more from the birthday......tons of pictures......

Just another quick follow up to my last post. Mike and Keah came over and we had some yummy lemon birthday cake with cream cheese icing that Jeff and the kids made and opened presents. Jeff and the kids got me an awesome lamp from Pier 1 that I had seen the other week and they also got me Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. I can't wait to play with my pictures. I just have to figure out all the tricks!! We got some LEGO for Uncle Mike as he loves that stuff......the kids had fun watching him open that. I'm sure the next time we visit they will want to play with it. My in-laws then came over to watch the kids so we could go out to dinner. Lesley met up with us and we just went down the street to "Vines". Jeff and I have been there before and it is soooooooo awesome!! We had an amazing dinner......the Caesar salad is the best going and I had the Chicken Basil Penne which is scrumptious!! Our waitress even brought out a piece of cheesecake with a pink and blue candle on it for Michael and I. It was yummy!!! Jeff and I then went to Dartmouth Crossings with Mike and Keah for some shopping and then home to bed. All in all it was a great way to ring in 29......hard to believe that I'll be 30 next year........

Happy Happy Birthday.....

So my mom has a sick sense of humour.....some might find it funny but I think over the years we have told her it was sick. There are 4 kids in my family......I have an older brother and 2 younger sisters. We all celebrate birthdays within 10 days of eachother with Michael and I kicking it off today TOGETHER!!! NO we are not twins......he is 2 years older, the wiser is questionable:) I think we have given Mom lots of grief over the years but really I've been his best gift yet as I have lasted 29 years. Laura and Karen are lucky enough to have birthdays 4 days apart.....May 2 and May 6th but by the time the 4th birthday rolls around we are getting pretty caked out!! We still love celebrating all those special days together. This year my parents are gone to Hawaii for our birthday..... so my brother and I are celebrating together. We are going to head out for some yummy dinner tonight and maybe even get in a game of Wahoo......but this is just a quick shout out to him. Hope you have a FANTASTIC Birthday Michael and that your 31st year is extra special and thanks for not giving me back.....it's been a great 29 years!!! Hope we can celebrate many, many more together!!! Love ya!!! Enjoy the picture below that is from my "BIRTH"day 29 years ago......hopefully I'll get some from tonights activities!!!

He really did love me that day.....

I almost forgot......

I almost forgot to mention one awesome thing this week.......we hangout with our good friends Darren and Lesley at least once a week......more lately as we seem to hook up for Idol if were are around. Anyways.......Lesley makes an awesome braided loaf.....stuffed with ham, peppers and cheese. I've been thinking about it lately......so when she asked what snack to bring I had to see if she would make one. The great friend that she is made the BEST one I've had yet......herbs in the bread and extra cheesy.....you can never have to much cheese. So this post is for you ....Lesley!!! Thanks for being such an awesome friend and for bringing the best snack for Idol this week......next time we have to take a picture......it was picture worthy!!!!

Nothing too exciting to report.......

So as you can tell by my title nothing too exciting has gone on in the past week. I did get to go to a double baby shower last week which was a blast and a nice break!!! Georgia came with me but she was really well behaved and had a blast trying to get into all the presents before they were even opened. Can't wait to meet "Baby B" and "Baby T". While I'm talking about babies I have to give a HUGE shout out to my friends Melissa and James......I had a message from her the other day telling me they are finally expecting a baby!!! She is due October 16th and I couldn't be more excited for a baby to come. Melissa and I go way back to the soccer field and I was in her wedding along with my 2 big girls. I love her to death and she is going to be such a fantastic Mom!!!

Melissa and my girls.......they were so little.....

So back to my boring life.......the car race was on Saturday night.....it was a late night.....but luckily Georgia had some wicked gas pains that kept both her and I wide awake to see the whole thing and to see my driver......#48 Jimmy Johnson win the race.....it all came down to fuel and he pulled it off!!! It was a great night......awesome to see him in victory lane......glad in the end that Georgia did get rid of her gas:) Sunday was a typical day.....went to church and hung out at home with the family. Michael stopped in on his way to Truro with a belated birthday gift for Jake.....which he loved and has barely been put down. We also had a very belated gift for Mike & Keah......their Wahoo Board.....it turned out really nice and I just hope no one ever drops it on a foot because I'm sure a hospital visit would follow. We had to make it so it would last forever:) Michael also brought me my treats from my mom......Bath & Body Works and Cap'n Crunch with Crunch Berries. If I had lots of money I would open up a Bath & Body Works.....love their stuff!!! I got some wallflowers this time.....thanks for telling me about them Jodie and just love them . The best air freshener I've ever had. Now I just need to find someone going that way to pick up some more........maybe a road trip girls????

Sorry.....can't get it to turn.....loves Star Wars!!

The finished board......it is the nicest one yet...

After Michael left Jeff went out with the girls for a walk.....I don't really know where they went....I think maybe the beach......water was there....and rocks....the girls were happy!! He took some fun pictures but I love this one of the girls.....

Sorry again......turned them in the file but then
it comes up sideways on here.....ugh!!!! Love this
shot of the two of them.....

