24th of July.

I love Utah for celebrating Pioneer Day! I'll be honest... I don't think too many people think of the pioneers on that day, but because of them we get the day off, we get to BBQ, we get to spend the day with family friends, we get to go to parades, and we get to watch more fireworks. I love holidays! So, thanks to the pioneers to give us another reason to celebrate!

We started the day off with the 10K Speedy Spainard. I think this is my 4th year running it. It's for sure one of my favorites. We had quite the group this year.
Brooke, Jodi, Nikki, me, Nat and Megan.
It was a great run.

After the run, I went to grab the girls to go back to the parade. Lauren and Morgan were in it for dance and Andrew was in it for baseball! Fun to see them!

After the parade, we went home to pack up for the lake house! The lake house is Cam's boss' house. It's a man made lake out by Tooele. There are about 4 houses out there. It's a private, gated lake, so it's very secluded.
Cam had to get a couple things done out there, so Ryan (Cam's boss) told him to take his family out with him. He's a pretty sweet guy!

This place is amazing. The house is beyond beautiful. I wish is gotten some pictures of the front too!

This is the kitchen dining room.

The girls would go out and play in the sand and water. It is so blue!!

We hit the lake. Ahhhh! I love hanging out on a boat.
We also had Ryan's new boat. He needed Cam to put some hours on it.
That was another reason we had to go out there! I'm not complaining that sometimes for work we have to drive a boat around!!
There were only 2 hours on the boat when we got there. This boat is sooo nice. Everything is touch screen and I have never seen such a large wake!!

We were out there all day. The sunset was beautiful!

Cam doing a little evening surfing!

After we got in and cleaned up they were doing some fireworks. Pretty to watch them out over the lake!

Friday we went back out to the lake.
The girls would come out and then go in to the house and watch a movie. We could see them come out on the porch and wave to us when they were ready to come back on the boat!

A little surfing!

We went in for lunch and to play outside.
We played in the sand, jumped on the tramp, went paddle boarding (which I love and didn't get any pictures), and  jumped off the boat dock roof. I couldn't talk Sage into jumping!! Maybe next time :)

Back to the lake. The girls loved sitting on the back on these little chairs!

Cam and the girls swam in the water.

Sage and Cam just chilling.

We were trying to get pictures with the sun setting. We were out there until dark, then had to come in and pack up! :(

You can turn on these giant lights to keep boating. There were some people out when we came in. Anything goes when it's your lake I guess!!
Loved this place. It was beautiful!

We wore the girls right out!! Yep- they slept like that the whole way home. We didn't have their car seats in the truck, and they didn't put their seatbelts on.
Bad parenting... Maybe?! But they looked really comfy!

It was a fun weekend!
Coming home is always the worst...
So much cleaning and laundry! Oh we'll, it's worth it.

Random Summer pictures

Some random photos..

We were building with Legos. Reese asked me to help build a roof? After having it break 2-3 times, Reese says, "it's ok mom, your not the Lego-master. I'll just wait for Dad to get home!"

Dad- 1  Mom- 0

Playing in the blowup pool in the backyard.
We had left the water in it for a week or so and it turned sooo gross! It was growing it's own algae/seaweed crap. It was slimy and disgusting! Took forever to clean out! I've learned my lesson: don't let water sit in there very long!!

Took this on an evening run the other night. Idaho has my heart, but Utah is beautiful.

7.23.2014
Nat, Brooke and I took the kids to the Spanish Fork pool. It was nice. Not crowded at all!
Reese was going to go down the slide with Lauren, but somehow ended up going down alone, upside down! So funny to watch, but scared her to death. At least she would keep going on the slide, but only with me!

Snack time.
We had an extra long break due to some poor water quality issues! Aka... Some kid pooped in the pool!

It was fun! The kids are all at fun ages!

Vegas Vacation!

Vegas bound!
Cam was in Vegas for the week, so some  of the wives packed up and went to meet the husbands.

