Our Scheduled C-section!

So I had my appt. with my OB today and we have scheduled our c-section for June 2nd at 7:30 am. The thing is in our ultrasound when we found out we were having a boy the tech said that Kahle was measuring a week ahead. My OB at the time didn't really say much about it, even though my belly was measuring a little big as well. This week he measures me and I am measuring big still! So we talked about setting the date and when we wanted to do it, but at 36 weeks (so in about 6 weeks) Dr. Martin wants to re-check things out, most likely have another ultrasound to see where we are at. To see how big Kahle is and figure out what we want to do from there. He said I may go into labor before the 2nd, and if I do from 36 weeks on they will just go ahead with the c-section. But if we find he is getting big, like we think, we may push our date up. So I guess, even though we have an date set, it is still just waiting and seeing. There is a big part of me that freaks out that we could have him sooner than I have been thinking, but at the same time it makes me excited as well :) So for now we are going with June 2nd, but also I am going to start getting things together and done, so if he does come earlier or we decide to take him earlier I am prepared! I figure for my bigger projects, I will just take one a weekend and mark them off my list. Then the smaller ones I will just start getting done throughout the week. It will be good, and help the time to pass quickly. We also have started the 2 week appt. so I see him in 2 weeks, which is just crazy to me! It means we are definitely at the end! I look forward to meeting this baby boy, and welcoming him into our family!

We hope she has a Fantastic Birthday!! Filled with lots of fun! Love ya girl!!

My results are in..........

I got a call from the nurse telling me that I passed the 3 hour glucose test! I was so excited!!! She told me she was pretty sure I would, but now we know for sure that everything is good. It is a huge relief to know that is over and I don't have to worry about it anymore!

I will be 29 weeks tomorrow, which I can't believe! I see my OB on Tuesday and we will be setting our c-section date then. It will be a week earlier than my due date, so that means we have 11 weeks until my due date, so only 10 weeks until Kahle is here. So crazy, but so exciting!! Once I get the official date the boys and I will make a countdown that we can do daily! Haden and Grant can't wait to hold him, Cole is starting to talk more about Kahle and how much he loves him, which is so fun!! Delaney has no clue, and has me a bit worried how she will react. I am hoping she surprises me :) The boys are already looking forward to staying at my parents while I am in the hospital, lol! They are talking about telling bed time stories with Papa Dan (according to our boys, no one can tell bed time stories like Papa), and taking a bath there, getting to have sleep overs and play with Papa Dan, Grammy and Mak. I am glad that they enjoy going there and that it is somewhere I know they feel so comfortable it doesn't make it so bad for Mom to be in the hospital. And I know they are taken care of! Thanks ahead of time Mom and Dad, we owe you big time :)

I can't wait to hold this little man, and welcome him into our family!

Well it's not St. Patrick's day anymore!

I figure I need to write a new post :) We haven't been up to much, just the day to day fun. Last week Jeff hurt his foot at work, a guy he was working with dropped 2 rails on it. I am not sure what exactly they are, but they are super heavy. He thought he might have broken it, but said it is feeling better. So I guess we will see. On Wednesday of last week I got a call saying I failed my 1 hour glucose test by 8 points. The nurse on the phone said it wasn't a lot, and she thinks that I will be fine. But my Dr. wanted me to do the 3 hour glucose test, to be safe. So on Friday we took Haden to school and then Jeff dropped me off at the Doctors office (they have a lab tech person there). So I go in, fasting of course, and she draws my blood and has me drink the oh so yummy drink (*note the sarcasm). Then I have to come back in an hour and have my blood drawn, and we do this for the next 3 hours. So in total I had blood drawn 4 times that morning, and she drew it from the same arm each time. By the end my arm was so sore, I was hungry and very lightheaded. And SO glad to have it over with!! I personally think it is cruel to have a pregnant lady fast for that long, and think they should come up with a new way of doing this. I am hoping to find out in the next couple days if I passed or not. If they don't call me by Wednesday, I am going to be calling them. After my test, Jeff came back and picked me up. Then my Dad had called and asked if Jeff was going to take the boys camping, my brother, Nate, was taking his son and my Dad and brother, Mak, were going with him. Jeff didn't want to go with a sore foot, and also was waiting to hear if they were running overtime for Saturday. My Dad then volunteered to take Haden and Grant with him, he said he wanted to. So we went home, packed up the boys and took them over to my parents house. And off they went! Cole and Delaney really like the attention they get without having 2 older brothers around! Jeff and I laughed because of how easy it is to have only 2 kids, compared to the 4, not that we would have our life any other way! The boys had a BLAST camping! I need to get some pictures from my brother, I forgot to send my camera with my Dad. They loved it! Thanks guys for taking them with you!!! Here are just some cute pictures I had taken! This first one is of Cole and Delaney laying on the floor while Jeff and I are cooking dinner! They played and kept each other entertained, and had fun! It was nice because usually these two want/need to be apart of everything we are doing in the kitchen. The second picture is of Delaney taking care of her dolls. She had carried them around for quite a while, and was so cute with them. She was loving them, feeding them and making sure they were taken care of. It is always amazing to me to see how small little girls are when the 'motherly' instincts show up. I love watching her play and be the mom to these dolls!

