Happy Halloween!

This Halloween was a little crazy for us, due to the million and one things we have been busy with. We bought our pumpkins about 3 days before Halloween and had a speedy carving session.

Both girls didn't really help at all, but they both did have a little taste of pumpkin. I know our pumpkins are not as good as they have been in the past, but this year I just wanted to get them done, and it was a very long day that day.

Yesterday we headed to our ward activity and trunk or treat. Here is Lexi as a princess riding a unicorn. I let her pick her costume out over a month ago, and she loved it. It was actually not a fight to get her in a costume this year! Yeah for me!

And my little stinker Danielle was a skunk. (not a very good picture because she moves way too much)
Here is a back shot. And Lexi was asking everyone if they wanted to pet her unicorn.
Emery joined us as Strawberry Shortcake.
We had a little dinner and went to play some games. The girl's favorite one was the balloons, even Daddy was into it too.
Lexi first time ever playing twister. She doesn't know her left or right yet but it was fun to watch her try. I think having the extra four legs helped her too.

It was a pretty fun night and the girls got a good amount of candy to come home with. Lexi got a cupcake before we went to get the candy and she was showing a couple of the trunks her cupcake, which had all the frosting licked off. I finally got her to put it in her bucket. Then a few trunks later she got an apple and devoured that thing while going to the rest of the trunks.
We had a good time but I must admit that I am glad that October is almost over. I love Halloween and all, but I am really looking forward to Christmas this year!

Us girls at the pumpkin patch

Lexi and I were invited to go with Jennie and Emery to the pumpkin patch this year. I decided to have a friend watch Danielle so I can spend some one-on-one time with Lexi. (Best decision ever, by the way. I have no idea how I would've carried three pumpkins!)

Anyhow, we of course have to do the rides first, especially the carousal ride.

After a little of convincing we got both girls on the roller coaster. It was pretty big so I was fully expecting some crying from one or both of them, but they were both champs. The wanted to sit on the front car, but then this other girl wanted to also. So they squeezed her on and poor Lexi was stuck in the middle. This is their expressions in the middle of the ride. I did get Lexi to wave at me and she was all smiles the most of the ride!

Emery and Lexi excited to go and pick a pumpkin

We grabbed some pumpkins and jumped back on the hayride. We couldn't get the girls to get off to take a picture so this was the best I got. Not quit sure what the lip was for.

Lexi and I at the top of the haystack. It looks like it is snowing but it is just dust.

The pumpkin girls! Here is what we headed home with: 2 big orange pumpkins, 2 orange/green pumpkins, 1 white pumpkin, 10 mini pumpkins, 6 bags of kettle corn and 2 happy little girls.

In case you were wondering

So you know that thing I keep talking about that we are busy doing? Well to put all of your minds to ease....we are trying to sell our house.

We are trying to move into a bigger home close to a new church building a few blocks from our current house. We love our home, but not loving the some of the neighbors so much. We feel like this is a good time to try and get into the bigger home now while interest rates are so low. We have been waiting for a long time to do this because of a few things (which we are still waiting on some things), but we are tired or waiting. So with our faith in Heavenly Father we are on the market and are hoping for the best.

10-4 It's her Birthday!!!!!!

One year ago on this day I was snuggling this sweet 6lb 12oz little thing. One year later.....
And we have one little girl who is full of spunk! I can't imagine our lives without this smile everyday!
Her birthday celebration was not as big as I would have liked, but we have had a lot going on lately. It was still a great celebration. Danielle got to practice opening a gift from Grandma and Grandpa Horsley a few days early.
Of course the favorite part was the wrapping.
She loved the bag. She was using it for a purse for a day or so before it was totally destroyed.

Last night we enjoyed general conference at Grandma and Grandpa Trevino's house. We had some yummy dinner and here are some of the gifts she got. Typical Uncle Jamin gift. Very loud oinking pig. I guess it turns out it was actually a dog toy, but it was hilarious oinking that thing and getting mixed reactions from her. She kept looking at it and wondering what it was going to do. One time I squeezed it so hard and fast that I scared her so bad. I was laughing so hard I started to cry. (I know mean mom huh?) Let's just say she is still a little concerned about this pig. Danielle and Grandma. OK don't you love the shirt? Yes, I have to brag because I made it a week ago and I have been dying for her to wear it!
Just love this one!
Danielle LOVES baby dolls! She has been carrying Lexi's old ones around, so we picked out her very own.
And of course the baby needs a new stroller to ride in too!
She also got spoiled with some pj's, two phones, a musical seahorse, and a purse full of necklaces.

Cake time! So it probably wouldn't get me a job at Ace of Cakes, but I thought it turned out pretty cute. I decided a strawberry because this girl loves fruit. She could eat it all day long, thus why we go through A LOT of butt paste. (maybe I should buy some of their stock)
So Danielle has a cold and I don't know if she got a nap, because she was a little tired looking in these pictures.
But once she got a little taste it was all over from there.

I think she was one happy 1 yr old.
Here are some other fun facts about what she is up to nowadays:
  • Is a teaser. She knows just how to push Lexi's buttons. She will grab her favorite toy and start running away while laughing.
  • Knows how to get Lexi in trouble by crying for no reason.
  • Looks for approval in everything, good or bad
  • Is starting to follow some directions
  • Still loves to eat, and eat fast. I get her all ready, then by the time I fix myself something and sit down, she is all done.
  • says mama and dada
  • gets really jealous if Lexi is sitting on my lap and she isn't
  • Is a bully. I was watching my friend's little boys and she would push them off her chair, then sit proudly on the chair and laugh at me. Naughty little girl! Sad thing is these boys are almost double her size. She also pushes Lexi and the rest of us out of the way
  • Is a big Mommas girl
  • Have the best laugh. You can't help laughing with her.
  • Likes to get into anything I am doing
  • Is obsessed with closing doors.
  • Loves to take baths
  • Is really pretty good in the car and stores, but is expert of wiggling out of those strap in the cart.

It is so fun to she her personality develop. She is so fun and entertaining to be around. We love Danielle so much and are blessed to have her in our family too!
