May the Force be with You! Happy Halloween 2016

This year we went with the Star Wars theme.
I had already created Violet's Rey costume.
Aunt Steph was so kind to let us borrow Princess Lea, Han's Solo and the Ewok ears.
So that left me with just purchasing a Storm Trooper costume and making a Ewok body costume.

The kids were so excited.
We got to wear the costumes the first time at the church Trunk or Treat.
Benicio LOVEs this costume.

The youth put on the Trunk or Treat.
Benicio was all about getting that donut with no hands...
It was fun seeing another family dressed up as Star Wars.

Young Princess Lea with the Older Version.
My favorite Rey.
Our very lame Trunk....The balloons had glow sticks in them.
Verses the really fun Trunk....next year I will be more in the spirit!
On Halloween Benicio and I headed to the library...

Once Papi got home we went out trick or treating!

We did just the loop around the neighborhood and came back home the kids were happy with what they received.

The scariest house on the block...
Violet did not get treats from this house the other two were brave.
Dani came by for visit and Benicio was so happy to have him.
Love his Super Why costume!
At 10 pm that night I finally look at the kids folders and in it it says that it is the 50 day of school the next day.  The first graders were suppose to dress like the 50's.  So I grabbed my poodle dog patch and sat down to sew it on one of her skirts....She looked awful cute but I was exhausted!

It was another fun and memorable Halloween.

We sure love this time of year!

School Carnival and Benicio's Preschool

Violet made this adorable craft in her "Activity Days" girl group at church.  Now that she is 8 years old she gets to go every other Wednesday to church and be with her friends.
She looks forward to it every time.

I volunteered at our schools carnival for both the kids teachers and let me tell you I got stuck with the two most messiest stations.  The "nose picking one" where the kids stick their hand in one nostril and pullout green slime and then put their hand in the other and pick a prize.

The second booth I was at with the Pie Toss one.  The kids loved it. I had kids volunteering to put their face in the hole and get smashed with whip cream.

I let the kids dress up however they wanted to.
Benicio the pirate...

Lucia wanted to be the Ewok and enter in the costume contest.
Violet a black kitty.

Lucia won 1st place cutest costume out of a lot of kids competing (at least 30 kids).
She was so HAPPY.
With her prize stuffy and her medal.

Games...Lucia hit that Minion hard!
Lucia changed into a comfortable bunny for the rest of the day...
Benicios school had a Halloween party and he went as a Fireman...

But look at the HUGE bag of candy he came home with....Most of that Candy got dished out on Halloween....

All the ADORABLE crafts done at school.

and we finally carved our big pumpkin.....The kids were so excited.
Benicio insisted we carve his super tiny pumpkin...and this Mami managed to do it!

What a great OcTobler it's been!

University of Florida Homecoming Weekend

We headed to Gainesville to enjoy the Homecoming festivities.  Chad and I had been talking for a while that we wanted to take the kids to the Homecoming fun at our Alma mater.  Turns out that during that weekend the college of Engineering was having their reunion during that time.
So Chad and I decided it was a perfect time to go, we contacted all our college friends the "Cimar" group and turned it into a family affair!

Instead of being terrified on the plane this time, my little traveler just went straight to sleep...

So we ended up flying into Tampa since our Orlando flight continued to be delayed.
Once there we rented and car and drove to Gainesville.  The Tampa airport is so nice.  Here the kids are enjoying the fish tanks.
After a nice bath Benicio asked Tio Miguel to "hold him like a baby....we all oblige to that cute request.

Chad, Miguel and I ran in the Gator Gallop.
I had trained for weeks to be able to run the 2 miles without stopping.
I was so happy that I was able to do it, I met my goal! I even ran 10 min faster, must have been all the energy with everyone running around me.

Then the Abuelos showed up with the kids to watch the parade!

Oh the excitement....It was a toasty day.

The family enjoying the parade!

Our friend Karl joined us.

Then our friends Roberto and Nikki found us and their adorable girls instantly started playing with our girls.

We then headed out for lunch.
the Cimar Team!
That night Miguel, Karl, Chad and I headed to the Gator Growl.

Now this use to happen in the staduim but they have changed it to a field on campus, it felt more like a music festival with food trucks etc.

It was a good time.

Game day!
Look at all these cuties!

They had face painting and balloons for the kids..

When Chad saw the girls faces he says "What team are you going for?"  Because we were playing against the tigers.

In this picture the girls are meowing....I have the funniest video snip-it of Lucia meowing but I don't know how to up load it.

Benicio wanted a football, this was the quickest and least messy football the girl could put on him.

The Tobler Family
The Kent Family
The Montane Family
The whole Gang!!
I wish we lived closer to these sweet girls and their family.
Our girls are the same age.
So the plan was to have my Brother and Dad join us for the game, but they preferred not to go, they were taking care of some home improvements.
So we asked the girls and Lucia decided that she wanted to join us for her 1st Gator game!
She was so excited, and did so well.  It was only in the last 5 min where she started to say, Ok I want to go now.
The girls loved yelling and doing the gator chomp and all the chants.

Got to wear my fun Gator shoes!
and it did rain but we weathered it out thanks to the the ponchos Miguel let us borrow.

It was really a great time and fun to be back in the swamp!
Oh and we won!

Our last day at Hotel San Miguel we enjoyed swimming in the pool...
and going for a walk hunting for Halloween decorations..
Benicio started to get tired of walking....so Lucia picked him up and started carry  him.  It was the cutest thing.

Bisabuela Elsa is turning the big 80 at the end of this month!

We sure had a fun time with family and friends!
It was another good time in Florida.

In the airport.
Going back home...and sleeping again..this little man is an experienced flyer.

Thank you Abuelo, Abuela, Bisabuela Elsa and Tio Miguel for the really fun family time.
We are so happy that so many of our friends were able to meet up for a fun homecoming weekend.
Looking forward to our next gathering!

Lucia's first gator game...this was videoed right at the end, the girl was TIRED!
