April Phone Favorites

I sure love this little nut...

This is how we roll these days. Momma's shoes, all sorts of accessories, and her baby stroller (practicing for little sisters arrival).

You know you go to Sonic too much when you pull up and your 2-year-old proceeds with, "I'll have a mini chocolate shake with no cherry, please."

We had to complete re-do Ps shoe selection this month. We had a week or so where she would not wear her shoes (but didn't say they hurt). So we went and had her measured, she's now a size 7.5 and she was wearing a size 6! Growth spurt! She was so excited about this pair of Nikes that she wore them to church the next day.

Me and my love on date night. I know my baby belly seems small in this pic but, to me it seems huge!

The Dallas Zoo

We had an impromptu trip to the Dallas Zoo today. When I asked Presley what she wanted to do today she said, "go to the zoo," which she's never requested before so, we packed up our gear and headed out on an adventure!

It was a fantastic day and we both really enjoyed ourselves!

I was so glad that Presley wanted to feed the giraffes. She wasn't shy at all about it and thought it was so funny when the giraffe got her hand with his tongue!

The children's area has a great "stream" to wade and splash in. It was a great way to cool off and break from all of the animal excitement!

Presley thought she wanted to ride this turtle...

...then quickly decided it wasn't for her. She's not a big fan of reptiles. She moved really quickly through the reptile house!

Of course, no outing would be complete without a carousel ride. She picked out a lovely zebra to ride and smiled the whole time.

It was such a fun day and I love being able to experience the magic of new things with her. She had so much fun seeing the animals, especially the koala bears and the lemurs--to which she serenaded with "I like to move-it, move-it" (from Madagascar). It was a great outing with my best little friend!

Happy Easter!

Presley was so excited to wake up and see that the Easter bunny had filled our Easter baskets and had hidden all of our eggs out in the yard!

She couldn't wait to get her little hands on her Easter treats. This girl must have eaten her weight in chocolate by the time we went to church. Jeff and I had baskets full of treats to enjoy too!

We had a lovely Easter Sunday. We went to church, I made brunch after our egg hunt (eggs benedict...YUM!), and we stuffed our faces with crab legs, shrimp cocktail, twice-baked potatoes, green beans and angel food cake for dessert. It was a pretty low-key day but, we LOVED it!

The weekend before, I was able to get some pics of Presley in her Easter finery at the Dallas Arboretum. I had my mom there to help me and we got a few gems!

Of course, we also got plenty of these...

What do the flowers say Presley? "It's springtime!"

Say "cheese"...

She looked beautiful in her little dress but, don't be fooled, we, like everyone else, spent most of the day looking like this...chocolate bulging and oozing from our mouths.

We hope you all had a Happy Easter! We are especially grateful for the Savior, His atonement and resurrection, and that because of Him we are able to be together as a family forever.

Grammy's Visit to Texas

At long last, Grammy came to see our new home in Texas. Presley was so excited to show Grammy her new house, where she plays, and all of her toys. Like most of our visitors, Grammy didn't make it out of P's playroom for very long before P requested "Come pay wis me, Grammy."

We had a lot of fun exploring the area and Presley was happy to show Grammy how to make our chocolate chip cookies. Grammy was kind enough to have movie night with P while Jeff and I went out on a date. Movie night always means "potcorn" and "tooties" for us!

We only had one major outing---to the Dallas Arboretum. It was beautiful. The spring flowers were in full bloom and we enjoyed spending the morning and early afternoon outside.

Grammy and P had gone on a walk to the park the day before and Grammy taught P all about spring flowers and how they are opening up to say "It's springtime!" Presley loved this and loved walking through the gardens telling us what the flowers were saying and stopping to smell all that she could get her little hands on.

We managed to get some cute pics of P in her Easter dress that I'll post later but, I love these pics of P and her Grammy just being silly.

We were so sad to see Grammy go but we are excited she'll be coming back in August to play and to meet P's new baby sister!

The Brothers Weekend in Broken Bow

We were so glad that all of the menfolk finally made it to Dallas and that the 2014 Brothers Weekend could begin!

Jeff found this great little cabin for their get away.

There was plenty of eating,

soaking, (they had to refill the hot tub every time they got in it--with all that beef inside the water just poured out!)

visiting,

more eating,

and a little bit of hiking.

(Didn't want to burn too many calories!)

There was only one emergency trip to McDonalds to get wifi access. And despite some rainy weather, a good time was had by all...

...and they have the weight gained to prove it.

Preparing for the Tobler Invasion

We are so excited to have all of Jeff's brothers and parents coming to Texas for a much-too-long awaited reunion. It's been almost 6 years since they've all been together and I'm so happy that they're going to have a nice weekend away without wives and children (because let's face it, it's hard to get good visiting in when you have to be a husband and Daddy too!).

Presley and I were especially grateful that Gramma Jan flew in a day early to help us get ready. I don't think P let her out of the playroom the entire day!

She started by making her breakfast...

and showing her how to put her "mate-up" on.

Once the complete princess make-over was complete,

it was off to the kitchen to help me do some baking for the boys.

While I enjoyed the afternoon at the salon, Gramma Jan refreshed P's memory on the excitement of Easter egg hunting.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner before having our first experience with a real Texas storm--complete with nickel-sized hail and the tornado sirens going off. After quickly determining we were outside of the tornado area, we ran to the windows to watch. It was pretty amazing (and scary). Unfortunately, all of the boys flights were delayed and Jeff had a really late night doing the airport pick-ups. What's a Tobler gathering without a little severe weather to kick it off!?!
