A little creativity ...

Wowser, did I have a play with this creation - well I'm sure that you can see that I have.

Gesso liberally applied to the whole canvas.

Strips of paper from the C'est Magnifique monthly kit, were applied, although have to say the majority of them are now buried under the middle of the canvas embellishments.

Modelling paste and a Kaisercraft clock template have been used ... these templates are relatively inexpensive and really are a must add to your stash - honest.

Then I grabbed a few glimmermists and sprayed and sprayed some more.

Then it was a case of adding a little bit of this and a little bit of that and a few flowers and heating up the hot glue gun and going for it ...

and cos I love the way this canvas turned out you were always going to get a wee close up
 - cos I can!!!

Ta da ...

This particular canvas has now been gifted to a very special friend and it's her legs that you can see hanging out of the boot [and her hubby's] ... just saying.

Right then, if you are out and about tonight, enjoy yourself, be careful and enjoy celebrating the New Year.

Not sure what we are up to yet ... time will tell.

Black with two ...

Black with two ... and the two would be silver and red and you are allowed to use a little white ...

and so I played ...

voila!!!

So one needs to have a black cardstock background - yep, can do that.

Silver - yep can do that too
Red - yep can do that too

and a little bit of white for good measure

So boy-oh-boy did I play with this one.

Slate and Charcoal glimmermists on the background - a little hard to see, but I can assure you that I did use them - just saying.

So to get a little more silver going on I've used staples, silver bling dots, silver crystals, silver jingle bells for a little bit of fun and as well as that I've used pewter on my chipboard star - you normally use it for little dots but I used it rather liberally and then rolled it on with a sponge roller, dried it, then used modelling paste over the top with a Kaisercraft clock template.

And one of those papers that I have used for heaps of layers - well it actually has a black border and the inside of the paper is truly silver/grey with writing.  Just doesn't show up overly well in this photo.

I've also tucked in a wee Christmas bauble, see the silver and red baubles tucked in under the black flower ... a Christmas theme - well I'm quite possibly pushing my luck in that regard, but silver bells, silver and red baubles ... I think that I've got it covered.  The photo - school's out and Christmas is knocking on our door ... well these things are open to interpretation somewhat.

Could not for the life of me find my silver dauber thingymajig - buried in my scrappy mess somewhere ... I'm sure that it will come to light sooner or later.

Right then - creating, just cos ... not for DT assignments or anything else ... just cos I was surfing and found the black with two challenge website.

Deadline is tomorrow, nothing like leaving it to the last minute.

You could play too ...
Happy creating.

Quick and easy ...

Scrapping papers, die cuts and adhesive foam dots, throw in a hot glue gun, a few baubles, a little muslin, curl thin strips of paper and voila ...

Not the run of the mill wrapping paper ... but I'm sure a few teachers would love a wee Christmas treat wrapped up like that - just a thought.

And it's the thought that counts and the fact that it is homemade shall we say [to a certain degree].

Just sharing.

8 days a week ...

nope ... not quite

How about 365 Days ... yep, that would be another gorgeous release from the team at Kaisercraft.

We all had a month each to showcase papers from the collection and I got November.

Here's my Miss November!

Very appropriate ... her birthday month.

I love my elegant scroll die flourish thing ... will be using that a whole lot more over the coming months.

For the wall ...

Materials used : PP883 paper pad, P879 Thyme, P972 Apple, F666 paper blooms – black,RB891 rub ons – Friends, Kaiser stamp, CT735 collectables – Pickled Pear

Extras : canvas, flowers, baubles, gesso, modelling paste, muslin, mask, Staz on ink, variety of glimmermists

I’ve really had a play putting this canvas together.  Remember back a few weeks ago when Hetty showed everyone a technique using gesso and paper as a background on her plaque on the Kaisercraft blog... well I’ve obviously had that in the back of my mind since then ... so very inspirational ... because that’s exactly what I’ve done, but using a canvas as my base.
I’ve applied gesso directly to my canvas, paper scraps, more gesso.  I've misted, then I’ve used Staz on ink and a Kaiser stamp, I’ve used modelling paste and a mask and randomly applied the image and then I’ve layered and layered and then I’ve layered some more.  I've used one of the rub ons from the 'friends' rub ons and applied it to a die cut from the paper pad.

A gift for a very special friend.