~Happy St. Patrick's Day~

At Haden's school today they didn't have to wear the school uniform if they wore something with green on it. Haden was SO excited to do this. He checked all of us to make sure we were wearing green before he left for school :) I made them green eggs (we didn't have ham) and toast with green milk. Haden loved it, Grant thought I was weird and Cole and Delaney didn't even notice! It's fun that Haden is old enough to get these little holidays and enjoy them. I LOVE having kids to celebrate these holidays with, they make them so much more fun!! We hope you all have a fun filled day, just like ours has been so far! And maybe you will be lucky enough to spot a leprechaun :)

27 weeks and counting!

Well time is flying and we are already 27 weeks through this pregnancy! Only 13 weeks until my due date and 12 weeks until I should have my c-section! It is so exciting and so overwhelming all at the same time! We took this picture of me yesterday. I have realized the only thing my pregnancies have in common are the way I carry. With all of my boys I carried out and lower. With Delaney I carried back and high. Other than that they have all been different, symptoms wise. Haden reminds me daily that my belly is getting big :) Gotta love my 6 year old! On Saturday Jeff and I went and toured a different/newer hospital than the one we have delivered all the other kids at. My OB says it is an all around better hospital. My one concern was that I wanted Kahle to be with me from the moment he is born. So we had called and asked and they told us that they take the babies to the nursery for 1-3 hours. Well when I heard that I had made up my mind and was not going to the newer hospital. But talking to others I heard they didn't take the babies to the nursery. So we decided to go and tour it to ask our questions in person, see the hospital and make our decision from there. Well for one thing the hospital is awesome! It is so nice, not too busy and just seemed like a calm atmosphere. So we go on the tour and the nurse asks if there were any questions. Jeff then asked about the babies and what happens with them when having a c-section. She said the babies go to the nursery for 1 - 1 1/2 hours, but the Dad goes with the baby. So he asked if there was anyway to not have the baby go to the nursery. She said well that all depends on the nurse that day, and it is something that we needed to talk to them with when we come to deliver. But then she went on to say that a lot of times it is if the baby needs to be in the nursery. And really I will have had 5 c-sections, 4 of them I have taken care of the baby in recovery (with the help of Jeff and family) and we have been fine. But thinking about it the only negative to this hospital was that, Kahle might have to go to the nursery (but Jeff can be with him) and we aren't even sure that is going to happen. Everything else was a huge plus! So after much thought, and discussion between Jeff and I we are going with the newer hospital, Southern Hills. I am super excited!! Going on the tour made it that much more exciting!

Here is a cute picture of Cole, he just looked so sweet and so innocent and really wanted his picture taken :) Gotta love this kid!
Delaney is a funny little girl, not a lot of people see that side of her, but she is hilarious! Here she is loving to make Jeff and I laugh!
We still don't have a middle name for Kahle. I need to look up our family history to see if we can find a two syllable name that sounds good with it. He will have one before he is born, but not sure how soon before he is born!
Also I updated the kids' pictures on the right side. I realized that I hadn't done that since December! And they looked too cute yesterday before church to not! Delaney is wearing a dress my sister Dana got her at my shower. I couldn't wait to put her in it, and cleaning out her closet the other day I saw it and it fit!! I was so excited!

OB Appointment Today and our Baby's Name!

Today I had an OB appointment, Jeff got to come with me, which I am so grateful for! So we started to talk dates, and he really doesn't want to go earlier than a week, and I guess there are rules that you can only do a week early unless you do an amnio. We tried, Jeff kept bringing it back to what we wanted. This is something Dr. Kahle never did (go by the rule), but this doctor doesn't feel comfortable doing, which I totally understand. And really I don't want to do an amnio. So we should be (at my next appt. which is March 31st) setting the date for the 2nd or 3rd of June. We also were going to go to one of the newer hospitals here, but when we called they said that they take the baby to the nursery for 1-3 hours until I am out of recovery. And that is one thing I have LOVED about Summerlin, is that our baby stays with us from the moment he/she is born. But my OB said that Summerlin is a harder hospital to schedule with, and if we can't get the date we want we either have to look at a different date, or pick a new hospital. So we will see once we sit down to schedule at our next appt. Me and our baby boy are doing fine. I do my glucose test before I go in, and will get my Rhogam shot, since I am RH- at my next appt. Nothing too exciting! I look forward to our next appt. and setting an actual date to look forward to!

