Lucia is 10 months old!

Lucia is a big girl now! She has 2 bottom teeth, and the baby proofing of the kitchen will have to happen very soon...

She loves to do anything that BIG sister Violet is up too. She even likes to push Violet in the baby doll stroller. She loves table food and has tons of fun in this nice compact baby walker we found on one of our walks around the neighborhood.

Discovering the stairs is so much fun, she can go all the way up no problem but doesn't know how to get down yet.

She also loves her table activity center and even better she loves to push it around the house like a walker. Right now she says Mamama and Daddada and can wave really well to you. Right now I'm working on blowing kisses. One of Lucia's favorite foods is mac n cheese and any kind of fruit. She loves her baths and bubbles. The minute Chad get's home she starts to get really excited and loves being in her Papi's arms. Lucia loves to travel in the baby backpack or stroller and hates the car seat. She is impossible to change her diaper or clothes, it's a battle each time.
But, we sure love our little Lucia and I have a bad feeling in the near future she will be walking all over the place! (Which mean's Mami is in trouble!)

Strawberry Picking

Here are the girls all ready to do some strawberry picking
at Ward's Berry Farm in Sharon, MA.
Violet with her friend Alan.

Here comes the goat....

Violet showing off the goat's nice ear...
Violet you are suppose to be picking the strawberries not eating them!

Mami was not that smart putting Violet in a white strawberry top...notice the stains.

Yeah, they are that good.

She told me to take a picture of this strawberry...
Lucia hung out and picked strawberries with Mami the whole time. I am so out of shape, and had sore thighs for the last 3 days.

Violet loved petting all the animals on the farm.

Here is the cool vintage playground for the kids. Lucia loved the playground as well! Violet and Lucia had a great day!

These were the BEST strawberries I have ever had. They were red all the way through and super sweet.

Can't wait to go picking again!

Father's Day Weekend...The Berkshires

While walking in the mall one day, Chad was asked "Do you want to win a motorcycle?" His answer was "Oh sure." That lead on to us signing up to hear a timeshare pitch at the Berkshire's in MA. I was not thrilled at all and wondered how long they would keep us with two small children. They promised us only a 90 min presentation. The gifts includes: 2 night stay at the Comfort Inn (which turned out really nice with an indoor pool and everything), 40 dollar gift card, a day pass at the resort, and another 2 night stay at a destination of our choice.
So we packed up the car and headed 3 hours away from home. It was really a beautiful drive and I don't think we would have made it out to see this part of the country.
For dinner the first night we had Indian food, it was my first experience and let's just say "I am hooked!"

Turn's out the sales pitch was only 90 min and they really didn't pressure us at all to buy, which was a huge perk! Here we are at the swimming pool. Violet was so excited she jumped in the pool without her arm floats. It was very scary but Chad pulled her out and she actually was swimming and keeping her head out of the water (I think she could kinda touch the ground too). I just felt bad for her because she had a look of panic on her face. As a side note Chad stepped in the pool with his new running shoes...he was a little sad but this was an a emergency situation.

We took a country drive around the area. Notice the rock on the side of the road painted like a shark?

The views were breathtaking....

We did a drive by of the Tanglewood estate and music venue.

The little towns had the most beautiful homes and quaint little downtown's. Some of the small town's we drove through include: West Stockbridge, Richmond, Lenox, Lee, and Great Barrington.

We went on a river walk in Great Barrington where we also toured around the town and had dinner and some gelato.

The town of Great Barrington.

On Father's day we enjoyed the indoor pool, playground and a nice relaxing drive back home.
We sure love our Papi, he is super with the girls and they love him so much! He spoils his wife and is an awesome handyman and provider to our family.
We sure love you Papi! Happy Father's Day!
*Notice Violet's hair in a pony tail, it's because I told her her hair would turn green if she didn't do it...I think she looks so cute with it up

While Bloging...

