This post is for journaling purposes, I haven't written any of it down and I don't want to forget.Possibly a TMI(too much info) warning- but really just a BD (boring details) warning.Dec. 17, 2009
So the day we were flying out to Utah I was rushing around getting things ready and was feeling a bit different. Smelling strange things, eating strange things- getting carsick- while driving- just feeling a little off. So I began worrying -If I am pregnant I should be eating better and taking vitamins and not eating this lunch meat etc.-
Tay called from school and I told him, he said there is no way you are pregnant, just take a test so you will stop worrying. I also knew the chances were slim to none but I took the test, and went back to my long to-do list the next time I went in the bathroom I remember and glanced at the test.... 2 pink lines- no way! I was a bit shocked, but happy- a bit in denial though because I went and got another test just to be sure. I continued on with my to-do list and I was out running errands when Taylor called again, go look on the bathroom counter I said.....there was a pause......then a YAHOOOOOO! followed by a "are you serious?" "no way" I am really glad the yahooooo came first.
We didn't have much time to even talk about it though as our friend took us to the airport then before we knew it we were surrounded by family and lot of Christmas hopla. A few days later the sickness began.... I wasn't expecting this because I wasn't very sick with D. Every few hours I would throw up- all day- all night. It was fairly easy to hid with Taylors family, but not with mine as there is only 1 bathroom and everyone is pretty much in everyone elses business.
I came close to announcing so that I could just lay there and groan covered in Saltine crackers and no one would mind, but we decided to wait until I had seen a doctor and made sure all was well.
I didn't fool my mother though . "I know that you are pregnant" she said. I denied it many times. she was so convinced that she purchased a test- I wanted to tell people when I was ready so I had Taylor take the test(tricky tricky huh)
Its a little bit hard to be excited when you are nauseous, but my first docs appointment made it all feel better when I heard the heartbeat.....just hearing that sound made things real and good.
To baby boy#2: We are excited for you and love you so much already. I started feeling sad that you probably will have mostly hand-me-downs and you will get to share everything with Dawson, but you also get a wonderful big brother- so you will be just fine. I can't wait to hold you- well I can wait until you are ready to be held, but i am excited. Keep growing as you should- love Mom
