Christmas Day!

The night before Christmas the kids were so excited.  They made cards for Santa.
In Violet's card she wrote to Santa that she really wanted a girl elf for Sebastian.  We shall see what Santa thinks.
 He came!!!!!!
 Everyone was beyond excited!
A horse costume for our animal lover.
 Sleeping Beauty DVD
 Cozy robe and Christmas PJs

 So many fun things!

Chad got me this beauty for Christmas...guess he is expecting some delicious treats.
This Texan is going bare back on his Rody horse.
The Doc was in and she was beyond excited.
Poor Violet didn't feel her best on Christmas so the Doc was giving her a checkup.
It was a great morning.  I loved seeing the kids excitement, it reminds me of when I was a kid.  We missed all our family and friends near and far but we hope that you all had a wonderful day as well.
Merry Christmas!

Gingerbread House PARTY!

Violet really wanted to have a Christmas party this year.  This was going to be our first year having Christmas totally alone, nobody visiting and we did not go anywhere.  I thought it would be fun to have some friends over and decorate graham cracker houses.

My plan was to have the houses already built so that they could just decorate them.  It was 9pm and I was thinking, "Wow I am going to have sit here a long time letting these babies dry."  Chad then suggested that I hot glue the graham crackers and that the kids only wanted to eat the candy and that I should not worry about it.  I thought it was a great idea, so I was able to assemble all eight house very quickly.
The kids had a blast decorating their own houses.

Oh and licking and eating the candy and frosting was the best part of all.

 All the master pieces!
We had a lot of creative houses...

This little house was made by Benicio's little friend.  Unfortunately, Benicio took a nap during the entire party so he was unable to eat/decorate one for himself.  I image it would have looked like this.
It was a really good time.   The kids liked taking home their creations and Violet was happy that the party was such a success.  Looking forward to more graham cracker house parties in the future.

Here are the Christmas crafts Violet made at school.
Such fun ideas!

Here Comes Santa Claus....on a Firetruck!

We were excited to hear the firetruck sirens blaring the entire morning..."Why?" you ask....well here in our town Santa drives around the neighborhood on a firetruck throwing candy to all the good girls and boys.
The kids were beyond excited to see Santa and receive candy.....Here he comes the first time around.
I love plopping my lawn chair out in front of our house and catching up with the neighbors waiting for good Ole St. Nick.
Benicio is thinking he could totally get use to this tradition.

Bye Santa!  We love you, until next year!
