Jace's first karate Test! Colton first time sparring!

My little Jace is typically very rambunctous and not usually intimidated by much so I just thought he would be his wild self... but I was wrong.  This was the most serious I have ever seen my little boy.  He was nervous and focused, he wanted that orange belt.  To top things off he tested with the the older kids because we went during Coltons testing time.  There was one other little girl named Anna that was testing up with the big kids so he had one lone comrad. When it was his turn he did great!

This was Coltons first time in his sparring gear.  They both looked like little Michelin Men.  He knocked over his opponent once and then landed a few other jabs.  This is the part of Karate that Daddy's enjoy and Mommy's cringe at.

Jace and Colton break their boards!!

When I saw Jace like this my Mommy heart was breaking... where is my happy boy.

All that focus was worth it!  He moved up to an orange belt!  Colton moved up to a green belt.  Way to go boys!

Flag Football! Cowboys vs. Ravens

Colton was assigned the quarter back position against the ravens.  He did pretty good, there is no running or flag pulling in the QB spot.  There was one possession he even went audible and just threw it to his friend Miles and then Miles scored a touchdown.  It was very exciting. I think he ended the game with three touchdown passes and then two of his hand-offs scored a TD.  Way to go Bud!

Karate Practice

Over spring break Mommy had a chance to take the kids to Karate practice.  It was very fun to see what goes on.  If was fun hanging out with Jillian too.  She is becoming a little girl and she enjoys hanging out with me as much as I enjoy hanging out with her.  She is so patient when it comes to all the activities we drag her too between all of the Deatherage boys athletic endeavors!!  Jace and Colton did great and I snapped of shot of them with Mr. Donner, the Karate Instructor.Posted by Picasa

Flag Football! Cowboys Vs. Chargers

Flag football is so fun for Mommy to watch.  Jace and Jillian prefer playing at the park near by so Mommy gets to see bits and pieces of the game.  Colton is still getting the hang of the flag pulling thing.  He doesn't quite understand why he can't just tackle the guy.  And well he runs similar to a great Dane so he hasn't scored a touchdown either.  But he is very competitive and loves to be playing and competing! Posted by Picasa

Dad's Helpers!

Jace, Scout, and Colton decided to help Dad put in a sand box. They dug up the grass, picked up some sand, mounted the wood on top of some weed mat, and then dumped the sand in.  They all did excellent!  Scout keeps trying to help with that weed mat.. most of it got attacked by the little guy but the sand box is still very functional.  Great job everyone!

Making her big sis proud!!

Fallon made club next this spring!  I think I was as excited as she was.  I couldn't wait to watch her.  She came to Boise for one of her tournaments so we camped out in the gym and watched as much as we could.  She is getting better at reading the defense and anticipating a little more and has great ball control.  I am so excited to watch next year too!Posted by Picasa

Shenanigans!

Captain America/Thomas the train looked too cute for me to not get my camera out.  I am so lucky to be saved by all of these dreamy superheros running around the house!!

Laundry baskets!! Why are they so fun. (We used to ride them down the stairs so I am grateful they are just a train for now... Stay tuned for more laundry adventures.

February Funnies

When Grandma was in town visiting Jillian followed her into the bathroom.  As Jillian was watching grandma she said "don't worry grandma, you won't fall in the potty because you have a big bottom"

As we were watching the Super bowl Jillian had to get her "princess" on (tutu) so she could sing and dance too the national anthem.

Colton had a dream that he was kissing a pretty girl at chuck e cheese.

Jillian tells a man in the hot tub that he has boobies like mommy has boobies.

Colton started football.  Anyone that came to the house or he saw in the grocery store he would ask them "Did you know there is a new football team in town?"  and then proceed to say.. "its the cowboys"

Miss Sydney turns 5!

Our dear friend Sydney turned 5 and had us over to help her celebrate.  We played on the trampoline and ate chocolate cupcakes big and small!

Jillian's First Date!!

Daddy was fortunate enough that he had the pleasure of teaching the lead role in the Cinderella play at Kuna High School.  As soon as he heard word of the play he bought two tickets and had a certain someone in mind to court for the evening.  Daddy had arranged for the Cinderella from the play to come talk with his Cinderella so he was very excited to treat his little princess to an evening out.  Mommy rushed home from work and Daddy had done a pretty good job getting her all dolled up.  All that was left for Mommy to help with was a little up doo and she was ready to roll.  They were both adorable and I took pictures like it was her first prom date!! I was even a little nervous.  She did great and almost stole the show, all eyes were on her when the real Cinderella came to talk to her so she became a little bashful and only wanted to speak with Daddy.  She looked so cute!!  She is the prettiest princess I have ever seen.

Check out my up doo in the mirror!  Jilli has a ton of hair!

Valentine's Day at CLC!

Valentine's Day landed on a Tuesday this year.  That meant that we got to Party at CLC with our Pre-K and Pre-School classes.  Colton brought his friend Bucky and some Carrot Cookies to share because those are bucky's favorite treat.  They sat around a table and had a feast and then played all sorts of games.  Jillian and Jace had a party too.  They played some heart bingo and made a cute little love bug.  In preparation for the big party it was easy for me to see that Valentine's Day will be a treat for Jillian.  She loved every part of the Valentine process and was involved with as much as she could.  Jace never slowed down enough to even sit at the table when making Valentines and Colton rushed through and did what was asked and then he was off to play too.  Daddy helped finish the boys while Mommy supervised Jillian.  This year was most likley the first year Brian ever participated too.  I am sure Grandma Louise was busy every Valentine Eve finishing up his Valentines.  Just an observation.  After our fun party at CLC we were off to Bounce for our second party with all of our friends from Closest to Home.  Needless to say The Deatherages are very loved and had a great day.  As for me I am very lucky to have such a wonderful Valentine myself.
