musky smell, especially when they are excited about something...like sitting on mom's lap, or getting tasty veggies or fresh timothy hay. Or hearing/smelling the 2 females in the next cage.
He will rub the gland on the sides of his cage to "mark it" and make sure everyone knows it's his very own bachelor pad.
Toby's a dear little fellow, in spite of his maleness. He loves to have his nose and behind his ears rubbed and he is quite a "talker" always making his wheep-wheep sound whenever he hears the fridge door open (he knows thats where the veggies come from) and he will chirp for attention when ever someone comes in the room.

Golfing with Dad

Dad likes to keep his golf game in shape during the winter, so he uses this
machine thingy to practice putting.

This is one of my favoritest games in the world!
Dad putts, I pounce!

Then I make a hazard for him by laying under the green carpet thing.

If he makes it into the hole at the other end, I love to watch the ball pop out from
the automatic ball return. Once I made the mistake of laying there with my nose by the hole
& got whapped when the ball shot out, so now I'm careful to keep my distance from that.
The ball shoots out to go back to dad and I like to pounce it or chase it down like prey.
So I guess we are both keeping our "game" in shape with this putting thingy.

Lots of Snow

We got lots of snow the last few days so mom has been busy moving it from one place to another.
She calls it shoveling.
We call it work.
She says it's "good exercise."
The cold air is coming tonight and the temps will be below zero until the weekend. That's what the weather guessers on tv say anyway.
So you know what this means........NAP!

January Quiet Time

Not much going on here. We realized it's been a week since we've posted.
We have been busy napping, and just generally hanging around snoopervising mom who is trying to sort out clutter and neaten the house.
With the tree down and dad gone back to work the house is quiet once again.
Mom is happy, she likes silence and stillness and things in general just get too noisy and crowded around the holidays. Too much togetherness. She gets migrains, then takes Imitrex which wipes her out, so she often naps with us in the afternoons.
We hear we are going to get an "arctic express" in a couple days. Very cold air coming down from Canada with temps plunging into the sub zero range. Luckily she went shopping today and we are fully stocked up with Stinky Goodness to help us weather this weather.

just waiting to be taken!
