Remember....

This rash??

Well Delaney finished up the medicine they gave her for it, and it cleared up. Sadly it hasn't stayed away, and has started coming back :( So we got her an appt. to go in with Haden who had an appt. as well. The doctor is thinking it is eczema. We are going to try some medicine and see if it works. Who knows?!
Cute kiddos waiting at the doctors!!!

Remember.....
This cut???
(I will spare you by only posting the stitches photo)

Well today was the day that his stitches came out!!!
2 weeks later and he finally got his stitches out!

Haden was super nervous, and worried it would hurt. He did great and Jeff just had him lay back while they took them out. Haden also wanted to bring his stitches home, so the doctor gave him a baggie with them in it. Not sure what we're going to do with them, lol!!! Glad to have them out and one less thing to worry about :)

Day 3 and the verdict is in.....

I think we are safe to say Kahle is Potty Trained!!!

Today he did not have a single accident!!!! He had two times where he had a spot of pee on his underwear, but quickly stopped himself and made it on the potty! He woke up dry this morning and from his nap! In fact he has been used to changing his underwear throughout the past 2 days, that after wearing the same pair for the morning today, he requested to change them, lol! He is so proud of himself and we couldn't be happier!

It is bittersweet, knowing that my baby is no longer a baby and is a big boy! That he is old enough to be potty trained, and that I will no longer have little babies in my house (until grandkids, which will be a while). But at the same time we no longer have diapers in our house! After 8 1/2 years we are diaper free, with only 2 1/2 years of that having only 1 in diapers the rest of the time has been 2 or 3 in diapers. That in itself is a celebration! I guess I will just have to enjoy other's babies....

We are SO proud of Kahle, and how awesome he is!!!!! Yay for being so big, catching on quickly and making this an easy process!!!!

Day 2 of Potty Training!

Today in taking a picture to document this journey, Kahle decided to pose and do a photo session :) He is way too cute!!!
Today he woke up DRY! He slept in underwear and slept the whole night without an accident! He had an okay morning, but did make it on the potty a couple of times! Then he went down for a nap and again woke up DRY! Loving that!! After naps was a whole new ball game! He had a tiny pee accident (It's like a drop, which it's really it's hard to say it's an accident), and his first poop accident....BUT that was IT! The rest of the time would go like this '*Gasp* Mom (or Dad)!!' and we knew he had to go! So off to the bathroom we would run.
He has caught on and is doing so good! I am loving it!!! He is so proud, and we are so proud of him!!!!

Potty Training 101

Guess who started potty training?!!
Yesterday Jeff and I realized we only had 2 diapers left, and so Jeff headed out to pick up diapers and some things for dinner for today. When he returned he realized he forgot the diapers, and the discussion began on if we even wanted to spend the money on them again. Kahle has shown many signs of being ready, including telling us he had to go potty before he had gone in his diaper. So together we made the decision that we would stop putting it off and start potty training!

The Potty Training in 3 days worked so well for Delaney, that we are going that route with Kahle. So I stayed home from church with Kahle today to start our hopefully successful potty training process!

He has had many accidents, but as the day progressed he would stop himself when an accident would start, and let Jeff or I know he had to go. Then we would run to the bathroom, so I know he is getting what is going on! He has struggled with peeing on the potty but we are getting there. Jeff showed Kahle how to pee, and asked if Kahle could do it, Kahle said yes and started peeing while standing there, lol! Jeff got him on the toilet and he peed!! So he can do it, it is just going to take time for him to relax and go on the potty regularly :) All in all I am quite happy with how today went! He is so proud of himself and loving that he gets to wear underwear.

Delaney's Eye....

2 days ago Delaney scratched her eye with her fingernail. It hurt! Jeff did some searches online and pretty much everything we read talked about how quickly eyes heal and to just give it some time. She was up off and on throughout the night, because it was hurting. By the next morning though she was doing SO much better! Hardly any pain, she had a little bit of redness around her eye, but nothing to make us wonder what was going on. Later that day the redness was getting to be a little more, but we still decided to watch and see. Yesterday it seemed to be better, not as red so we thought it was getting better. Well she woke up this morning with some swelling around her eye and the redness was worse! So we decided to take her in and see what it was, the urgent care seems to think that it's an infection around her eye, but nothing to do with her eyeball. So they have put her on Augmentin and we are crossing our fingers that will take care of it!
If you know what we've been through with this girl, you will know that she has had her fair share of random weird rashes that come from no where and stump us all. So it's not totally uncommon for her to be dealing with weird rashes. It's not really (if at all) bugging her, nor is it painful, just red and slightly swollen. She keeps asking when the red is going to go away, if only we had an answer for her!
So we will wait and see when it starts to clear up, and hopefully it will happen sooner than later! They said we should notice a difference in 3 days, so praying we do!

25 Stitches!!!

This morning started out like any other morning. Haden and Grant were playing in the closet, others were watching tv and we were just hanging out. Jeff had Delaney at the urgent care (that is for another post, she scratched her eye and now has a rash under it). The trunk (above) was on it's side and Haden stepped up on it, as soon as he stepped up it totally broke. And from what we can tell he scrapped the corner of the lid (the far left of the trunk at the bottom of the picture). He came out crying, stopped and looked at his leg and then started screaming.

The pictures below are not for those who have trouble looking at blood. I'm not one who has trouble with it, and these made me a little sick.
(Haden asked me to put this on the blog)

That is so sad and so sick!
A nasty, large cut!

I called Jeff and told him he needed to get home, like now! He told urgent care they would be back, and came straight home. Haden asked for Jeff to take him because it would me make me sad. And to be honest I held it together until he left and then cried, and cried while talking to Jeff and my Mom. And Jeff told me it was probably best he wasn't here when it happened, because it was hard enough to be there with him. Just watching your child be scared, hurt and not sure what was going to happen, and trying to be strong so he doesn't freak out. That is hard!!!
25 stitches later and some glue on another cut, he was set to go home!
Handsome boy, with his wrapped up leg! Such a trooper, so strong and Jeff said he did awesome!!!!

I do have to say I am amazed that with 5 kids, in the 8 1/2 years of having kids, this is our first major accident with any of them. Praying we don't have to do this for a very long time, if ever!!!

Nothing like feeling like an awful parent!

Today Grant had to have a molar pulled because he had a big cavity on it, and he got some cavities filled. I've never had a cavity in my life, and I feel AWFUL knowing that he had to go through this. Major bad parent guilt here! He was an awesome trooper!
Waiting for the 'happy juice' as they called it!
This dentist office is set up Great for little kids! They have video games, toys and a small room set up like a movie theater! Grant played video games while we waited for the medicine to take affect.
Becoming totally relaxed!
And getting to watch Bolt :)
It's enough to make me stand over top my kids while they brush from here on out.
All done!

A lesson learned that even though you have shown your older kids how to brush right, it doesn't mean they always do. We are going to have to help, teach and watch as they brush until they do it right. I really don't want to do this again.

I hate feeling like I've failed my child. Worst feeling in the world! Especially when I feel like it's something I could have prevented! Hoping to make sure that our kids brush well and thorough from here on out.
