Trip Pictures

We both made it back safely from our trips. Here are some pictures of Japan. This is as close as I'll get to Japan. There isn't really a 2-3 month offer. Jake made that up- I was so worried about it too. Oh well . The only way we would go to Japan would be for a 3-5 year commitment and I am not willing to make that kind of commitment! I don't think Jake would mind though. This is a park that Jake went for a Sunday walk in. We aren't sure why the trees are wearing skirts.
Here is Nagoya, Japan. This was the view from Jake's hotel window.
A Japanese Temple. Jake really didn't get a lot of time to sight see. He would go to work around 5:30 in the morning and get back around 7:00 at night. He had a 1 hour train ride to and from work. The only day he got out was Sunday (he couldn't find a church) so that's when he got all his pictures.
Now a few pictures from my trip athough they might not be as exciting. Here is Kaylee and Grandpa sledding in the backyard. She liked it at first, until they crashed, then she was done.
Here we are in Rexburg by the tempel. It was so cold that day! When we got there at 11:30 it was -8 degrees! I think it warmed up to about 0 degrees by the time we left. Since it was so cold we didn't want to get out again in the front for more pictures. The temple is beautiful. It would have been so nice to have it there while we lived there, oh well.
Here we are with Pepper, the family dog. Kaylee loves animals and loved to pet him and always wanted to look at him out the window. Everytime she saw him she would wave and start panting like a dog. We had a good time with family but it is good to be home. We almost didn't make it though since there was a blizzard in Salt Lake the same time our flight was supposed to leave! After a 2 hour delay we finally made it. It was a LONG day at the airport and I was very glad to get home! Jake got home Saturday and Kaylee and I got home on Monday.

Update

Kaylee and I are still in Utah. We are enjoying our time with family, although Kaylee is not sleeping well at night (she needs her own bed). She loves all the extra attention she gets here. We are going to Rexburg tomorrow for the Temple open house. I'm excited for that. Today We are going sledding since it snowed last night. Kaylee's never done that before. Jake is still in Japan. He says work is really busy. He has to take a train to work everyday and since he doesn't know Japanese it has been a challenge. He also has to eat out everyday and says he just points at the menu and hopes for the best. He's seen octopus and sting ray in the market stores and tells me he is going to try it. They eat it raw! How disgusting! After hearing all this Jake tells me he wants to be assigned there for 2-3 months (of course Kaylee and I would go to Japan too). I don't know if I can handle that. We'll see.

Business Trip

So today Jake found out that Boeing wants him to go to Japan for 2 weeks and leave on Saturday! He is about the only one in his group with a passport. I am thinking about going back to Utah, even though we've just been home a week, I don't want to be alone for 2 weeks! I know I'm a whimp but since I don't have kids in school and only have to buy 1 plane ticket cause Kaylee is still free - why not? If Jake's on vacation I want to be too! Jake used to live in Japan (when he was really young) so it will be fun for him to go back.

This is one of Kaylee's favorite things. She always comes running when the dishwasher is open and loves to help unload.

Christmas with the Williams

This is what Christmas Should look like! So much prettier that Washington at Christmas. We spent Christmas in Logan, Utah with Jake's family. It was a beautiful white Christmas.Jake made me take lots of pictures as we were driving out of Cache Valley. He misses it! Christmas morning opening presents. Kaylee was really good at ripping of the paper and had a lot of fun with it. She some fun new toys including this airplane. Poor Jake was sick most of the time we were in Logan with the flu or something like it. He missed out on a lot of fun stuff. On Christmas eve we went to Hardware Ranch to see the elk. They come there to feed in the winter. It was snowing a lot while there and in the canyon on the way home. We lost the driver side wiper blade in the canyon so it was an adventure getting back home, but we made it safely.
Here is everyone (except for Jake since he was sick) making gingerbread houses. It is a Williams' family tradition. Here's the whole Williams family. It was fun to all be together again. It doesn't happen often with everyone all spread out. We also spent a few days after Christmas with my family in Clearfield, Utah. We celebrated New Years there -played some games and went to bed. Everyone was in bed before midnight since we had a flight the next morning. Yes, we know how to party! My parents were super nice while we were there and got up with Kaylee when she woke up during the night and got up early with her and let us sleep in! It was great! Thanks! We loved being with family again, but it is nice to be home.
