Easter

Jake and I made it home for Idaho Saturday night- just in time for the Easter Bunny to come. Despite going to bed late they were all up early to see what the bunny brought.

We attempted to get some pictures after church but none of them turned out very well.

The girls all got new dresses. I tried to convince Kaylee to match Brooke and Emma but she thinks she's too old to match her sisters.

I wasn't well prepared for Easter dinner since we had been out of town. Kaylee helped decorate the table and we even pulled out the nice dishes. I got a carrot cake at the store the week before and put it in the freezer until Saturday night. It was no longer frozen when we ate it but it wasn't very good.

I'm grateful for my Savior- that He lives so I can be with my family forever!

Kid Fun

While we were gone we left the kids with friends. Emma and Austin were with the Dahls and Kaaylee and Brooke were with the Shorts. The kids had so much fun I don't think they even missed us! I was so happy the kids were all healthy and I didn't have to worry about them at all!

They played in puddles at the park.

Took the dog for a walk

colored Easter eggs (which was good since we never ended up doing that at home.)

Kaylee and Brooke went with the Shorts to Ranch Day. I was so sad to miss it but I'm glad the girls got to go.

I'm so grateful for good friends who took care of my kids and sent me pictures! I'm also happy that the kids were really good and got along well.

House Hunting

Just before Easter Jake and I went to Idaho to look for a house to buy.

We stayed at April and Marvin's house in Eagle. It was nice not to have to pay for a hotel.

We looked at 15-20 houses and there was one that had everything I wanted- 4 bedrooms, bonus room, good kitchen space, and a neighborhood with a community pool. We put an offer in on it but got a call from our realtor that night telling us there was a registered sex offender who lived right next door. We decided we didn't want to deal with that situation and the people ultimately decided not to move after all so we were back to no house. We ended up leaving with out a house.

We still had a good trip despite the lack of house.  It was fun to be with family. My parents came up Thursday night and  we had dinner with them and went and sat in the hot tub at their hotel. The next day they came house hunting with us. We saw the new Meridian Temple being built.

We hardly ever go out to eat so I enjoyed eating out a few times.

We got snowed on Friday morning for a little extra excitement.

We had a good kid free adventure but now we are still looking for a place to live.

Potty Trained

Emma finally decided it was time to be potty trained. She wanted nothing to do with it until the end of March and then she said she wanted to wear underwear and hasn't gone back. She filled her sticker chart and picked Poppy from Trolls as her prize. Yay for no more diapers!

General Conference

I love General Conference weekend! It's so nice to stay home together and listen to the leaders of the church!

Jake learned well from Pres. Uchtdorf's talk.

April Fools

I drew mustaches on all the kids for an April Fools prank. I think they rubbed them off a bit during the night because they didn't notice them right away. I had to ask the girls what was on their faces before they noticed. Once they looked at each other they burst out laughing and told me I was a mean mom. It was hilarious. Hopefully this will be a yearly tradition.

This is our yearly tradition - our annual crazy cafe dinner. This was our menu for this year.

This year we invited the Holidays to join us so I simplified it to just one course and then brought out all the food after a few minutes. It wasn't quite the same but still fun.

Most of the kids ended up ordering dessert for dinner and then an ice cube for dessert.
