Boxing Day Picture Fun

Boxing Day is always a fun filled family day at my parents. Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents and Cousins come to visit and eat lots of yummy food!!! It was another fun time.....so much fun that I forgot to take pictures.....sorry....but I did take some on our "walk"......Jeff had the camera alot of the time otherwise I would have taken way more but he wanted to test out my new lens. Keah and Jeremy were with us but all the pictures of them were on the other cameras.Cooper stayed home with Nanny because it was nap time and a little chilly!! It was a fun time.....one that we need to do again.....especially as the family grows.....

A fun filled family christmas......

Christmas 2009 has come and gone.......leaving faster then the time it took to get here. I love watching the kids on Christmas with their big saucer eyes. I "love" hearing 1/2 dozen times throughout the night....."is it time to get up yet?"......I love when you send them down to check things out, the EXCITEMENT you can hear from the note that Santa left.....and it's better when they run up to show it to you. I will miss this when my kids get older.....I'm wishing it would last forever.

We started Christmas Eve off with our other family......the Frasers.....and had an awesome potluck.....I will post the pictures of the kids with baby Hayden in another post.....they couldn't believe how tiny he was. I think Georgia thought he was a doll.....she wanted to squeeze him all night. From there we went to the live nativity pageant at the church. It was a little chilly but always fun to watch. It was here we also found out the news that we are getting a NEW brother in law......congrats to Laura and Jeremy!!! I knew it was going to happen and glad that she said yes.....didn't really think she would say no. After we stopped at Jeff's parents for some yummy snacks and the kids got to play with some of their cousins for a little bit before heading home to bed. It was a long night of last minute prep stuff for the next day but we got to bed earlier then expected.

We had many "visitors" throughout the night but managed to stay in bed until 5:51am. The next couple of hours were filled with many smiles and lots of excitement. Santa was really good to the kids this year......the oldest 3 all got Nintendo DS and Georgia got a Leapster. She calls it a DS.......it's too cute!!! It had some issues though and had to be exchanged so it was a long couple of days of her not being able to play Dora. Cooper seemed to enjoy his first Christmas. He hung out on Nanny Nelson's lap most of the time.......loving the spoon he got in his stocking. He would have been thrilled with just those. He did get some fun things and really enjoyed the Sophie Giraffe that he got from Nanny Jackie and Pop later in the day. We were really glad that Jeff's parents could come for breakfast and watch the kids open their gifts. The kids love that they are here. Jeff treated me with a new lens (55-250mm IS) for my camera (plus some other goodies).....really it was the only thing I told him I wanted, hoping he would get it......but I'm super excited to have it. I'm sure he'll use it lots too.We tested it out on boxing day and I LOVE IT!!! I managed to surprise him with a new tent.....he's had one on his wishlist that is just a small tent he wants to use for kayaking trips. I had to wrap it in a blanket and bring it up last as I didn't have a box big enough to wrap it in. I'm really surprised he didn't see it but it must have just blended in well with our other camping gear. Guess I'm getting good at hiding things.....almost too good as I was on the hunt pre christmas for some lost items!!!

Later in the day all of my family came for dinner and more gift opening. We had a 30 lb turkey this year and the new oven cooked it to perfection. We had lots leftover but tonight managed to finish it off in some pot pies. Jeff out does himself on the holiday meals and this was another fantastic one......along with the yummy trifle I made ;) I am thankful for this holiday season, for the real meaning of Christmas, for the time we get to spend with family and friends, for lots and lots of good food and the kids......they really make Christmas awesome!!! Mike and Keah got some cute twin stuff from Karen......it really makes us more excited for next year......the babies will add some excitement to the house. I know my kids will love having them over......maybe we'll even sneak them some trifle......enjoy the pictures to follow......I'll post some of the Boxing Day photos on another post.....it was another fun day of family time!!! Hope that Christmas was special in some way for everyone......it was indeed another special one here!!!

What a week......

