Thanksgiving

Day 2

Texas shaped waffle with Brooke's initials 💓

Once we finally reached Sea World on Wednesday we let the kids run around in the Bay of Play. They wanted to go in it all day on Tuesday so after being stuck at the Alamo for hours I thought they should do something fun.

Next we made let the kids all go on a ride that scared them. Kaylee and Brooke were both tall enough to go on the Steel Eel so we took turns - Jake and Brooke and then me and Kaylee.

It was really tall so it was very brave of them to go. They wouldn't do it again so I guess it was a little too scary. I have to admit I didn't like the first drop either but after that it was good.

We saw the penguins on the way to Journey to Atlantis ride.
Austin really wanted to go on Journey to Atlantis so we pulled out the ponchos (it was a water ride). He was so excited to go on it. It wasn't quite what he expected. He didn't like the drop and didn't want to go again. He was brave to try it.
 Flamingos!

This aquarium reminded me of the one from Finding Dory.

The dolphin show was my favorite. They performed to music from the Nutcracker. Kaylee said it was way better than the ballet.

The belugas performed with the dolphins.

The kids convinced us to go to the last show of the day- Shamu's Christmas at 8:00. Usually we have all the kids in bed by that time but we figured why not!

Emma didn't last and fell asleep during the show and stayed asleep all the way back to the hotel and stayed asleep for the night.

We found these two sleeping right next to each other. 💕

Remember the Alamo

Wednesday morning we decided to go to the Alamo for a bit and then take the kids to a children's museum - The DoSeum.
On the way to the Alamo a light came on in our van and it started stuttering. It didn't sound good and wasn't running well. We pulled in to a parking lot and decided Jake needed to take the van to get fixed. The kids and I got some snacks and headed to the Alamo. It was interesting for maybe 30 minutes and then the kids were done. There was lots of whining and complaining and fighting over little things. They were seriously driving me nuts!

There were pretty grounds to walk around and a small museum. We watched a movie about the Alamo and listened to a presentation on 1830's medical care (I'm so glad I wasn't living then!!) Two hours had passed and still no Jake and no car.
The repair shop said they would give Jake a ride to the Alamo to join us and we were all going to the river walk for lunch. We kept waiting and waiting and finally he told us just to go with out him. We walked to a Subway down the street and had lunch.

After lunch we went back to the Alamo and walked around and around.... The kids were more pleasant after they ate. They finally played and didn't complain so much. Jake was told the car would be done in 10-15 minutes and finally 45 minutes later it was done. Jake came and picked us up after 4 hours at the Alamo we were so done. I never want to go there again. I think we will always "remember the Alamo."

Sea World

Tuesday we went to Sea World for an early Christmas present for the kids. We left at 7 am and arrived at Sea World around 12:40 just in time for opening at 1:00. The kids were good in the car. They've become pretty good travelers.

We went on some rides first thing. We thought it might get busy later but luckily it never really did.

Emma was a little nervous but was brave and I think she liked the Shamu coaster.

She definitely liked the carousel much better.

Sea World was all decorated for Christmas.

Feeding the ducks was pretty fun.

In between shows we went on more rides and took pictures and saw other animals.

Shamu's Christmas Miracle was a fun show. The orcas are so amazing to watch.

This is in a giant snow globe but doesn't look like it from this angle.

I told all the kids to act scared of the abominable snowman in this picture but I was the only one that did it- ha ha. :)

Picture with Rudolph and Clarice.

There were 5 million Christmas lights around the park. It was pretty at night.

Emma fell asleep on the way out. It was a long day and she did really well.

Family Pictures

During our family pictures Brooke had a run in with a tree. She came out bleeding and with a stick protruding from her head. I was really worried about her eye at first but luckily it was ok and luckily we had done most of our pictures before this happened.

This was the only picture post injury and you can't even tell anything happened.

I usually stress out a bit about family pictures but seeing these makes it all worth it.
 I love them all.
