fun words

When I told D that it was time to get out of the tub and said bye bye water. He yelled "Oh no! Water, I save you!!"
Then he used his cups to try and keep the water, which didn't work very well so he tried sitting on the drain which worked quite well except for the little drain marks on his tushy. :)

All of the bath toys lined up so nicely.... peace did not last very long in toy land because.......

Lemons to Limeade

I woke up one morning last week to rain :( I had been putting off errands and had to do them and I was not looking forward to doing them in the rain :(

I also discovered that everything in my temperamental fridge was frozen :(

Then I couldn't find my notepad with my shopping list and Menu that I ALWAYS keep in the same spot :(

The day had not started well............but then

While I was running errands there were no creepy hobos on the corners at intersections trying to wipe my windshield because of the pouring rain :) (I know I should have a kinder attitude, but they creep me out a bit)

This Limeade half frozen in my temperamental fridge turned into heavenly slush- mmmmmm :)

And my great hubby had used my notepad to leave me a funny note on the bathroom mirror-

by noon I was smiling.... so bring on the rain!

catching up- baby #2

This post is for journaling purposes, I haven't written any of it down and I don't want to forget.
Possibly a TMI(too much info) warning- but really just a BD (boring details) warning.

Dec. 17, 2009
So the day we were flying out to Utah I was rushing around getting things ready and was feeling a bit different. Smelling strange things, eating strange things- getting carsick- while driving- just feeling a little off. So I began worrying -If I am pregnant I should be eating better and taking vitamins and not eating this lunch meat etc.-
Tay called from school and I told him, he said there is no way you are pregnant, just take a test so you will stop worrying. I also knew the chances were slim to none but I took the test, and went back to my long to-do list the next time I went in the bathroom I remember and glanced at the test.... 2 pink lines- no way! I was a bit shocked, but happy- a bit in denial though because I went and got another test just to be sure. I continued on with my to-do list and I was out running errands when Taylor called again, go look on the bathroom counter I said.....there was a pause......then a YAHOOOOOO! followed by a "are you serious?" "no way" I am really glad the yahooooo came first.
We didn't have much time to even talk about it though as our friend took us to the airport then before we knew it we were surrounded by family and lot of Christmas hopla. A few days later the sickness began.... I wasn't expecting this because I wasn't very sick with D. Every few hours I would throw up- all day- all night. It was fairly easy to hid with Taylors family, but not with mine as there is only 1 bathroom and everyone is pretty much in everyone elses business.
I came close to announcing so that I could just lay there and groan covered in Saltine crackers and no one would mind, but we decided to wait until I had seen a doctor and made sure all was well.
I didn't fool my mother though . "I know that you are pregnant" she said. I denied it many times. she was so convinced that she purchased a test- I wanted to tell people when I was ready so I had Taylor take the test(tricky tricky huh)
Its a little bit hard to be excited when you are nauseous, but my first docs appointment made it all feel better when I heard the heartbeat.....just hearing that sound made things real and good.

To baby boy#2: We are excited for you and love you so much already. I started feeling sad that you probably will have mostly hand-me-downs and you will get to share everything with Dawson, but you also get a wonderful big brother- so you will be just fine. I can't wait to hold you- well I can wait until you are ready to be held, but i am excited. Keep growing as you should- love Mom

IT'S A .......................

BOY!!
We had an ultra sound today- I just love those- and they moved my due date up 15 days. :) It is now August 17 and even though I am only 14 weeks it was very obvious that we are having a boy!
We would have been very happy either way, but this will be a bit easier I think and Taylor says it doubles his chances of having a good football player!

Don't you just love.......

Packages!!
I love getting things in the mail, but I think D loves it even more. It was so fun to watch him open up this Valentine's Day package from Grandma. As soon as it was delivered he ran around it saying "wats dat? wats dat?" Then once we got it open every item that he took out was followed by a "ooooooooo Nummy!"

love at first sight: his very own "melmo!"

I asked him to show me his teeth, hoping to get a smile- not quite a smile, but I'll take it.
Thanks Mom for the goodies! :)

things that make you go....

blaaaaaaaaaaa!

TMI WARNING: this post contains too much personal and gross information
so read at your own risk.

Dawson dipping pickles in strawberry yogurt- blahhhhh!

I have been 10 times more sick this pregnancy. Blogs tend to make life look really pretty, but lets keep it real hear, life isn't always pretty.

Things that have triggered me to vomit in the past 3 months:

  • D dipping pickles in strawberry yogurt and eating it
  • Dawson's diapers
  • Taylor using the bathroom
  • Myself using the bathroom(which is very unfortunate because there is only 1 toilet)
  • smell of dirty dishes
  • smell of day-old milk sippy cups
  • cooking hamburger
  • eating a jalapeno popper wrapped in Bacon then eating chocolate cake(ok I was just asking for it)
  • smell of dirty socks
  • smell of the water coming out of the shower
  • smell of trash
  • smell of the the bayou by our house
  • watching a homeless man spit (threw up while driving- not advisable)
  • sitting up
  • thinking about how bad the people smell on survivor
  • riding in a plane
  • riding in a car
  • D's morning breath
  • washing dirty pots and pans
  • cleaning the toilet
  • cleaning the tub
  • putting on socks
  • standing up
  • wrestling with D
  • jumping on the bed with D
  • laundry
  • eating too much
  • not eating enough
  • the heater coming on

Wow- your really read the whole thing? You need a hobby ;)

I would like to clarify that I still believe that bringing children into this world is a grand privilege- and as always- it could be much worse(Tiffany- I really have no right to complain after what you went through)

I am feeling a bit better- I only threw up once today :) so far

N is for....

Santa brought D some alphabet flashcards which he loves to use (ok so he pretty much just likes to dump them out and spread them around the house) While we were going through the letters, we got to the letter N- you know as in...
N is for nest
N is for neck
New Neckties, nightshirt, nose (Dr. Suess)
But oh no-
N is for Narwhal

Huh? Narwhal!!
While you probably are aware that a Narwhal is a medium-sized toothed whale that lives year-round in the Artic.
I thought it looked like a fish related to Barney that had been struck by a harpoon.

When the kindergarten teacher asks "Does anyone know a word that begins with the letter N?"
Do I really want the kid that raises his hand and replies "Narwhal"
N is for Nerd