Life is busy......life remains busy.....life is good....the days are getting closer to Christmas.....the kids are getting excited.....I'm getting excited for the kids. Today we cleaned bedrooms.....got some junk out to make room for their new surprises. I'll have to tackle mine maybe tomorrow. We been passing the rest of the time by visiting the dentist......yuck!!! The big girls went last week.....cavity free...minor little things to keep our eyes on so the kids grow up with nice smiles:) Jake, Georgia and I went the other day.....those two let me take their picture. Both did a fantastic job, especially since it was Georgia's first time. I cringed .....cringed .....cringed ....cringed ..... I can't stand getting my teeth cleaned. The noises do me in. To make matters worse I had to go back the next day to get a filling replaced.....ouch.....atleast I can eat all the yummy Christmas things now. Thank you to my dentist for draining me dry at this festive time of year. How I miss the awesome Home Depot benefits we once had. Blue Cross SUCKS......simple as that. Oh well, I guess a little is better then nothing. I'm looking forward to a potluck at the Frasers tomorrow.....they are like family to us....the nativity pageant and hanging out at the in-laws. Christmas all my family will be here and I look forward to the fun times!!! Hope that the holidays are good to everyone and the New Year is a great one!!! We are especially looking forward to our 10th anniversary....Cooper turning 1....our getaway in May to celebrate our anniversary.....the TWINS arriving.....and Sarah's baptism. 2010 is going to be another full year......full of things to be grateful full!!! Merry Christmas to all.......just incase I don't make it back here tomorrow........

Not too bad.....

I saw this cute guy over on the "How about orange" blog awhile ago and I just had to try making him. It was a long process.....I finally found buttons, made some eyes and blew the dust off the sewing machine. I think it turned out pretty good the first time around. I would like to use a softer felt some other time but this worked for now. I didn't stuff his arms as it was tough to stuff but he'll still look good on the tree. Jeff has been making fun of him ever since he caught wind of my craft......he thinks it's all a waste of time!! It was a huge success with the kids, they loved him. I just have to stick a tie on his head so he will hang.....I forget to sew it in when I was stitching him up. I'm off to hunt the net for some more cute ornaments.....I think they would be fun to make with the kiddies.

Not to bad for my first attempt.....

A moment to breathe.....

I've finally gotten all the pictures on the computer that I need......life has been busy.....somedays too busy, somedays not busy enough. Is is ever dull??? Nope.....never. Do I accomplish everything I would like to in a normal day?? Nope.....never. Would I trade it??? Somedays when it's hard to breathe....

So here's a recap of what we have been up to.....then I'll throw in a bunch of pictures and I will feel a little caught up. I'm thinking I have to designate blog time so I don't fall behind......
The end of October brought the big girls first piano recital. They both did an excellent job!! Halloween came and went......the oldest 3 all were the same things as last year, Georgia was a lion and Cooper a monkey. They decided that they wanted to go to Nanny Jackie's trick or treating and they had a blast and got more then enough candy. Jeff and I have had no problems helping it disappear. I think I will be happy to see when it's all gone:)
The start of November both Jessica and Sarah became brownies. They had a little ceremony that Jeff and I got to attend. They are really enjoying those activities and are looking forward to camp at the end of this month. We had our first snowfall......the kids were quite excited and we got a Christmas Toy Shop to build out of LEGO. All 5 kids have gotten their H1N1 shots......so far we have been lucky in missing it so I'm hoping it skips us this year:) Georgia has been busy being herself......washing her body in the kitchen.......baking and eating cookies......styling Cooper's hair with Daddy's hair products and just making us laugh with awesome conversation. She speaks well beyond her years and it's just a blast!!! Cooper is 8 months now.....he has 4 teeth....loves to eat everything and moving tons. He has discovered the stairs and is trying to figure them out......give it time!! We are looking forward to a busy rest of the month with December creeping in. The kids are excited for the holidays to come as am I. Most of the shopping is done.....so I'm hoping to sit back and enjoy good food, family and friends.
