"Hurry Call Jesus!"

Today was a good day.... to start. The kids did great getting up and ready for school. Came home from school happy, played well with friends, we had a nice (leftover) dinner since daddy was coming home late.
We started doing a few chores and getting our things ready for the next school day. Getting clothes set out and making lunches. Renee wanted to help me make lunches so she climbed up onto the counter. I had Jordan on the counter too in a baby seat. She was moving him so she could see him better, and I instantly scolded her to never move him while he is up here because if he fell off the counter he could REALLY get hurt. Well Joe was at the store and was calling to ask me if we needed something, I had to walk behind where Renee was sitting to get my phone. She must of turned to look at me or scooted herself back, well there was No more counter behind her and gravity got the best of her until she met the tile floor. She laid there motionless until I picked her up and then saw the BLOOD. I thought at first, oh man she hit her nose and got another bloody nose until I saw it was coming from the top of her forehead. A huge purple goose egg had formed on her head and was oozing blood. Anyone who has any experience with head wounds knows that they bleed a lot and don't stop very easily. I quickly grabbed a hand towel and ran to the freezer to get some ice, also grabbed Jordan in my 3rd arm and ran to the couch. I tried to lay Jordan down on the baby mat and the ice block hit his face so now Both of them were crying at the top of their lungs. I was worried if I had to get her stitches, but after analyzing it more it looked ok and more of a goose egg than truly "cracking her head open" Boy did that scare the other 2 kids when I said that to Joe on the phone. So Kaylee was sitting next to us on the couch and says to me "MOM, HURRY! WE NEED TO CALL JESUS!!" I said you mean pray to Jesus, she said," oh ya Pray to Jesus, tell him Renee cracked her head open and we need him to make it better!!!"
We did pray and she seems to be better already, asleep in her bed, exhausted from the trauma (hopefully not a concussion!)
It's never a dull moment! 1st Kaylee swallows a penny and now Renee "Cracks her head open"
But it makes you grateful for their precious lives!!

Fresh Air!

I love living out in the "country" and breathing the "fresh air." After spending some time in the desert of Arizona, seeing the lush greenery and fields of corn and beans is quite refreshing. I enjoy sitting on my porch swing and watching the kids ride their bikes up and down the street without too much worry.

On our way to do some school clothes shopping, we have to drive about an hour to get to the next big town that has more shopping stores to choose from, (besides Walmart) and stores we are most used (Old Navy and TJmax).

So on our "adventure".......

Renee said "Eeew! I smell something, who stinks?"
Kaylee said in response right away "It's not a toot... ITS COW POOP!!"

It made us all laugh out loud. :-)

Gone Swimming!

This summer we have done quite a bit of swimming, but unlike in Phoenix we only have a few swimming pool options here. The main one being the hotel right up the road. You can buy a family pass for $40 a month, so we have had one every month this summer. It's super close, which makes it super convenient, and pretty cheap. The 3 "C's" that speak to a mom!
And another convenient factor is that since it is a hotel, they provide towels. Awesome! Another wonderful thing for a mom, I'm not doing loads of beach towels all summer long too.

So this week we have our cousins Kenzie and Drew in town visiting. Kenzie is 9 and Drew is almost 4. the girls frequently want to wear their swim suits instead of clothes, so I didn't really think much about it when Renee asked me to help her put on her swim suit. On with her swim suit and off she went to play with her cousins.

I sat down to feed the baby, and Grandma Joyce had said that the kids were down the street playing and asked if that was OK. This is Nauvoo so we haven't worried about kids being outside by themselves like we do in Phoenix or California (that would NEVER happen in those places) So anyways Joe and I didn't seem to worried about it, our kids know to stay around the area and come home. Well not too long later we get a pounding knock on the door,

BOOM, BOOM, BOOM...
It's our grumpy old neighbor, telling us our girls were all the way down our street crossing the "Highway"

HOLY COW!

Joe jumps on his bike and off he goes to rescue them.
Well when they came home they told us that they were "taking Drew to the hotel to go swimming!"

OH MY GOODNESS!

Can you just picture 3 little 4 yr olds going to the hotel lobby asking to go swimming!
OH BOY, this was one blog worthy story!
