yummy yummy in my tummy

she loves touching his hair.
well any one's hair.
for now she is very gentle and just kind of sweeps it.
sometimes she grabs it but not hard.
she was so happy.
i think she knew what was about to happen.
she watched my every move.
um, what was that?
i think she was surprised by the texture...
but didn't mind the taste.
she was so happy to finally eat.
she actually ate and swallowed like 5 bites.
the rest were spit out.
she so wanted to be in control.
she is her mother's child.
control-freak!

such a happy girl.

she thought she was being funny by biting the spoon.
this is her excited face, before the smile.
she acts like a turtle and pulls her head into her neck.
inspecting the spoon.
overall it went great!
she was for sure interested...
interested in the spoon that is.

oh and by the way...
she is doing much better today.
back to her sassy self!

the backwards scoot

should count for something.
she moves at a snail's pace but i am happy with that.
she started out leaning over her boppy.
by the time i checked on her she looked like this.
she's really trying to get her knees under her.
but from above it still looks like frog legs.
something interesting was on t.v. i guess.
she's almost on her knees.
phew, that was a lot of work...
she needed a break.every time she moved a little i would clap and say yay!!
she was so proud of herself.
doing push ups one handed...kidding...
some serious knee action.
once she got past the pillow she was fussing for me to help her.
but it's progress.
an attempt in getting a pic together.
seriously, her hair line...always goes into a V
oh and i finally got my eyebrows waxed...
true story...when we first moved i wanted to get a trunk for the blankets.
(which i got by the way)
eddie didn't think we needed one, and that i just wanted it.
he told me, i could save my money and get my eyebrows waxed!
you should have seen his face...
like he was trying to be nice...but was trying to tell me i needed them waxed.
i love that he is so honest...cause they were a hot mess.
what he didn't know was, i was trying to grow them in.

6 month stats

17 pounds 9 ounces
25 and 1/2 inches

ugh...i hated her new pediatric office.
and it was actually a recommendation.
this was before we left .
refusing to smile.
the office wasn't dirty but it was not new and nice.
frankly, not my standards.
pretty sure we will be switching.

we were seen by a student nurse practitioner...
who didn't have a clue.
she was even looking in her book on what to check for.
and would ask me things but not listen to my answer
and asked me to repeat everything.
made me feel uneasy...
and then the dr. came in and didn't check anything
but the student lady was in the room
so i couldn't really say anything without making things awkward....
so i didn't say anything cause i know emi is healthy.
least she loved the crinkly paper.
i had to replace it 3 times cause she'd rip it or chew a hole.
she even stiff arm'd the nurse lady...
i tried not to laugh but i couldn't help it.
by the time she got her shots, she was done!

now we are home and she isn't being herself.
she was pretty out of it...sleepy i'm sure.
so we came home, she took a bath and got back in pj's and took a nap.
when she woke up, she was crying like we have never heard before.
so i put her back to sleep and she's been sleeping since.
guess we'll wait until tomorrow for solids, since eddie is at school tonight.
what's one more day...
maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

6 months

i can't believe 6 months has gone by already.
oh, how i loved my eskimo baby at first sight.
she has changed so much, in looks and personality.
emi sits up great and has been for close to 2 months.
she likes to pant like a dog
studies her room when i get her in the morning.
sticks her tongue out a lot.
loves when eddie and i come into the room.
she gets so excited and follows our every move.
loves to blow bubbles
will dive forward off your lap if she sees something she wants.
she cranes her neck to get a better view of something.
for example. if she wants to see your phone...
she leans way over or to the side to see it.
loves anything flashy or crinkly.
talks a lot!
says mum, mum, mum, mum, mum
or eye na, eye na, eye na
the sound of a H...sounds like forced laugh.
when we try to sit her down she refuses and won't bend.
this is seriously going to be a picture overload.
if emi melts your heart you will enjoy this...

what a lot of people don't know is,that before emi was born i promised myself i would send the new grandparents a picture everyday since we live far away.
most days i e-mail more than one.
within 6 months time...i have over 1100 picture on my phone alone.
some the quality may not be so good.

my eskimo baby
literally days old
only a few weeks old and smiling with that tongue.
she is such a good sleeper.
will sleep anywhere.
so blurry but so cute!
like a month old, i love her rollie pollie arms.
first time in jeans.
to pick gma d up from the airport.
loved the ceiling fan.

loving bath time.loving daddy time.
doing tummy time...
only cause she has something interesting to watch.
swimming at like 2 months old.
please excuse the twins.
sitting up in the crease of the couch for the first time.
always a happy girl.
loving on the fingers.
a month later her teeth came in at 5 months.
loving bath time...and still does.
meeting daddy for lunch.
few times with a headband...
always pulling them over the eyes.
her...say what? look.
bad hair day but still cute.
can you see her whispies...
serious.
they kind of sort of look alike.
sushi lover?
she does this all the time.
ikea...in a high chair.
so excited to see what we were doing.
that silly tongue.
this is what happens when she is really tired.
and decided to skip all naps.
the fake smile.
i wish people could see it in person.
always happy to be with her mommy.
a lot of people say she only has eyes for her mommy.
which is so true.
she never lets me out of her sight.
and even when eddie has her, she turns to look at me.
i feel extremely blessed to be able to watch her grow.
