End of Winter Break

The end of December meant the last class with these girls. They move up to the older class. I've really loved this group of girls.

New Years Eve we joined the Partridge and Raymond families for scones at Merritt's cafe in Boise. The scones were so good!!

After scones we went to the Partridge's house and played games. I took Kaylee and her friend to her first stake dance around 8:30 and she stayed until midnight. The rest of us didn't get home until 12:30. It was a late night. We've never let the kids stay up until midnight before and they were grumpy enough the next few days that I don't know if we'll do it again anytime soon.

We did some sparklers New years night.

Kaylee had to do service hours for a class at school. One of her projects was to make blankets for the animal shelter. We went and delivered them and got to play with the cats.

January 1 meant that Brooke was officially in Young Women's and able to go to the temple. They had a cousins temple trip with the Oto's. I think it was a great first experience for Brooke.

Afterwards I took them all out for ice cream!

Christmas

Sunday after church we drove up to the cabin to spend Christmas. There was a lot of snow. The kids were thrilled and went sledding as soon as they could.

They also dug out a snow cave with the help of dad and Uncle Spencer.

It was fun to play outside. Sunday and Monday it was just us playing in the snow but Tuesday Matt and Tara and Peter and Lila came up,

They also went for Teryx rides- the kids went sledding down the hill and the teryx brought them back up.  That reminded me of my childhood days sledding at our cabin and a snowmobile pulling us back up.

On Christmas Eve Jake and I went snow shoeing with Matt and Tara. It was so fun and so beautiful.

Before we left Logan Kaylee helped Oma make gingerbread and cut out all the houses. Kaylee loves baking so it was a great activity for them.

On Christmas Eve we did our traditional gingerbread house making/decorating.

That night the kids got to open one present from Oma and Papa. Of course it was pajamas and slippers.

Christmas morning we made the kids wait until 7:00. They woke everyone up by singing Christmas songs.

The kids got to all "opened" their stockings first and then checked out their Santa presents. Emma was happy to get a LOL doll, a Jojo bow, and some squishmallows.

Brooke got squishmallows, backpack, robe and clothes.

Kaylee got clothes which is all she wanted.

Austin got a drone, clothes and squishmallows.

After all the morning festivities-presents and breakfast the pellet guns were brought out to shoot the gingerbread houses we'd made the day before. It's another Williams family tradition.
Kaylee and Austin were pretty good shots.

I struggled because I couldn't keep my left eye closed to aim. Jake had to cover it for me and then I did just fine.

Unfortunately we had to drive home on Christmas day so after getting the van unstuck from the driveway we hit the road.

When we got home there were more presents waiting under the tree. We all got new sleeping bags and electric toothbrushes. The kids also got presents from Grandma and Grandpa. They all loved what they got- Emma flipped out when she got lol dolls, Austin loved his remote control car, Brooke got a big squishmallow and Kaylee an art kit.

The kids got Mr. Grinch socks for Jake- and he got clothes and a wallet.

I was totally spoiled with an apple watch, computer, and my parents gave me a box of pictures from my childhood. It was so fun to look through them.

To finish off our Christmas week we went to see the lights at Scentsy.

Austin's Baptism

Austin was baptized Dec. 21, 2019 in Logan, Utah

It was a great day. Spencer and Kelli gave talks and Sage and Kaylee played their violins while Jake and Austin were changing. Brooke and I were able to be the witnesses when he was baptized.

We had almost our whole family there to support him plus the Bradshaw family.

They were some of our besties in Lubbock.

After the baptisms we had soup, rolls, and desserts. It was all delicious.
