Here is an update of the last two or three weeks at our house. Starting with the most recent fun, we got a treat this week because my niece came out to Utah for her Spring break from Medical School. She brought some friends and they went skiing and snowboarding during the week and came to Nephi for the week end. Fun to see her and her friends were great guys as well. The little boys had a "hayday" with her as they wanted her to do everything with them and be at her side constantly. They all went fourwheeling on Sat. and we had a big dinner on Sunday before they left.
We also got a chance with the nice weather to set up the trampoline that Duncan got for Christmas. It is finally warm enough to get it out! He was very excited and it got put right to use this week end.
With Spring comes all the spring clean up and getting the gardens ready to plant so we had a burn pile(twigs, weeds, etc.) and ended up roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. Duncan loves to be outside and roasting anything is a good time for him.
We also have to take a ride in the tractor, if it moves at all he must be in it to ride. He loves tractors, the farm and chores feeding the animals. We have definitely cursed the poor kid for life... An expensive hobby with lots of work and time involved- But, Richard and I don't mind it much obviously and I think we both turned out okay... Besides it is a fun way to grow up and there is never a dull moment on the farm...
Speaking of the farm, we now have ducks at our house as well. Greenline is such a great supplier of endless hours of fun at our house..... Actually, I really don't mind them. Duncan has three of them. One of each kind that "Big Al"(a guy at Greenline) got for him. However, he was concerned that Grandpa Phillips needed a duck at his house too so we made a phone call to Grandma and Grandpa while they were in San Francisco to ask Grandpa if he would like a duck. The conversation went something like this, "Hello, Grandpa do you want a duck?" "Well, sure I guess. What kind?" "I will pick one out for you and we can share one too." "Okay, that sounds good. What does your mother say?" "She says good. See ya, bye." Short and to the point I guess... So we have 3 of them. One is named Blacksburg, which is Duncan's, one is named Timmy, which he and Grandpa share, and one is named Peep, which is Grandpa's. Duncan named the first two all by himself and grandpa named his own at Duncan's request. We take them swimming in the Goose's pool each day and Duncan thinks it is great. They will be in the house in thier box for a little while until they get big enough to fend for themselves outside. They are the first thing Duncan goes to every morning to check on and tell them all hello for the day. It is pretty cute. What a character we have. Lots of fun is found in the simple things at our house, that is what makes it great I guess- Enjoy the pictures!

More fun at our house over the past couple of weeks. If I was good at truly "keeping up" some of this would have been posted a couple of weeks ago but.... oh well. We had horse rides, tractor rides, a Jazz game against the Rockets in 12th row seats(the pictures are still on my phone), an overnight stay in the hotel, a wedding and a bounce house. Busy, but fun couple of weeks. Enjoy the pics....

It actually felt like spring two week ends ago and so the boys(Duncan, David and Logan) went for a horse ride on Prince (the pony) and Buster (my horse). Good for the horses and fun for the Dads. I actually hopped on and rode Buster for a few minutes, which was fun and relaxing and since I won't get to do that for quite a while now...

We burned the weeds with Duncan and Brody keeping close watch on the pile- I swear that dog and my child.... (they are further away than they look)

This is the usual scene in our front room. It is Duncan's farm. It covers most of the floor and he will spend all sorts of time playing farm and "loading hay for the animals like Grandpa Phillips does."

We also cut down a tree for Aunt Iris that had fallen in the wonderful wind storm and was on her cable line. The telehandler made quick work of that....

This past week-end Richard's cousin got married in Salt Lake. She asked Duncan to be the ring bearer and so we just got a hotel room and stayed the night when we got done with the rehearsal. Grandpa and Grandma Pay got a room too and so we had a night in the pool to play and swim. Duncan had fun and is literally a fish. He loves the water and had a fun time with Grandpa and Grandma.

Then the big wedding. Richard's nephew and niece and his cousin's little girl were also a part of the wedding. Duncan did a good job considering he stood on the stage with the "big people" as he called them for the entire ceremony. Those of you that know him, that is pretty darn good. He looked cute and so grown up.

The "flower girl"(Richard's cousin's daughter) and the "ring bearer"

All the kids

So grown up...

On the way home we had decided the week before that we would stop and do something fun. We stopped in Sprigville at Jumpin' Jacks, which is basically a bounce house with 6 or 7 different inflatable slides to play on. Long story short, the boys had a good time... Duncan thinks he has the best Dad because his Dad will play on the slides with him. I tend to agree.
