Lots of pictures today......lots to tell....

Sorry that I have been a slacker on the blog. I love reading new updates that others put up and hate it when they don't update too frequently......so here I am with a week's update. It has been a busy week and a long week with still adjusting to having a new baby and having sick kids plus the normal hustle and bustle of things.

Last Tuesday we went to Nanny Jackie's school as every year some of the classes hatch baby chicks. The kids always enjoy seeing them and seem to get a little more comfortable around them every year. Jake was the bravest in wanting to actually hold one but we just couldn't get it to happen. It was a fun time and hopefully next year we'll still be able to get a peek at them even though Nanny will be retired!!

Wednesday brought the beginning of summer soccer. The 2 oldest girls are playing this summer and are on the same team. They have golden yellow jerseys and the team name that they picked is " The Golddiggers". We were quite pleased to finally get a game in as the previous two had been rained out. Unfortunately for Sarah she was a little under the weather and only made it halfway through the night. She was then down and out for the next two days with a fever of about 40C (103+) . Jessica enjoyed the night and did pretty well. We are hoping she will be a little more aggressive this year as last year she spent alot of time playing with her hair. Tonight is supposed to be another game but who knows if it will happen or not. We had a pretty rainy weekend so the fields might not get to open.

This weekend was pretty low key. We had the Sears man here Saturday morning to look at the dryer......he will be back tomorrow to replaced the front seals. Thank goodness it wasn't anything too major. I didn't really want to have to buy a new dryer when that one is only 6 years old. After the kids and I headed to Halifax where they got to play with Uncle Mike while I went to a baby shower for Kristi Drennan. It was nice to get out and see some friends I hadn't talked to in awhile. Yesterday was Sunday.....not a typical Sunday around here. Jessica had been complaining of having a sore throat so Jeff took her into the hospital. While there they didn't think it was anything but a virus and took a swab to check for strep and then sent her on her way. I think that Jeff thought he might have looked dumb for taking her in with just a sore throat but in the middle of the afternoon we got the call saying it had come back POSITIVE and that she indeed has strep throat. She is now taking "Banana Medicine" 3 times a day for the next 10 days. Lucky girl......I loved when I got that medicine as a kid!!! It then turned out to be a really quiet day as Jessica slept most of the day and all the other kids crashed. It's too bad that we didn't get to have Sunday naps too but we were busy making a yummy turkey supper. I had to take pictures of all the kids sleeping because it is rare they all crash together.

My little cowboy

So I don't have much of anything to post today but I just can't stop laughing at the cute picture of Jacob in Jeff's hat. Jacob is in love with cowboy hats lately. We were at the mall tonight and what's the first thing he finds in GAP......a cowboy hat.....he was pretty proud of himself. He is talking ALOT more these days and you can even understand what he's trying to tell you. It sure makes life a little easier!!! He is such a fun little boy.....he doesn't like it when I call him little....he'll correct me and tell me that he's a big boy. Enjoy the picture.......

Rain, rain go away.......

So once again it is another rainy day in Nova Scotia.....imagine that!!! I wouldn't complain about the rain except that tonight was supposed to be the girls first soccer game of the season and due to soggy conditions of yesterday and today it surely won't be happening. Tomorrow night is supposed to be game #2 and like above it probably won't happen......and they were excited!!!

We had a busy weekend past.....the girls had fun day at gymnastics. My mom came over and took them as I couldn't fathom sitting in a gym for 2 1/2 hours with the new baby and Jacob. I hear that they had a really fun time and all came home with ribbons and treats. Jessica had her last gymnastics class yesterday and came home with her badge. We were quite proud of her. She is talking about taking a break from gymnastics and doing swimming lessons instead.......I guess we'll wait and see where her opinion stands in September. Sarah has her last class of gymnastics today.....YAHOO!!! The girls both do really well at it but I'm just anxious to have two more free time slots in my life to do my laundry.....yep.....laundry......I never seem to finish it. Who knows....maybe today I'll get closer but I think I'm going to run out of fabric softener before that happens.

5:49 a.m........note the time.....that is when Georgia woke up today!!! She went to bed around 10:30 last night and slept till almost 6 this morning......I think she could sense that I needed a FULL nights sleep. It feels great this morning but I'm sure by the end of the day I'll be exhausted again. The joys of nursing......sometimes I feel like I need to be constantly eating and drinking to have a little bit of energy as I swear she is taking it all from me!! Oh well.....off to the daily grind of my house.....enjoy some pictures of fun day!!!

Someone needed his picture taken....

All night long......

So we finally made it through the night.....no feedings until this morning. How nice it was to have a good nights sleep. The once a night she was getting up wasn't bad but I'm hoping that we are just going to coast through the nights now. Our other girls slept through the night from the beginning.....Jacob took about a month to get rid of the middle of the night snacking. Somehow we have lucked out in the good baby dept. Georgia had her one week checkup the other day.....she was back up to 10lbs 8 oz......only an ounce off her birth weight. The doctor said I couldn't ask for a healthier baby. It's hard to believe that she's just over a week old now......when I was in those last few weeks of pregnancy they were the longest days/weeks of my life. The kids and I are going to hopefully venture out this morning to Old Navy......I've yet to buy something cute and fun for the baby. Hopefully I'll have better luck on this side then I did in Halifax last night. I'm off to get the other 2 dressed......I'll be glad when school is out and we don't have to work around a schedule. Summer is going to be busy with family coming to visit from Alberta and Texas, Karen's wedding and hopefully a camping trip to Keji.......hopefully we'll have a little bit of down time to enjoy!!

Georgia at one week old.....so cute!!!

Finally a baby........and it's a GIRL!!!!

It seems silly posting a blog seeing how everyone has done such a great job at posting information about the new baby. I finally got "the call" last Wednesday at around 1:00pm telling me it was time to come in. I was still skeptical at this point that this was really going to be my day. Around 5:00pm they came in and broke my water......not much came there but the contractions soon were coming at a regular pace......we were in business!! The nurse I had was awesome.....she told me I didn't have to wait until I was dying to get my epidural.....I thought for sure I was hearing her wrong, but I wasn't. So I got the epidural before I had the horrible pains and it was the most enjoyable labour EVER!!! By 9 pm my doctor stopped by for a second visit and I was about 4 cm......not going to fast and I thought for sure we would have a Thursday baby instead. I guess though once you hit 4 cm you can go fairly fast and within the hour I was already up at 8cm. In the end Georgia Marie Nelson made her appearance in the world at 11:24pm after a good 40 minutes of pushing......it took a little longer as she was facing the wrong way and we had to wait for her to turn around. She tipped the scales at 10 lbs 9 oz and was 23 inches long. I was shocked!! I didn't expect to have a girl bigger then the other two.....especially where Sarah was a week late.

She is an absolute delight and the kids are just loving having her around. I am glad to be through the pregnancy and thankful to have no stitches. The after pains really stink after a 4th baby......worse then any labour so I'll be glad when they disappear. I'm going to post some pictures......probably similar to some others but I haven't gotten any new ones up yet. Enjoy.......

Testing out the lungs......

Seeing how big she is......WOW!!!
