Health & Safety Week

3.23-27.2015

I somehow got conned into putting together Health & Safety week at the elementary school.  I have a new found appreciation for the PTA.  There is so much involved in all the extracurricular stuff at the school.  I also realized what an awesome principal the school has!  He was so helpful!

So everyday the kids wore something different to school.

Mon- Crazy sock day.  I had cut 850 green ribbons for the kids to tie to the fence along the playground area.  Green is the color of Health & Safety.  I made a banner to remind them about Health & Safety.  It hung by the ribbons.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of the ribbons tied to the fence.  It looked pretty cool.

Tues- PJ day.  We had an assembly where the Springville Police department came and talked to the kids about being safe.  Then we had the K-9 department do a demonstration with a dog and how they find drugs and attack "bad guys"!  The kids loved it.  Who am I kidding? So did I! Those dogs are so amazingly smart.

Wed- wear green.  And "Walk to School" Day.  I was able to get Cosmo to come.  He showed up with his van and had music playing as the kids walked to school.  The kids were all out playing soccer, dancing and getting pictures with Cosmo.  Cosmo even challenged Mr. Duncan (the principal) to a "dance off".  Mr. Duncan is such a good sport.  It was awesome.
We gave pencils to all the kids who walked!  Sage helped me.

Thurs- Wear a hat to school day.  The kids watched a video on healthy habits!

Fri- Wear red.  Croc Walk Day.  I didn't help with that!  We were off to Moab.

I was glad the week was over, but actually enjoyed planning the events and watching it come together!

Shooting and Date Night.

3.21.2015

Cam and some friends planned a shooting day with a bunch of people.  They even invited wives and kids.  (This doesn't happen all the time) :)

We went out to West Mountain.  They set up a ton of targets.  I tried to get a good picture, but you can't see anything.

Sage trying to decide what she was going to shoot at first.

She was letting her friend, Bryson shoot her pink gun.  It was cute to watch her show him how to load it and shoot it.  Cam is doing a good job making sure these girls aren't too "girly"!  Haha.

So, the guys also planned lunch while we were there.  Hotdogs and chips.  It was good, minus no utensils or plates.  Oh, and only 6 buns for a bunch of people.  For the guys being in charge, they did an o.k. job!

We did fine with what we had.  Hand sanitizer and card board box pieces!

It was a fun day.  We all got some sun and lots of laughs.  Oh and a $275 dollar ticket for shooting something that "blew up"!  You can buy these things legally in the store, but they are illegal to shoot! Who knew?? :)

After shooting, we had to quickly get home and clean up.  We were meeting Cam's boss and his wife up in Salt Lake for dinner.  Courtnee insisted we take her convertible, because it was such a gorgeous night.  We didn't argue.  We met them up at Flemmings.   The steaks were amazing.  It was a good day and a good night.

Welcome Spring.

3.19-20.2015

Our weather has been amazing lately.
We need moisture, but we won't complain about our high 60 degree temperatures in the middle of March.

Reese and I spent an afternoon with Rachel and Trevor.  We drank cokes and ate cookies while the kids played.  It was nice to hang out and just talk.

Golf season is here!  The girls from work got together and played 9 holes.  We met in the morning and it was a little chilly.  My game was a little (or a lot) rusty.  Here's to hoping it improves throughout summer!

Cam had the day off Friday so we went to hit some balls with the girls.  We let Reese do her own thing while Cam worked with Sage.  Sage is doing pretty good.  She doesn't hit far, but is pretty consistent.  I look forward to someday when we all go out and play a round together.

I loved looking over and watching Cam help Sage.  I am so impatient.  He's the opposite.

St. Patrick's Day

3.17.2015

Happy St.  Patrick's Day.
We all wore green and no one got pinched.
We had green clover pancakes and green milk for dinner.  I had green pancakes every St. Patrick's Day growing up.  I figure our girls will too.

When Cam's away.

3.9.2015

Cam had his monthly Vegas trip.
We find ourselves pretty bored when he is gone.  He must be our daily entertainment! :)

The girls wanted to make goo something or other.  Some recipe Sage brought home from school.

Cam got lucky.  While he was gone, Cinderella came out.  We went without him, and he didn't feel too bad about it.  Such a great movie with great meaning.  Have courage and be kind.  Reese actually feel asleep at the end of the show, but Sage thought it was great!

Sage had to help out at the Girl Scout Cookie Selling booths.  We were there for 3 hours.  It was warm and long, but we sold a lot of cookies.

The week went fast and we were glad when Cam got home!

Just us.

