Incredible Halloween

Our little man was Jack-Jack (off Incredibles, if you haven't seen it- you should). Our apartment complex had a little party for the kids then later went to our wards Trunk-or-treat. Dawson wasn't exactly sure what was going on, but he was happy about the suckers that he collected. When we got home he "counted" his treats over and over taking them in and out of the bowl saying "two, two, two, two" I wanted to go as the Elasti-girl and Mr. Incredible- but Taylor wasn't in the mood for wearing spandex, maybe next year :)

words

I am not sure if this counts as complete sentences, but they made me smile this morning. (For baby book documentation)

"All gone, more please"
"ooooooooooo Mama rain!"
"of-ooooo" (love you)

hmmmmmm

"A comfort object is an item used to provide physiological comfort, especially in unusual or unique situations, or at bedtime for small children. Among toddlers, comfort objects may take the form of a blanket, a stuffed animal, or a favorite toy, and may be referred to by the terms blankey and lovey."

I've been waiting for Dawson to get extra attached to a certain toy or blanket, but he really only shows favoritism with anything that is a ball... until this week. I am kinda hoping that it doesn't stick, but he has dragged around a pocket dictionary and Thesaurus all week, he even insisted on napping with them a few times..........hmmmmm.........not the cute fuzzy blanket or stuffed turtle I planned on.

bumps, bumps, bumps

This week was full of bumps and bruises. D was trying to stand on a ball when he face planted into the wall (bump on the right side) then I was washing the crock pot when I was .002 seconds too late in stopping D from pulling the cord of the outerpart of the crock pot right on his head. (bump on the left). We iced and kissed and called the doc. D was laughing and running around about 2 min after the whole ordeal, but then he threw up so the doc said to take him to the ER just to be sure. No concussion. Thank goodness!

I would like to officially apologize to my mother for being a climbing, jumping daredevil and ending up in the Emergency room several times in my childhood. It is no fun for Moms.
With my climbing, diving, active little man I fear there may be more bumps and bruises. bubble wrap and a helmet?

Park fun

I was watching Dawson climb when I heard a very excited little voice say "I gotta go, that baby needs my help!" This "helper" proceeded to carry D up to the slide and push him down, D didn't know if he liked this adopted helper, but he was fine. Then our helper educated me on the proper way to push D in the swing. He cracked me up! Once I was a pro at pushing he said to his buddy "Ok, we can go now, this baby is fine"

Thanks helper, you made my day

D made him self right at home in this kids wagon

I love to see.....

The temple! I went with some of my beautiful young women to the temple to do baptisms. It was a wonderful day, the temple was peaceful and gorgeous as always. The temple president came and gave a powerpacked talk to our youth about freeing souls. It was a great break from life's craziness.

hate

What can live and remain active without food for three months.......
go without air for 45 minutes.............
go without water for a month...........
live after being submerged in water for 30 minutes............
live on the glue from the back on a postage stamp for 5 months...........
resist nuclear radiation 15times the lethal dose for humans............
live without a head for 3 minutes!!!

a freaky science made Super Hero?
A extraterrestrial, nasty villain?

Oh no!

the American cockroach.

Hate is a strong word and I am using it. I hate them.

Oil Ranch

For playgroup we drove out to the country to Oil Ranch! It was a fun, busy, warm day. I wasn't sure if Dawson was old enough to enjoy it, but he loved all the animals and we had a blast.

He would chase around these geese and clap when they would honk

Drumming on an indian drum

I think he is a little small for this tricycle, but he liked climbing on it anyway

Of course his favorite feature on the ranch: STICKS!

Petting Zoo

It was fun to see D get so excited about the animals, he loved to chase around the baby chickens and growl at the pig and of course say "Moo" and "Cocka-oooo" (his 2 favorite animal sounds)

Hay ride

This was the most exciting hay ride I have ever been on. The kids got some "cow treats" and we headed out on the bumpy rode to the cow pasture. As soon as the tractor stopped the cows charged in for their treats putting their heads right through the bars searching vigorously through the little hands for their treats. The little guy next to me (in the orange shirt) got his entire hand up to his elbow munched on my a huge cow. His mother and I were freaking out a bit, but the little guy acted like cows tried to eat him every day.

Potluck buffet

Some of Taylor's classmates got together for a potluck night, games and rock band. It was a lot of fun.

Peter, Minh, Teddy, Taylor and Dawson, oh and the homemade antenna

Our lil fam

View from the loft, check out that buffet, including sushi, muscles and bok choy

Taylor singing his heart out to "Eye of the Tiger" while his buddies backed him up with rock band. Eye of the Tiger isn't exactly a lullaby, but it worked for Dawson
