I've been staying with my sister the last couple of days and the other night we had a really good talk. My sister is amazing and I think she's lucky to have me as a sister. Just kidding. I mean I'm lucky. In all seriousness though she's awesome and I love her very, very much. I'm glad that we can talk serious and then make jokes and laugh all in one conversation. We were talking about faith and then at one point she says a movie quote from Horton Hears a Who:
"Just this once, be faithful 99 percent of the time! I mean, I've never gone 99 percent on anything, and I think I'm awesome."
Maybe you'll think this is funny, maybe not. But it lightened my spirit!
Love ya Heid!

Cotton Bottom Bar, a real treat!
Every Tuesday in the summer our office does lunch together; everyone signs up as pairs to host a lunch for the office and some Tuesdays we go out to lunch together. This Tuesday (today) just so happened to be the going out kind. And where did we go? Well, let me tell you! Cotton Bottom Bar. Yes, my co-workers took me to the biker bar for the famous garlic burger (No worries everyone was strictly professional and ordered Pepsi and H2O). The Human Resource manager is LDS and she organizes the lunch dates, etc. So when she asked if I wanted to go with everyone to Cotton Bottom for a hamburger, a delicious garlic burger, I said, "Yeah! Count me in!" She then told me that this place is a bar and that we would all eat outside so no worries. Her words were, "From the outside you will think 'Man, this place is a real dive.' But their garlic burgers are really good and that is all that we go there for." Well after hearing it was a bar, my boss Patti telling me that I really need to see this place because it's just, ya know, funny, and the garlic burgers I really had to go. So don't chastise me about going to a bar (We ate outside on a picnic table). Well Patti and I drove there together and I have to say I was shocked. Just look at the picture below and it will tell you all you need to know.
Yes, that is a rabbit drinking a brewsky. CHEERS! Anywho Patti and I are the first to get there. Let me describe the scene. Picture this. A chain link fence around 4 round picnic tables with dusty faded umbrellas, biker dudes in grey beards and cut off shirts (no sleeves) drinking, and a middle aged woman smoking in the corner eating a hamburger, a brown shack with faded/dusty windows, a screen door as an entrance, a 50 year old waitress/cook in black hot pants and purple tank top with smoker voice, and a male waiter in black cut off shorts and a black t-shirt with some tattoos. It was awesome. Patti and I sat down at this big picnic table by the entrance to the bar (we didn't go in, we all ordered and ate outside). About 5 minutes later the purple tank top waitress comes out and says to me, "Can I see your I.D. please?" "Yes! Here you go!" I was fairly confident that I would pass the test. I'm pretty sure I looked 12 compared to the regular crowd. She asked us what we would like to drink: Patti said, "Diet Pepsi please." I said, "Root Beer, please" (In my head I was thinking say water, say water, but I had to say Root Beer, I really had to). She said, "We don't have that." I said, "Water is great!" Then most of our co-workers had shown up by then and we ate our Cotton Bottom garlic hamburgers. Then Patti told me I had to go inside to check it out because it's so funny. So I said "Okay, I'll check it out." She went in with me and I had not walked four steps when three old men said, "OH! They just keep gettin' prettier and prettier!!" I nervously laughed, "He..he." Then one of them said, "I might just have to stay a little longer!" And I said to Patti, "I don't think I will!!!" And I jetted out of there quickly. It was dark and stinky. We had a good laugh on the way back to the office.

We had a good laugh on the way back to the office. It was the best lunch experience so far. If I contract any major diseases in my lifetime, I attribute it to the Cotton Bottom.

Now I can say that I've been carded, hit on by three 60 year old men, and asked for Root Beer at a bar. My life's complete. 'Sigh'

Bear Lake
This weekend my roommate Dani and some friends went to Bear Lake for the weekend. I hadn't been there since I was about seven. Bear Lake is beautiful! I wish I had gotten a picture of the lake from our cabin. It was gorgeous. The lake is turquoise and our view from the cabin was amazing. I should have gotten a picture of the cabin we stayed in. Some day I'd like a cabin there. It was wonderful! We drove up Friday evening around 6pm, after everyone got off work. We packed the car up and headed out. Roadtrips are always fun. It took us about 3 hours to get there and we were ready to be there by the second hour. Once we got there we unloaded our stuff and relaxed by the t.v. to watch a moooovie. Everyone was asleep in ten minutes. The next morning Dani, Andy, Ashley, and I made breakfast for everyone there. It was delicious. Dani makes the best scrambled eggs in the world. She puts cream cheese in them!!! From this day on if I want gourmet scrambled eggs I will put cream cheese in them. After breakfast we got ready to go swimming. We decided to go to this glacier lake in Bloomington, Idaho near the mountains, it was about an hour away. This tiny lake had a rope swing and some cliffs to jump off. The rope swing was pretty sweet because it swung you out really far. I wanted to swing on that thing all day if I could. I have a video of it below if you want check out it's sweetness. After swimming in Idaho we decided to hit the beach at Bear Lake. It was nice to just wade out in the lake. You can wade in the water for about 100 meters and it is up to your chest. It was so cool. People were tossing footballs and frisbees in the water. It was great. After we swam in the lake for a bit, Andy and I attempted to make a sand castle. That proved difficult. So instead we used some wet sand and it oozed through your fingers to make this really cool tower. That is our "castle" below. Charming. After Bear Lake we headed back to the cabin and everyone was fried. I am fried still. Our dinner was yummy though. Andy's brother and wife made dutch oven enchiladas and peach cobler. So good! After dinner we went to get a famous raspberry shake in Garden City, right by Bear Lake. The shakes were good, but honestly it tasted the same as any other shake (my Mom says they are famous because "they are thick!"....riiiiight). It was a good shake nonetheless. :) After that we headed back to the cabin. Everyone was so pooped out from playing all day that we all fell asleep watching another movie within ten minutes. The next morning we had a hearty breakfast consisting of waffles, eggs, toast, and fruit. We ate good this trip. All in all it was a great weekend and I got a few pictures with the help of Dani. She took most of them because I am in the habit of forgetting to take pictures. Thanks Dani!

A little tuckered out by the end of the weekend.
The majestic castle complete with moat.
This is the lake with the rope swing. You can see a person hanging onto the rope.
This is the view from the shore of the glacier lake and you can see the small glacier. Yes, it is very small. But isn't it gorgeous! Those cliffs are where we jumped off into the water.

Attempt number 247.
I'm attempting the impossible again. I will not bite my finger nails anymore. Reason #1: its just gross. Reason #2: it looks like i have baby hands (which is funny to me especially when i paint them). Reason #3: i could get swine flu or any other communicable disease...eesh :(. Reason #4: its very very bad for my teeth. Reason #5: I want pretty nails :).
My last reason may take a long time seeing as how long I've been chipping away at this little nails. I shouldn't get too excited for Number 5 because having short stubby nails in my family is hereditary. Sorry! So if you marry me, just know that your children will have stubby nails too. I also have painted my fingernails to further distract me from a biting frenzy, please keep your giggles and smirks to a minimum. I even have to! Honestly they look so funny!!! I don't care though, whatever it takes! :)
Here's to pretty nails!
*If you have any other reasons why I shouldn't bite my nails anymore please do share. Anything helps! Scary gross scientific facts really work.
