Sister Day November 2009

This month's events included hiking the "Y", eating sushi, and shopping for wintry clothes (sorry Jeff...). While on top of the "Y" I really wanted Heidi to experience it upside down. Her first attempt she got mid way, more like diagonal, and said, "OOOH okay I'm done, I'm done!" Her second attempt was a success though! And look, we even have proof!!!
Okay, so this next photo cracks me up because 1) she's giving a thumbs up and 2) her feet look enormous.
While up on the mountain we noticed I had a slight high water problem...
Doesn't it look fun to lie upside down?!
The best part of the hike down the "Y" was this:

***Side note: heidi's pants were falling off as she was running...haha
We made it down gracefully without any injuries! Success!
After our hike we went to get some sushi for lunch. It was MMMmmmgood and I learned that I need to practice holding chopsticks. And using them for that matter. Also, we learned that the Japanese mean business when they say something is spicy. The artichoke hearts (at least that is what it looked like) were burning with ginger and the wasabi was fire itself. Lesson learned: Don't taste test in large quantities.
After lunch we went shopping at the mall. We found some suuuper cute items such as these:
I should be paid for modeling these muffs.
Stay tuned for next month's events!
CHEERS!

mini break

you know, today i felt like i needed a break. so i took it. i drove up to my sisters this morning and we talked and talked. we talked about her kids, my dating life (this one is generally entertaining to her), her life, shared our latest funny youtube clips, and talked some more. talking is therapeutic. this morning i wasn't feeling too hot, but right now i'm feeling fantastic; much better compared to the morning.
right now halle and cole (niece and nephew) are jumping from the top of the couch onto pillows onto the floor belly flop style and having a blast. halle counted to 130 for me today, thats 30 more than last time. and 50 more than the previous time. ha, just imagine it, listening to a five year old count to 100 (it takes fooooooorever)...now 130. so funny though! i love them, they are growing up fast! i love escaping provo to see them. they are my relief! you can't not smile and feel happy when they are around.

Adventures of October and November

These past two months have been a blast. I'm going to share with you what I've been up to in pictures.
Rock Climbing in Maple Canyon. I've met some really awesome people in my ward and they love to climb. When I was about to graduate from BYU I made a small list of hobbies that I wanted to pick up b/c I honestly didn't have the money and time in school to do these things. One of them was climbing. This isn't me on the picture, but I climbed that and I lead climbed it too! It was my first climb of the day, first climb in about 6 months and I lead climbed. It felt awesome!
This was taken in Maple Canyon where we were climbing. It was gorgeous! Maple leaves everywhere on the ground! It was magical, really!
We live in pretty awesome place! Utah rocks.
Overlooking the valley by Maple Canyon.
Jessica and I made plans early in the Fall Season to run the American Fork Halloween Fun Run 5k. Everyone dresses up in their costumes and runs through the city AND even the cemetery! It was a lot of fun! Jessica wore her Miss Fortune costume and I got there a little late so I didn't have time to dress up, but we had a blast. See below for afterwards. Her wig was wild.
People running through the cemetery!!!! OOoooOOOOO, eerie yes?
VavaVOOM! Miss Fortune is lookin' sassy!
Here is a great example of the funny pranks that we do to each other at home. Lately we were really into scaring each other because it was Halloween time. Kaylene and I placed this skull head and "snuggie" in Jessica's room for her to find after her date one night. We used to have a life size Orlando Bloom in his pirate garb from Pirates of the Caribbean (you might have seen him from the video). We had a lot of fun placing him in corners, behind closet doors, etc. to scare each other. They got me good once.
These our our pumpkins. Mine is the one with the oober tiny face. He was called "The Nightstalker" according to the pattern I used. We did well i think!
Halloween 2009! Here they are! Miss Take, Miss Matched, Miss Behaved, and Miss Fortune. Don't we look darling? Being a brunette for the night was fun.
Miss Behaved and angry.
Miss Take and a SS Nazi German? Yipes!
At the Stake Party. It was in a barn with dancing, food, and good times.
Zions National Park. This weekend a friend in my ward asked me if I wanted to head down to Southern Utah for the weekend. It was kind of a last minute trip to just get out of Provo for the weekend. I'm glad I went because it was well worth it! We drove down Friday night and stayed in Cedar City at a friend's house. We got up at 6:00am and headed to Zions. The hikes we did were Observation Point and Middle/Lower Pool (I don't think those are the real names for this one). We didn't do Angels Landing because well there wasn't much time. We had to be back to Provo at 6pm. We hiked about 10 miles that day and I'm feeling it today. Oh boy!
This cliff looked like frog about to jump off the edge! How neat is that!
On top of Observation Point. Angels Landing is just to the right. We were above it! It was beautiful!
The group! Rob, Emily, Adam, Me, Greg, McCall, and Alyssa.
My roommate asked who the hippie was in this picture....funny funny! Don't you know that tie-dye is the new "it" item this season. I'm just getting ahead of the fashion world and debuting it on top of a mountain. Take that!
Hope everyone is doing well! Hope you are able to get outside and explore before it gets too cold!!!! Being outdoors is liberating! Love you all!
