Pinks, greens and and a little white

A little creativity using the gorgeous Country Rose collection from Kaisercraft.

Apart from creating with purple tones, my next favourite colour scheme involves pinks, greens and whites.  It's such a fresh, clean and refreshing colour combination.

Have to say, when I saw these papers they had to be added to my stash.

All sorts of flowers - that were just sitting in front of me whilst I was playing.

Stamens, muslin [cheesecloth], gesso, a little layering.

And on these tags I went with the star shape as well.

Add a little corrugated card [ex pizza box packaging] between the layers for height.

Live, love, laugh - sounds good to me.

Happy creating everyone.

A little creativity for the Flying Unicorn

Hi everyone and welcome to my 'Today Post'.

I am sharing a little creativity using the gorgeous Riddersholm Design papers from their Newport collection.

First up a mini pizza box using the pinks and browns in their 'Newport' range, this one is their 'Gobelin' paper.

There are numerous tutorials on how to make a mini pizza box and I have always used this template.

It's quick, it's easy to follow, it's easy to remember and more importantly, if you use a heavy weight 12x12 patterned paper, just like this one, you can whip up two mini pizza boxes from the one piece of patterned paper.  Bonus!!!!

When I make my pizza boxes, I always make a band to slide over my pizza box to keep it closed.

I've cut a piece of paper 1 1/2"wide, 12 inch long piece and then I have used my lace doily edge punch and punched along each edge and then cut another strip of paper, not as wide as the other, inked the edges and adhered to the punched edge strip.

I've used a score board and scored along the band to wrap around my pizza box and then adhered the edges together to join them.

I've then used a piece of corrugated cardboard as the base, adhered to the strip band and built up an embellishment cluster using twine, muslin [cheesecloth] and foliage and topped it off with some gorgeous Petaloo forget-me-not blooms.

***

Let me share another project with you.  This time a little creating with the gorgeous blues in the Newport range.

Did that whet your appetite a little?

Let me share ...

I have used a Kaisercraft wooden polaroid frame as the base, actually I have used two frames.

One I have painted a charcoal grey and the other a lilac colour.

I've applied two coats of paint, let them both dry naturally and then I have lightly sanded the edges.

I have cut two pieces of this paper.

I've sandwiched a heavy piece of corrugated card between each layer.

So it really is quite thick.

And then I have embellished and layered.

A Kaisercraft clear butterfly, corrugated cardboard, blue cotton, Petaloo Botanica bloom, leaf and pearls, a little muslin [cheesecloth], some miscellaneous blue flowers and some Flying Unicorn metal adornments. To finish the cluster, a gorgeous butterfly.

And a beautiful quote ... typed it up, cut it into strips and inked the edges.

***

Using the gorgeous blues again, this time using the 'Beach' paper.

A boxed card.

Sometimes you make a card and it's a little bulky [okay, in my case, most of the time] - this one is popped inside a wee open ended box.

And to finish off - you knew I would be sharing a tag [or two].

I have used one of the Prima flower dies and cut two flowers, scrunched them up a little, added a small piece of corrugated card between the layers for height, cut out a little foliage, layered that in amongst the layers with a little muslin and a few strands of pearls wrapped around in a circle

Happy creating everyone.
Until next time,

Catching up with long lost friends ...

I have been away the last few days at a scrapping retreat and I had an absolutely fabulous time catching up with friends that I hadn't seen in ... ummmmmmm ... cough, cough ... far too long.

I caught up with some of those 'online imaginary friends' that have been friends for a few years now and are no longer, just 'online imaginary friends', but friends in real life now too.

The scrappy world and the online world that was once such a vast world - well I guess it still is really - but wowser, it really has brought so many people together.

Technology really is incredible.

Now when one has been away playing with papers, oops, being crafty, one really should probably have more to share than perhaps one has ... now that could be as a result of laughing, talking, a little more laughing, eating, sleeping, laughing - all of the above.

Over the coming days though I do promise to share a little crafty stuff - so hopefully you will stick around and swing by and visit and say hello.

You never know, some of that crafty stuff might just need to be sent away, to bring a smile.

Now that's a thought.

First off, let me share a double easel card ...

I had a wee play with this gorgeous Prima paper ...

and these fabulous Prima metal dies

and voila ... I made this ...

and a wee close up ...

Happy creating everyone.

How about another one ...

Hi there and welcome back. Yep, I'm on a roll. I realised that I hadn't shared this layout - another one ... White, green and orang...
