Homework assignment

this week with the girls at Country Papercraft across the ditch was set by Mish ... and her subject was art ...

Our homework - to use one 12x12 piece of Bazzill - only one piece, whatever papers etc and embellishments and to use punches and stamps that can be bought from CPC ...

My Bazzill was a burgundy colour and I teamed it up with BG Wassail paper, added a little bling, fibres, a peg, holly, the word 'Believe' and an MM Christmas flower and I made a Christmas cracker.

I grabbed my threading water punch and cut and punched strips, then I I handcut each wee segment and glue dotted each segment to the punched circle [underneath the circle] and then popped another circle on the back of it. That bit was a pain in the butt, but I got there in the end.

It looks really cute in real life ... and this one didn't take that long to make up ... remember I made one of these last year, well that one took forever, but this time around cos I kinda knew what I was doing ... I whipped up the basics of it last night and finished it off this morning.

Really pleased with the way it turned out in the end ... I plan on using this one as a Christmas gift this year ... now I wonder how many more of these wee babies I should whip up ... ROFLMAO ... time will tell.

and this weekend ... apart of being arty farty with my Christmas cracker, I've spent many, many hours in my scrap room and I wasn't being creative in any way, shape or form ... bugger it all!!!

I have been having a major clean out ... oops that should perhaps read, clean up. I kid you not ... I couldn't walk through the doorway and reach the window to open the curtains without standing on stuff left, right and centre ... so something had to go and it has!!!!

Let's just say that I have been a little ruthless!!!! AND ... I can now see the carpet ... ROFLMAO ...

As a result, I've got a few RAK's going out over the next week, so if you receive an envelope or package in the mail and open it and think what on earth am I going to do with that ... and you don't want it, I will NOT be offended if you pass it on to someone else ... truly and then wait for it ... I packaged up a few things, sealed them, without putting names on first ... so talk about a lucky dip ...

OMG and I have to come clean about something else ... I thought that I had sent someone a birthday parcel way back in March. Well I had organised something and thought that I had sent it ... well it didn't go any further than my scrap room - lol !!! Yep, I found it this morning ... I told you I had a mess in there and I wasn't kidding! So belated birthday greetings to ... [not telling] but I'm sure she is going to giggle when she receives it and you know what else ... I. HAVE. ABSOLUTELY. NO. IDEA. WHAT. IS. INSIDE. IT!!!!!!

Scary stuff ...

So there you have it ... remember I said I can now see my carpet on the floor ... well I still can't see much of my desk ...

Soooooooooooooooooo ... I'm outta here, had better go and do something about the mess on my desk as well.

Does it never end ???!!!

Enjoy your week everyone.

Meet my friend ...

Bazz ... now that would be Bazz as in Bazzill ..

yep, you know what I am talking about ... Bazzill cardstock.

I'm thinking most scrappers will find a little Bazzill in their stash, some of us will find a lot ... ROFLMAO.

Anyway, the girls at Scrappin Patch have a challenge running atm with nothing other than Bazzill ... no un-Bazzill embellishments of any kind - I kid you not.

So ... I dug deep!!!

We have black dotted Bazzill cardstock, love this stuff. We have white dotted Bazzill cardstock, love this stuff too ... with a fake stitching line going on, inked with both burgundy and pinecone inks and curled edges. We also have pink dotted Bazzill cardstock and guess what ... I love this stuff too!!!! I've scalloped the edge, funny that and once again used my hole punch ... as if!!! I've also inked and curled as well. Nothing unusual in that either.

I've found a piece of pale pink Bazzill and used one of my Prima stamps and stamped a heart shape with my burgundy ink.

Now then ... what I've also done is grabbed another sheet of white Bazzill cardstock, used my flourishes disk in my Slice and cut out heaps of flourishes. I've then grabbed my silver Adirondack dauber and inked them all and put my layout together like this ...

and I left it like that and put it up in the gallery with nothing on the heart ...

Now there was a reason for that ...

Cos I just had to add a little something, not much, but a little something, after I put it up in the gallery ...

Sometimes you just have to do that ... and after all, it's my layout, so I figure, that I'm allowed !!!!

It wasn't much ... but I had a little silver something or other from some flowers, silver netting, so I popped that on top of the heart, found some bling alphas - used for their initials and some pearls and silver thready/wire stuff ... you have to recycle some things girls - lol.

Then I just added just a little bit of bling and I'm a happy camper now ... well I'm nothing but honest!!!

On that note ... I really do have to do something about the state of the floor in my scrap room. We won't talk too much about my scrap desk either, just quietly ... but I can only take a few steps these days as I enter my scrap room before I stand on anything.

It's not good in there.

So, I will say night ...

I'm still here ...

honest ...

Sometimes though life really is like a roller coaster. There aren't enough hours in the day and it doesn't matter how hard you try, you keep trying to squeeze extra things into your day and they just aren't a happening thing people ... you know what I mean?!?!?!

The last couple of weeks have gone in a blur ... think click your fingers type thing ... gone in a flash ... just like that.

Well I want some of that time back ... the time thief is really starting to p*ss me off, big time ... he can just move along I've decided.

Gone in a blink of an eye, that's truly what it feels like - ROFLMAO.

