My Baby is 2!

I still can't believe that it has been two years since this little bundle of joy came into our family!
Today was a fun filled day of celebration! We had a little BBQ with family and two of Lexi's best friends and their parents. It was so fun to see the four little girls play together.

This is cousin Emery, Ella, Kate(which I don't think I got one of her looking at the camera) and Lexi. It is so nice to see 2 year-olds play so well together!

The girls enjoyed Lexi's present from Mom and Dad of this swing set. It has been a great purchase I must say! Uncle Jamin was great to give the girls all some pushing time!

Her friend Kate got her a doll stroller, which of course, is a favorite among all little girls! Grandma and Grandpa got her some fun play food and Emery and Uncle Jamin picked out some Polly Pocket stuff. Lexi loves cars, but I don't have any for her, so she absolutely loved playing with this fun set!
My good friend Betsy made this adorable tutu for Lexi! She is so talented!

Isn't she pretty? Lexi is very serious about her gifts! I couldn't coax a smile, later I guess.

This was her cake for this year. The "theme" I guess was Mickey and Minnie Mouse but I couldn't find a cake pan of Minnie that I wanted to pay the price for, so she got this one instead.
She did great this time actually trying to blow out the candle! At her last birthday party I don't think she knew how to blow at all, so it was great to see her learn something new.
In the party favor bag I put some candy necklaces, and this was the aftermath of her enjoyment of that! That stuff was caked on her hands and face!

This was a fabulous birthday party. The weather was awesome, the company was great and the food was yummy!

Thanks to all who helped make Lexi's day so special!

Trevino Trio No More

So most of you already know and some figured it out by the ticker I put on my blog, but our family is expecting another member in October. We very excited and are happy that things are going better then last time. Yes, I am still sick but it is a lot more manageable than Lexi was. My goal is to stay out of the hospital until I have this baby! I think that is a good one!

Here is me at 15 weeks. I swear I was this big at about 20 with Lexi.

We are really hoping for a boy but a girl would be awesome too! So what do you think I am having? Place your vote on my blog. I should find out on May 12th!

It never seems to amaze how much you truly do forget about being pregnant. For example the itchy stomach because your skin is stretching, but I can truly say that I did not forget how sick I felt last time.

I wanted to share some of my differences between this baby and Lexi:

  • This pregnancy believe it or not I would say that I have thrown up way more but luckily at some point in the day, I am able to keep stuff down where with Lexi once I start I can't stop.
  • This baby doesn't move a lot yet. I have only felt him/her a few times. Lexi had the hiccups all the time so I felt her pretty early.
  • I am a lot bigger sooner, but that is to be expected with #2.
  • I actually am on a normal schedule for seeing the Dr. With Lexi I probably went every week or every other week until I was 18 weeks along.
  • By this many weeks last time I had already went to the hospital 4 times to get rehydrated but zero this time. (I went once more at 20 weeks but I don't see that happening this time)

I must stay that I do not enjoy being pregnant, but I am so willing to go through it all for this little one.

Easter Weekend

Our family had a pretty good Easter week. Johnny is still crazy busy with soccer but we were able to dye some Easter eggs together. Lexi wanted to dye them all yellow, but that is probably because that is the color she knows how to say the best.

On Saturday our ward had an Easter activity. Johnny had a game so I took Lexi to eat some really yummy food. Then they had the kids split up and have a little Easter lesson and make their egg hunting bags. It was such a cute idea and so simple. Then they sent us out for the eggs. Since this was Lexi first real Easter egg hunt, we practiced a little at home. What can I say...I didn't want her to only pick up one and be done. Well I think the practice paid off because I think she came home with about 15 eggs. I was really impressed. Of course I was starting to feel bad because one of our friends was trying to show his daughter where some eggs where and Lexi would always beat her to them. That little stinker! Sorry Kate!
Lexi woke up bright and early on Easter morning, about an hour before normal so needless to say I was not too excited about that, but I was excited to see her face when she saw her basket and the eggs outside. She noticed her basket right away but the funny thing is that she kept pulling out the fake grass instead of the good stuff. Her favorite thing was the PEZ. The Easter bunny filled them up for her, so she gulped down the whole thing before she checked out anything else.
My favorite thing was when she looked outside and her mouth dropped because she saw all the eggs out there. She ran right to the door and was ready to get those eggs.

I am impressed that she could carry 2 in one hand. Her hands are just so small!

This was the best picture I got of her in her Easter dress. We didn't have time before church so we did it after church and lunch. She was a good sport for a minute but then when I was trying to get a picture of her with me in our dresses....

This was the result! So nap time it was! I must say that the drool just gives it a little something extra.

Random Thoughts

So it has been awhile since I wrote about some fun things that Lexi is into right now. I can't believe that at the end of this month my baby will be 2! Yes she already acts like a 2 year old and I think I am in for one with her, but she is so fun that it makes it all worth it!

Lexi loves hats...that is to play with hats but I can't get her to wear one when it is cold outside. She loves putting Daddy's hats on and when he is home she make sure he wears them.

We had a few friends over a few months ago and played some rock band. This was Lexi getting a little practice before the party. She loves music. I am the type of person that needs some type of background noise whether it is the TV or music. When we are in the car, at a store, or eating lunch she will bop her head to the music! The best is when Johnny's phone rings. She will instantly smile, do the head bopping and laugh at herself because she knows we love it.

My little organizer. She likes things in certain spots! The other day I saw her lining her Care Bears up, head to toe, and then followed by counting them.

Care Bears..oh the Care Bears. At night and nap she needs some in her crib. I used to allow only one or two but somehow she now gets away with as many as in her room at the time. She will not stop crying until you let her have them, and by that point in the day just let her have it! If one gets thrown over the side, trouble! When she wakes up, they all have to come out, which she hands to me one by one, before she will consider getting out too. Now it is getting to the point where she wants all the pillows and blankets out too.

She loves getting attention from anyone that will give it. She does little things and then looks at you and gives you that "aren't I so cute?" laugh and smile. Sometimes it is hard not to smile especially even when she does something naughty.

Right now she is on this "nice" thing. If I need to change her diaper or Johnny is playing with her, and she doesn't like it, instead of saying "no," she gets really serious and says "nice." It is ironic because she is saying nice but she is talking mean.

Instead of "excuse me" it is "sorry." I still don't think I have gotten her to say sorry when she did something wrong.

When were in Reno, at church, out of the blue Lexi comes up to me and says "I'm gonna get you." Then she proceeds to tickle me! The second sentence of her life is that, and I think that it really says something about her personality. Watch out all you boys out there because some day she is going to get you!

Last but not least, this girl is possessive of her things. I realize that sharing toys with others at this age is a challenge, which is to be expected, but that is not what I am talking about here. On our last trip at the airport, I checked her car seat in with my bag. She threw the biggest fit each time because the lady was touching it and she was afraid she wouldn't get it back. Then after that is all settled and done, then it starts all over again at the security about something. It used to be the stroller, this time I think it was her shoes and her Care Bear. The people behind me probably were just hoping that we weren't on their flight. I frankly would be thinking the same thing if I were them.

I just love this girl so much and I am so privileged that I was sent such a kind hearted and for the most part, easy going kid.
Lexi you are very loved by your parents and thanks for making each day an exciting one!
