Christmas in Utah

On Christmas Eve we went to Coconut Cove with Brian and Carrie's family. It was good to get the kid's energy out.

Carrie and I enjoyed the massaging chairs while the kids played.

Later that evening we had Christmas Eve dinner of lasagna, salad, bread, and ice cream cake roll.

We also decorated gingerbread houses.

Kelli made a hot chocolate charcuterie board to go with dessert.

Every year we act out the nativity. As the only boy present, Austin had the role of Joseph.

After the cousins left we opened out Christmas pajamas. They aren't the ones I wanted but everything sold out so fast this year I had to take what I could get.

The sizes were a bit off...

Christmas morning we made the kids stay in bed until 7:00. They saw what Santa brought and were all happy with their gifts.

After we had breakfast and waited for great grandma Jensen to come over and open presents.

The kids were happy with every present they got this year which doesn't always happen. As Austin said "sometimes you get presents you don't really like and have to pretend."

7 months pregnant

The day after Christmas we went and hiked to the Ogden Christmas tree with Brian and Carrie's family.

It was a little icy and we all slipped several times but luckily no harm done.

After our hike we went and got some Thai food for the adults and pizza for the kids. Then headed to Brian and Carrie's house to see the animals and watch a movie.

The girls all wanted a picture of them holding the cat.

Sunday we had Sacrament with my parents and then headed to Logan. We visited with Oma and Papa and had lunch before visiting Kelli and Ian and then headed for home.

Austin turns 9

Austin's birthday was on Sunday this year and since we don't currently go to church we had plenty of time for him to open presents and eat his breakfast of choice- egg and sausage breakfast sandwiches.

Austin's favorite gift was a hoover board. He's wanted one for months.

For birthday dinner Austin wanted hamburger and a funfetti/cookie dough ice cream cake. Kaylee made and decorated the cake for him.

December Activities

The month of December I came up with family activity every day. One of the first was making decorations for an assisted living center. Originally it was supposed to be a young women class activity but with the rise of covid cases in our area activities were cancelled again.

We made around 40 door decorations.

We also made cards and a little gift for some widows in our ward.

We had our annual Grinch Dinner with the Biehl Family. We feasted on rare who roast beast, who hash and other delicious food.

We made and decorated sugar cookies...

Saw the lights at Scentsy...

and had a sleepover by the Christmas tree. Other activities included a family game night, movie nights, candy cane hunt, and an indoor snowball fight.

We got Christmas shirts for work- Santa's favorite wound crew.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving morning we did a 2 mile turkey trot with the Partridges.

Later we got together for Thanksgiving dinner.

After dinner we made turkey oreos.

Our annual Thankful Tree

We made our own Thanksgiving dinner for leftovers.

The kids have wanted a trampoline for a long time. They have been saving up their allowance since we moved to out house and finally earned enough.

After Thanksgiving we put up some Christmas decor.