So let me think......Monday brought a visit to my parents. Jessica was concerned that Nanny Jackie had told her that she had gone away with her girlfriends. She informed me in the car that Nanny couldn't call them that. They were either her "friends" or "girls"......girlfriends are what boys have. Only out of the mouth of a 6 year old. She comes up with some of the greatest comments. I think Mom got a good chuckle from that....I sure did!!! After our visit Jeff took the kiddies home and I got to go to Karen's for One Tree Hill.......the little break was killing me!!! It's so fun to hangout once a week with no kids and enjoy mindless TV. I love my husband for letting me go........he probably would rather me go there then have to pay to watch it here. Can't wait to see next week's show already......the season is getting good!!!

Wednesday......the kayak came out......no pictures but Jeff and Luke hit Soldier's Lake on Wednesday afternoon for a paddle. I was excited for Jeff to finally get on the water and I was super excited to see Luke because I got my enchilada sauce. Jessica was sweet enough to meet up with my friend Becca while she was in SLC and bring it home for me......it saved Becca mailing it and now I can enjoy it sooner. Thanks a MILLION Jessica and Becca.....you guys are great!!! I can't wait to make them......I'm now off to bed.....nothing much happened today......Georgia fell backwards in her seat tonight.........and has a huge red egg on the back of her head. That child is always moving......she is pretty tough though and can handle all the bumps and scrapes. I'm off to volunteer at the school tomorrow.....they are having their "Spring Fling" in the morning.....it should be a fun time. Hopefully I remember my camera and can get a few pictures.......I have no idea what I'm in charge of but can't wait to see the kids faces. Off to switch the laundry.....I would love to know how to make those pictures turn the right way........hope all is well with everyone else!!! Till next time......

Beautiful weather and no blogs.......

So with the beautiful weather we have been lucky enough to have my blogging has kinda been put on the side burner. I guess the good thing about it is that we have been busy so I've got something to write about and even some pictures to go with it!!

So last Thursday (April 3rd) started out as a pretty normal day in our house with the morning hustle to get ready for school. In helping the kids get ready for school I decided that I would quickly wash their faces. Anyone who has ever seen me scrub a face knows I am fast and am not too concerned about how gentle I am doing it. Now Jessica lost one top tooth awhile ago and we really thought the other front one would follow quickly but instead of getting looser it seemed to be getting tighter. We were starting to worry it was growing back in.....LOL!! So as I'm scrubbing her face she is fighting me because she just hates having it down. So during this workout the washcloth gets caught on the sharp corner of her front tooth and RRRRIIIIPPPPPPP......the blood was everywhere........this wouldn't have been so bad if maybe it had come out but instead it was hanging sideways........and at this point we were going to be late for school. Needless to say I took Sarah to school and told Jessica's teacher she would be late......I think it was about 30 minutes late......the bleeding just didn't want to stop.

We will fast forward to after school that day when we thought in the windy weather it would be great to go for a family bike ride. We packed the bikes up and headed to Nanny Jackie's as she has some great paths by her house to bike on. I think when we got there the first thing Laura said about Jessica's tooth was, " That's disgusting.......it needs to come out." It truly was but was kinda funny to look at!!! Back to the bikes......we got everyone geared up.....including Georgia.....this year she is big enough for her bike trailer so we got her a helmet and took her along for the ride. The kids had a blast going up and down some hills and didn't want to come in. They have gone for a few bike rides this year and just could go forever. It is a huge difference from last year. We just have to get rid of the training wheels now!!!

Georgia all geared up and ready to go......

Jessica heading in for a break......

Sarah loves cruising on her bike.....

Jake can go super fast this year......

I bet you are curious about the tooth still and what became of it.......so we get back from the bike ride and my Dad had ordered some pizza for supper.....yummy yum!! Jessica sadly was having troubles eating and that's when the bribery started.......Daddy almost had it out but Jessica was a little nervous still so off he went to do some work for a friend. While I wasn't in the room my mom some how got permission to pull........and out it came. Thank heavens.......I think I would have done it while she was sleeping because I couldn't handle looking at it. She has an empty smile but it's cute!!!

This is how her tooth hung ALL day.....ugh!!!

A little emptier but so much better.....

Now aside from that we haven't been up to too much......the spring weather has been a nice change......I'm just dying to get rid of all the winter gear. It has all gone through 2 winters and is dirty and wearing out. I've gotten my money's worth and then some so I don't mind parting with it. Work is starting to pick up again for Jeff so we are seeing a little less of him every day but I won't complain about that. We are looking forward to more birthdays this month and then both the girls have birthdays in May so I have to start planning now. We are sad to see some friends head back to Utah this month as they are done dental school but with technology it will be alot easier to keep in touch!! It has been great getting to know them all. I'm sure in the next few weeks the kayak will be hitting the water. Jeff and Luke Petersen did a rolling course the other week so Jeff is anxious for the waters to warm up to try this out. I'll be sending Luke out with him to practice things like that........I would be scared he wouldn't be able to get back up!!! I will sign out now......Jake has had a fever on and off since yesterday so I am going to go and hangout with him. Enjoy the pictures.......