Their company let us use this huge old polygamist van!! We had 2 wives, 2 moms and 6 kids packed up in it!
It was a beast to drive, but I got us down there safe and sound!

We had a suite while we were there. It was so nice to have a room for the girls, a little kitchen area, a giant tub for the girls and a room for Cam and I!

We got down to Vegas pretty late that night, so called it a night and went to bed!

Friday we hit the pool! We had a cabana waiting for us full of ice, drinks and snacks. It was sooo hot and we were very glad to have it for shade and keeping our drinks cool!
We were pretty spoiled this weekend!

The gangs all here!
Riley.. (Connor's wife), Mandy (Dillon's wife), Reese, Sage, Natalie, Andrew, Olivia, and Sarah (Johnny's wife). We were missing little Tim in this picture.

Our cheese pizza delivered to us for lunch by Camo!

Me and my girls.
Loved playing with them all weekend.

Proof that Cam does work. He didn't get to play with us during the day, but he did come out and visit a lot! :)
He kept us stocked up on snacks and drinks.

We applied so much sunscreen.  Reese always wanted to apply her own. She was well covered.

This was the main pool. If you had a cabana you had access to a different pool. There were maybe 6 people in it all day. We basically had it to ourselves. So nice to not have all the adults giving our kids dirty looks for splashing them!!

After swimming we were walking back to our room and the girls wanted their picture taken on the shoe shiner chairs!

We went over to the Excalibur for dinner and a show! We watched the Knights Table! It was fun. (They were strict about pictures, so I couldn't get very many)!
They bring your food out.. It's all medieval type. You don't have any silverware. Sage was not impressed with how dirty your hands got, and Reese pretty much hated the whole show!!

Here's the food... A Cornish game hen, red potatoes, broccoli and a roll. It was soo delicious.

I had seen this show when I was younger. It was pretty close to the same. Fun to watch again!
Sage really liked the show. They had horse fights, dancing horses,  maidens dancing, dragons, and fireworks.
Reese hated it!! She didn't touch her food and fell asleep half way through the show. She was out the rest of the time!!

Saturday we hit the pool again. There was a little overcast which made it nice. Still hot!

The girls swam all day long!! They were in heaven.

Some new buddies! These girls were all around the same age. They had a blast.

Swimming obviously knocked these two out. They both fell asleep while watching cartoons as I got ready for the night.
Vegas life is rough!

The Summitt was over, and I wanted to go down and help start cleaning up. The quicker we finished the quicker we could go out and play.
I left this note for the girls. Thank goodness for technology.
I kept coming up to the room to check on them too. They slept for hours!!

Finally. Dinner.
We went over to Ceasar's palace.
We got on the waiting list for Cheesecake Factory. It was a little wait.. We only had 14 people!!
So we did some shopping while we waited!

Dinner was good, as always.
The kids were well behaved!

Reese thought it was so funny that her corndog came out of the bread part!

Side story...
So we drove the huge van to Ceasars Palace. There was no way we could fit in underground parking, so we pulled up front and left it in vallet. There was no one around. So the guys convinced each other that it was fine to leave it. The wives tried to tell them otherwise! We were convinced we would get a ticket or get towed!

Well.. When we came back from dinner, no van! It was towed.
It was late, like 11:00 pm, we were all tired and ready to get kids to bed.
We made some phone calls and realized we were not getting the can back that night, so we all got a cab and went home.
I was super annoyed until the girls were so excited to ride in a cab for the first time!
They made the situation a little better.
Until I remembered how much it was going to cost to get the can out! :(
We did get the van out the next morning and all is ok! No hard feelings!

On the way home, the trailer blew a tire so we had to stop and replace it! Thank goodness for handy husbands!!

It's good to be going home!
It was a great trip. Tons of fun. But, Vegas drains you!! :)
I'm glad we were able to have such fun friends to play with, and a good company to take care of us!

Now to get home and catch up on laundry!