While writing my previous post I put Violet at the table with some homemade play dough. Although it worked out great and I was able to post...here is what happened to that play dough. All I could do was laugh. Gramma Jan will have to make us a new batch when she comes and visits!

The trip home from H-E-DOUBLE-HOCKEY-STICKS with a really sweet ending...

Let's just say that our trip home from SC was not the smoothest. While on our way to the airport, we were cruising along when suddenly we came to a complete stop. We were in this stop and slight go traffic for at least an hour. During the hour I decided it was time to call the airline and see if they could bump us to the next flight. Let me tell you and I am sure that most of you know how fustrating it is to talk to the 1-800 airline number's where the person you are speaking to is foreign and you have two kids in the back of the car crying/whining because they are strapped to a very uncomfortable chair for more than they needed to be. So out comes all of our "plane" toys and things to distract them...thus wondering if they are even going to behave on the plane. After several 10-20 min waits on the phone I find out that our "best" bet is to buy new tickets ~$300 each to fly out the next day. Not what we wanted to hear. So we called the rental company to see what it would cost to rent a car one way and drop off in Boston $263.53. Yeah RIGHT we spent a mere $15.00 a day on the vehicle!
So after some thinking we decided that Violet, Lucia and I had to make that plane, and let Chad figure out how he was getting home. As we arrive to the airport I start explaining to Violet that Papi wasn't coming on the plane and that we would see him soon. Holding back the tears (Chad & I ) as we listen to Violet say "no I am going with my
y Papi, I want to go on his plane." This is not what we pictured at all we were suppose to cruise into Boston around 3 pm and have a relaxing rest of the day together. Mind you Violet had not seen Chad for 3 weeks!
So at curbside checking they check us all in even though Chad thought there was no way he was making the plane since he had to return the car. I make my way to security and what do they tell me? "Where is the lap child ticket?" AHHHH are you kidding me?!?! I run back outside because the inside line was so long and they tell me that they can't help me that I need to go to the inside line...what do I do...Jump ahead of everyone (which is totally not my nature) and get them to help me that instant. Of course the person is going super slow "what's the child's name?" "spell that." "What's the birth-date?" DUDE she's not 2 can't you tell!!! Get back through security, they make me take off Lucia's shoes and of course I am in the super slow line. We make it through security and RUN and I am yelling at Violet the whole time, "keep up, come on!"
Of course our gate is 16 and one of the last ones down the hall, we arrive and no one is around. Well, I guess I missed the flight I sad exhaustively and full of sweat. The flight attendant said "No you just made it." "But we have to check that bag." "Oh no you can't the zipper is broken." After she wiggled it for a bit she closed my bag and sent it under the plane at this point I really didn't care.
As I am boarding I am fighting those tears back and letting a few out not know when and how Chad would get home, plus he had the keys to the car and my cellphone charger. My phone only had one bar of battery left..typical.
Get us in our seats, and I check my phone Chad texts me " I am in security." I turn to the flight attendant and say "my husband is in security." The response was "So?"
After a bit I thought for sure they were waiting for him and next thing you know some other guy sits next to me. I get the next text from Chad "I am at the door and they won't let me on."
Crushed I turn off my phone and off to Boston we go.
The guys sitting next to me was super nice and good with the kids so that made things a little easier.
Of course Violet does her #2 business (just my luck) and I had to hand Lucia to a mom with a couple of kids so that I could change her.
We land and I turn on my phone. YEA!! They put Chad on the next plane with no extra charge. Chad's story is interesting so on his way to another gate he decides to buy some lunch when he reaches into his pocket he notices he doesn't' have his wallet. Thankfully the wallet was recovered in security, and he barely made that flight.
Finally reunited after and hour extra we were exhausted and grateful to be together. Another perk our luggage and car was intact and we made it home!

We thought after all of this mess we deserved some Thai food delivered to the house. Kids went right to bed and Chad surprised me with a spa like bedroom that smelled and looked awesome!

New sheet's, new pillows, curtains up and some new decor. I am really spoiled and lucky to have such a great husband.
