Last weekend Jake and I ran our first 5K.This was my motivation to start exercising again after having Austin.  I don't love running but I want to, so this forced me to do it.

It was really fun! We ran through the zoo but it was hard to see any animals because there were so many people. Jake said it was a date (even though we didn't run together) since we were there without kids - ha ha- can you tell we don't get out much these days?

These girls love to dig and play in the dirt so planting flowers was right up their ally. We needed a little bit of  color outside our house. This will be good practice for me. I've never really had a place to grow plants before so we'll see if I can keep them alive. Austin watched from his bouncy seat inside the house.

Remember this? Kaylee cut her hair when she was 3. It ended up so short some people thought she was a boy. I thought she'd learned her lesson.

I guess not! Kaylee cut her hair and Brooke's hair this past week! Kaylee is now sporting some really short bangs and Brooke's hair is shoulder length (with a few short pieces here and there.) I hope she has learned her lesson this time! I decided to get a haircut too since everyone else did (no, I didn't let Kaylee cut it.)

Kaylee and Brooke went to a really cute birthday party yesterday. They love to play dress up and have tea parties so this was perfect!

I think Brooke really looks like my little sister in this picture. What do you think Kelli?

Me

My mom sent these pictures of me when I was a baby. I think my kids look a little bit like me :)

4 Months

My big boy is growing so fast! He loves grabbing his toes. He is starting to grab toys and is rolling from stomach to back. Austin is a belly sleeper so sometimes he rolls onto his back when he is supposed to be sleeping and isn't very happy about it.We've been having a rough time sleeping this past week. He has been up every 3 hours. It's like he's a new born again.

He had his 4 month check up today...
13lbs 8oz -20%
Two different nurses measured him and got 2 completely different results....
One got 24 3/4 inches and the other got 26 1/2. The Dr went with the 26 which is 90% for height. I think he is closer to 25 inches which is about 40%

         Tummy Time....

I pulled out the old Johnny Jump up yesterday. This is the one I used to use as a baby.

Everyone tells me Austin is a clone of me and the girls. Here are the 4 month pictures of all my kids. Brooke and Austin have the same hair- pretty bald compared to Kaylee.

Bluebonnets

Spring time in Texas means Bluebonnets are everywhere. We stopped by the side of the road on the way home from preschool one day for pictures.

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend compete with lots of egg hunting.

The first was our play group egg hunt.
The Easter Bunny came Saturday morning and the girls collected their candy and a few small toys (sidewalk chalk, jump ropes, lip gloss).
The Easter goodies- (Austin was still sleeping but wasn't forgotten by the bunny. He got a new hat.) I asked the girls to smile and this is what I got. :)
We went to our friend's Easter egg hunt at their Ranch. The kids played a game while the dads went and hid the eggs.

There is a big yard at the ranch and there were tons of eggs. My favorite was the one Brooke found that had a coupon for 8 free nuggets at Chic fil a!
This is how Austin hunted for eggs. I didn't know the poor boy couldn't see the whole time. He looks so cute in is new hat though. (Notice his hand- the "t" once again.)

My cute Easter kids!
I wanted to take their picture outside, but there was a nice thunderstorm after church.

We had Jake's friend/co-worker and his wife over for dinner and then colored eggs with them. It was a good family weekend. We did try and teach the importance of Easter to our girls. We watched  The Testaments and talked about Jesus being resurrected and the great blessing that is to us. I am so grateful for my Savoir! I know He lives and because of Him I can have my family forever!!!
