The wonderful month of December

The wonderful month of December!! We LOVE Christmas time at our house and we tend to stay plenty busy during it too. Here is our great month of December.

We started off with Fiddle recitals at the local rest homes.
I have done this every year since I started teaching 19 years ago.
I enjoy it and it is good for the kids as well as the folks they entertain.

Duncan's class creative arts contest. There was some confusion about the school creative arts contest so his teacher just had one in their class. He drew a picture of his tractor.

Mrs. Stevens invited the parents/families to come see the kid's projects so Clayton and I went.

Our annual gingerbread house...

Our finished product! They were pretty proud of their work.

Another day at basketball practice...

My birthday dinner!
My birthday fell on a Tuesday this year and so I was at work for it.
The boys and their dad brought me my present, dinner and eclairs for my birthday feast!
I'm a lucky mom and had a wonderful birthday:)
Game night at Grandma's house!
The cousins love going to Grandma and Grandpa's house. They also like playing board games with grandma:)
-Lucky to have their Grandma-

This was a quick picture on my phone of the house this year.
Richard is always thinking of something to add or somewhere else to hang lights.
We'll see what he comes up with next year

Out to the grocery store they had a big holiday sale and event with Mr. & Mrs. Claus
The boys of course had to have a picture!

We all went up the canyon and got some family pictures
Here's the whole gang

Santa came to the store!!

He had his list all ready

This one was cleaning corrals with Grandpa for most of the day

We got him to the store just in time to get one last list to Santa.

My Christmas fiddle program
We play at the rest homes and then the week before Christmas we have our recital where I rent the Old Mill building and we have everyone's parents, grandparents and families come for a fun night of music and treats.
My mom & dad always come and help me out:)
My students don't hear me often, but once a year I give in and play at the recital.
I hope there are many more years of playing with my parents, I can't imagine playing with anyone else.
Every year the kids play Silent Night together as a group.
It is fun to listen to and I'm always so proud of each one of them.

The Polar Express!!
All Aboard!
The 2nd grade performed the Polar Express for their Christmas program. It was wonderful-
Duncan had a solo part in the "Hot Chocolate" song and he was so excited. He had been practicing all the songs for weeks leading up the the program and the kids did not disappoint. They all did a wonderful job.

With Grandma

With Grandpa

The Saturday before Christmas we had a Pay family Christmas party. We had dinner at our house and then loaded up the truck and trailer and went caroling and looking at lights around town. When we stopped at the Old Mill Park to let the kids walk through and look at the lights we got a surprise visit from none other than Santa himself!
You've got to love the magic of Christmas
Our tree downstairs