On to our Baby Boy's name.....My Mom and I were driving home with the kids from her house to ours the other night and Grant is telling us a story about a courageous snake, and this snakes' name was Buttley :) The more he went on the more my Mom and I realized he was referring to Bentley. We were laughing so hard! We don't say butt in our house, but it totally came out of no where! Leave it up to a little boy to come up with that name! Grant told me that is what he wanted to call our new baby, ack! So the next day I had told Jeff and we laughed. I can't name our baby something that is going to have such a nickname from his own brother! So we are changing his name, lol! This is seriously the hardest time we have ever had naming a child, and even with whatever name we pick, I know that it won't be a definite name until he is born. We have talked about it and have decided we are going to go with Kahle as the first name instead! We are still coming up with a middle name that goes with it. We have both liked the name, but I wasn't sure it could be my baby's first name with where the name comes from. But I have moved past it and we both really really love the name and have since the beginning! But like I said, it still could change, lol! So that is that, we hope :) We don't have a middle name yet, but that will come!

OUCH!

The other day I was watching my friend, Natali's kids while she went to an appt. When she came to drop off her kids, Delaney freaked out thinking I was the one leaving. She went running and tripped and fell. When she fell she hit her face on the wood part of our ottoman. She now has some cuts and soreness under her poor nose from it. It bled off and on throughout the day, poor thing! I felt so bad for her, and still do every time I look at her sweet little face! This picture is from a little after it happened, it actually looks worse today then it did then. She now has scabs on her upper lip, below her nose, it is just sad!

I also had to reschedule my OB appt. to this coming Tuesday. So I haven't gotten to talk to him about a c-section date. Still crossing my fingers he will schedule one at this coming appt. I am glad Jeff will be coming with me! He seems to help me ask for what I want, then just go along with the doctor. I know it probably sounds dumb, I can say this is what I want and am going to say to my doctor, but when I get in there I totally chicken out :) When Jeff is there, he either stands up for me or gives me the guts to do it myself!

Here are some random pictures :)

New words!

Delaney doesn't talk a whole lot yet, I think she is going to be one that does it in her own time. She has started to try and say a few things, that make Jeff and I totally laugh because of how she sounds when she says them. I need to video her saying things because it is not how I expected her to sound. She has started calling me Mom like the rest of the kids, but she doesn't just say it she yells it. And will repeat it over and over again until I look at her to hear what she has to say. It is always followed by some rambling and then she goes on with what she was doing. Jeff is Daddy, and she definitely loves her Daddy!!! She started saying Puppy, it sometimes comes out as 'uppy' but it's like she knows that is not how she should say it, so she will try until she gets the p at the beginning out! She also is saying Rabbit, not bunny, but rabbit. It is quite funny to hear her say it. She can say up and please, but chooses not to! She says snack, and has the word 'No' down :) As well as the word Mine, such a fun one for her to learn, lol! She can say Ta Da when she is doing a trick. The other day she started calling Haden, 'anen', but is definitely talking to him and loves when he respond. Haden also loves that she say his name!! When watching the Little Einsteins on Disney, she says 'Pat' and pats along with them, as well as saying 'Blast Off' and throwing her arms in the air! Those are her newest ones, and only in a matter of time will she be talking up a storm!!

Just to answer some questions :)

We really don't like Ben. I know that it makes sense to use it with his name being Bentley, but Ben is not really a choice of Jeff's or mine, so we would rather not :) I know in my family (at least) we can come up with totally not name related nick names, so we will find something that fits him other than his name.

Kahle is pronounced like Kale (kay-el) if that makes sense.

I also realize that not everyone is going to like this, but it is a name that Jeff and I really like, it is one that has stood out to both of us (just like the names of our other kiddos). So we are going with it. I love the name, the middle name and the sound of it all together. If you don't like it that is fine, maybe it will grow on you :)

His name is...

After going back and forth on names, tonight Jeff and I were kind of talking about it. There has been a name that Jeff has really liked, I liked it but wasn't so sure about it. The more I have looked at names the more this one has stood out to me. The name is Bentley! For a middle name I really wanted to use Mann, my maiden name, but it just really didn't flow with our last name. We tried and tried, but it just wasn't working. We like for our kids' middle names to have meaning. While talking about middle names Jeff threw out the name Kahle, and it works! I love the sound of it!! For those of you who don't know Dr. Kahle was my OB since we were very first pregnant with Haden. He has been a HUGE part of our lives through many hard times and is definitely part of our family! He sadly passed away at the end of November and we were devastated! He is an amazing person and made a huge impact in our lives! So for now his name is going to be Bentley Kahle Nicks! Now don't go making anything with his name on it, lol! As it can still change, up until he is born. But we are excited about this name, we love it and look forward to meeting our little Bentley!