Last week we headed up to Dunners on the Friday for a long weekend. Sometimes you just have to do these things. A little shopping on Friday afternoon, well if I'm being 110% honest, that would be a whole lot of shopping - sitting here sniggering to myself ... think bags for Africa, well that would be moi - and I'm honest!!!

Out for dinner on Friday night at a bar - previously named Harley's and to us, that's what we will always remember it as - a name change now - The Baa ... well hello ...

But anyway, I had the most scrummiest, yummiest chicken and something rather salad - big chunks of bacon in it ... very 'noice' it was!!! washed it down with a couple of drinks, as you do and headed back to the motel. I was totally exhausted. It's hard work don't ya know, shopping and eating and drinking - ROFLMAO.

Saturday dawned and wouldn't you know it ... there was a little more shopping on the cards, a tiki tour around the University, a flat inspection, takeaways for dinner and then we headed off to the rugby ... and that's about all I will say on that subject. You are never going to win a game of rugby playing like school boys and you are never going to win a game of rugby when the ref can't and won't see 50 bleedin forward passes to save himself ... stop here ... not another word said.

Sunday up and away and checked out of our motel. Mr Friz dropped me off to visit some of the girls in Dunners that meet up every month [well sometimes 3-weekly intervals - lol] for half an hour-ish for a natter. Good to catch up with them. Mich, Naomi and Carol and some of the other ladies that went to scrap camp ... looked like they were having fun and they were being very creative.

Then we went tiki touring here and there and made the drive home. Weather-wise the weekend, well our time spent in Dunners was absolutely glorious ... driving home though, it all turned to custard, need I say more!!!

On the creativity front, not much scrapping going on ... only a couple of layouts this week, one I can't share atm and this one I can ...

This was my homework assignment with the team across the ditch at Country Papercraft in Oz ...

We were getting physical [well to a certain degree] ... lol.

4 pics ... depicting movement ... baby standing up against couch, grabbed hat, plonked on butt, hat missed head, over back of head and then voila ... pulled on head ... priceless ...

Then we had to use a combination of at least products and techniques ... so ... I handcut scallop shape, punched holes, inked, curled, distressed, two lots of ink, BG pp, pearls, bling flourish, tulle, Prima flowers, brads, play ticket [RAK], felt butterfly, flower stamens for antennae, handmade embellie [which I received in one of Neen's - little things kits], rub on butterfly ... everything covered [hopefully]!!!

Homework assignment now handed in and this is what I put together.

Definitely a whole lot of circular layouts happening again atm ... but that's okay, I can handle that. They don't all follow one and other nor are they housed in any one particular album ... so most people would never know ... lol.

So there you have it ...

I had a couple of incoming emails earlier this week and now have two layouts showing in the BG gallery - so I'm absolutely stoked about that!!!

I sent a layout away for publication having had a play with Lime Rickey papers - another ... woo hoo, go me!!! And as well as that ... my commissioning letter/acceptance arrived for a layout to be published in Scrapbooking Memories - two editions away I think ... in number 5 you will find me.

So all in all ... I'm a happy wee camper - lol.

Right then, if you are still with me ... good on ya - you need an award for hanging in there ... ROFLMAO.

Best I go and get some make up on and get dressed. Have to wrap up warm. It's Saturday and N is playing rugger. Not sure if I have said anything on my blog ... not only does he play Saturday rugby these days, he has also made the school league team ... OMG that boy needs to give his body a rest ... but will he listen ... ummmmmmmmmmmm ... that would be a NO!!!!!!

So at the moment, he is playing rugby, rugby league and indoor cricket!!! I have to check with him on a daily basis as to whether I am picking him up on the way home from work these days and at what time and can only hope he has the right gear with him ... I can't keep up!!!

I'm outta here, wrap up warm and enjoy the weekend.

Moving along now ...

and my homework for week 4 is now done and dusted with the girls across the ditch at Country Papercraft.

Our homework assignment this week covered architecture. I needed white space - yep, a double page layout for an extra few points and had to be about our house, our home, our dream home type thing ...

I have had a play with BG papers. I've got a feeling I've used Marrakech and Ambrosia papers with this one.

My journalling reads :

Blue skies, balmy temperatures, sun-kissed skin, lazy days and loving nights, freshly baked bread, chilled wine and cheese, grapes plucked from the vine, the hustle and bustle of the local market, windy cobbled streets, fresh flowers, trinket toes and bright billowing gypsy skirts; perhaps I’ve read too many soppy Mills and Boon’s books over the years, but I could call a beautiful white washed villa somewhere in the Greek Islands ... my home!

I spent a few hours with Miss Meg yesterday afternoon and scrapped quite contentedly ... only one complaint ... yep ... the time just disappeared just like that ... that time thief caught up with me again - lol!!! I'm getting a bit of sick of him catching me!!!!

I started playing with some Wassail papers as well ... so might, just might find a little more 'me' time this afternoon at some stage to keep playing, oops, to keep being creative.

We've had a bobby dazzler of a frost overnight and ummmmmmmmmmmm ... shall we say, it's more than just a little bit on the cold side - a real nip in the air. The boys were up early this morning, away out for a shot - it's amazing what a duck shooter will do ... silly buggers!!!!

On that note ... whatever you do today, keep warm.

How about another one ...

Hi there and welcome back. Yep, I'm on a roll. I realised that I hadn't shared this layout - another one ... White, green and orang...