Cam has decided to start getting in shape.  He made a small "gym" in the garage.  I have to admit how much I love it.  I normally work out in the bedroom or living room.  It's kind of nice to have the garage to go in to!  I can blast the music and have a lot more room.  And,  I like that we can work out together.  The other night Reese came out.  She was cold and went and grabbed a jacket.  I loved watching her work out with Cam.  She did whatever he did.  It was cute.
Her asthma kicked in after just a couple of minutes, which sucked.  She had to grab her inhaler and sit down.  I hated it!! She is our outgoing, active girl, and has to take it easy.  It's really not fair!!

Cam had the girls convinced that his birthday should last all weekend long....
So we had banana splits for dessert before he left for Vegas.  We also had him blow out candles.... again :)

Life is good.  I love this family of mine.  Life would be so so boring without them.

And as a side note... I hate when Cam leaves for Vegas.  We miss him.  And the girls think that they can sleep in my bed every night.  I let them, and I never get a good night sleep :)

Snow to Sun

We FINALLY got some snow!! I was actually excited to see the snow.  It was only our second snow storm of the season.  It melted quickly, but we knew the mountains were getting great snow, so I was fine with that!!

We went skiing Saturday (3.7.1015) up to the Canyons.  Ruthie watched the girls, so we could "hard core" ski.  I realized skiing with Sage has been awesome this season, and she has gotten so good, but I realized how out of shape I was.  Our first run was a black diamond.  It killed me.  I was seriously huffing and puffing when I got to the bottom of that hill.  But, it was so nice to ski fast and hard!!  I loved it!!

On our way up the chair lift, we saw 2 moose.  They were beautiful and were just hanging out on the ski hill.  Pretty cool.

We met Colton and Kaylee up there too.  I love skiing with Kaylee.  She only started a year ago and has gotten so good, so fast.

We took Dodge (Cam's boss' son) with us.  He is fun.  He is young and good, so we can convince him to go off any jump and laugh at him when he wrecks!!  If it was us, we would be done for the day!!

I love my dirtycamo.

My face was fried!! We went out to dinner with friends that night and I looked hideous.  I had all sorts of crazy tan lines on my face!  It was well worth it.

So we skiied Saturday, and then Sunday it was beautiful!!  This weather is nuts!
After church, we went for bike rides on the trail.  I am so ready for summer.

I love these two little girls!!

Happy Birthday Camo

Happy Birthday DirtyCamo!!!

You are amazing.  We love everything about you! Everything!
You are the best dad and husband ever!!

Thank you for making us laugh on a daily basis.  Thank you for all the "snuggles".  Thank you for working so hard for us.  Thank you for keeping it real.  Thank you for being so patient with your girls.  Thank you for being so hot.  Thank you for everything.

I'm so glad Cam had a birthday so we could go eat at Sapa.  I'm glad Cam is finding a love for sushi, because it is my favorite.  We went up with some friends and met some more friends at the restaurant. We ate and laughed.  We went back to Blair's and Rebecca's for cake and icecream.  Blair made an amazing cake.  It was a gerat night.  I am very lucky to be married to this stud!!

The Weekend.

2.27.2015

Our weekend was pretty low key.
We did some grocery shopping.  Reese brought in the little waters and I brought in the big waters.  She thought she was going to die.  She's pretty cute.

Sage brought this note home for Cam from school.  She found this 1/2 walnut shell with 1/2 walnut in it.  She loved that it looked like a heart.  She kept it to give it to her dad along with a note.  I loved the walnut heart.  So sweet.

Saturday we went to a funeral.  Our friend, Rachel's mom passed away unexpectedly.  It was really sad.  We didn't know her mom that great, but went to the funeral to be there for Rach and Austin.  Rachel did the life sketch and did such a great job.  She is such a strong person.  My heart has broken for her as she has gone through this trial.  As I talked to her, she just confirmed to me how true the gospel is and how thankful she is that "families are forever."  I'm so thankful to have her as a friend.
Attending funerals are  not my favorite, but they always put life into perspective.  They remind you of the important things.  The things that matter.

We had a pretty mellow night.  I made party mix for the first time.  We grew up on this stuff.  We had it every weekend.  Whenever we go home to visit, it's a must and Su will always make it.  The girls requested it for movie night.  I can't believe it has taken me so long to ever make it.
Movie night.  The air mattress was blown up and the girls had a sleepover.  The little things that make them happy!

Happy Birthday to Me.

2.24.2015

One year older and wiser too.... Happy Birthday to me!!

I had a great birthday.  It was pretty laid back.. I liked it!

I worked out in the morning.  Went and helped in Reese's preschool class that morning.
Met up with friends for lunch at Zupa's (Meg, Steph, Corrine and Heather).  I wish I would have gotten a picture.
Picked up Sage from School.  Homework.  And dance.

While I was with Reese at dance, Sage and Cam decorated the house, made a cake, wrapped presents and ordered pizza.  It was so fun.  They did an amazing job.
We had a birthday celebration.  I personally loved the cake.  It looked good and tasted good.

I ended the night with going to yoga.  It was an overall great day!
