Pumpkin Carving

Last night we carved pumpkins. Well, Rob carved the pumpkins but the kids delegated. And for dinner we got the Papa Murphy's pumpkin pizza. The pepperoni shifted a little but the kids loved it. Tonight is the last night so get them while they are hot. And sweet Jude was sleeping though all of this. We also watched The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown which the kids liked. I like that they are older to do fun stuff like that and start fun traditions. Well, I guess traditions everybody else does. Anyway, Sibley was of course being a typical 2 year old again and didn't want her picture taken. The last one of her looks like she is trying to be scary but she is really screaming. So funny. And the first song Gabe sings in the video is one from school and the peace builders song is like their school motto thing. They build peace. I just thought it was so cute he could say it all. And in the video notice Sibley doing her best to interrupt Gabe. And I tell her stop and then Rob does and she puts her water bottle by her face. Such a diva. Enjoy.

The Park

Today I took the kids to the park. It was so nice outside. The first picture is of a house a couple down from ours and it is hilarious. I wish I could have gotten it all. My favorite part was the man with a chainsaw and it goes off every so often. It is so funny. And then just pictures at the park. There was a dad throwing the ball to his daughter so Gabe joined in. He has never met a stranger! It was nice to get outside and have some fun. I just wish the air quality was better here. Oh and today Gabe said to Sibley when he didn't want to race her, "whoever wins gets an invisible peanut butter and jelly sandwich." She took the bait and ran. He said, "mission accomplished." I just laughed.

Jet Fighters

Today my friend Emily and I took our kids first to McDonald's to eat and play in the playland. It was fun except it was super hot in there and there seemed to be tons of boys which means craziness. One lady came up to me and asked me where I got Sibley's Dunder Mifflin t-shirt. It was funny. Then off to the Aerospace Museum with red faces. The kids had fun and I thought it was neat to see. I remember going to Fairchild Air Force Base near Spokane as a kid because like most little boys my brother wanted to be a pilot. I was bored with the whole thing when I was little. I appreciated it a little more now but not as much as Rob I am sure. Gabe even put on his primary birthday form that when he grows up he wants to be an architect and a jet fighter pilot. Typical little boy. And how cute is the first picture of Sibley and Chandler holding hands. It was a fun day and great shows tonight!

They are here!

It looks like Sibley is choking Jude but she isn't. If you look hard you can see Jude's teeth.

Today my brother's gift to the kids came. Dunder Mifflin shirts!! I love them. In case you are crazy and don't watch The Office that is what they are from. The name of the company is Dunder Mifflin. My present is still in the mail so I am not sure what it is. I am so excited to see. Thanks Pat!!! And the last picture is the kids sporting some of the clothes Grandma sent them from Old Navy. She got Jude the cutest coat which you can see in side bar.

Today...

I was tired from lack of sleep due to Jude's teething.
I was grateful to be able to go back to sleep for 45 minutes.
I was delighted to go to lunch with Rob now that he works in Ogden.
I was happy that a friend stopped by to give me an hour of sanity.
I was relieved that one of gabe's friends played here and occupied my kids.
I was ticked when the woodpecker was pecking at our stucco.
I was grossed out when I saw the woodpecker stare at me.
I was angry when sibley purposely spilled her milk.
I was disappointed in myself for overreacting about the milk.
I was sad when I heard of all the people who had to be evacuated from their homes due to fire.
I was ecstatic when the old navy package came from my mom.
I was brought to tears when my baby Jude smiled at me and I knew how much he loved me.
And my heart melted when I came downstairs and I heard gabe singing, "I'm trying to be like Jesus."
I am grateful to be humbled by my 5 year old and remember what is important in this life.

I don't want to party like it's my birthday, but I really do!

Today was my 30th birthday. I am actually okay with it. I was up feeding Jude this morning at 4:30 and I thought, "well, I am 30 now, no going back." The day was great. Everyone was happy this morning and we had the primary program at church and that was fun. The first picture is of Rob, Jude and I at Timbermine last night. It was so yummy. I had lobster and Rob had steak. It was such a cool place and kid friendly which was nice. I think we heard like 15 birthdays in the time we were there. It must be the place to go. And we were able to leave Sibley and Gabe with Uncle John. Thanks John! And the second picture is of us 5 this morning before church. I love this picture for many reasons. First, my friend Jenny took it and it is off center which is hilarious. Second, I am trying to get Jude to look at the camera and all he wants to do is turn around. And third, Sibley was being 2 and would not smile. And the third picture is the cake platter and slicer that my mom got me. I love it so much. The fourth picture is Rob capturing me dancing while they sing to me. And the last picture is me blowing out the candles and my favorite part is Sibley's hands trying to get my cake! We didn't have many candles so I thought 3 was enough. I would have been totally mocked if I would not have been able to blow out all 30 candles. The cake is from Costco and I am so glad Rob thought to get it because it is my absolute favorite cake! Rob wrote me a really sweet poem and gave me money to shop. Target, here I come!! And my brother made a list of 30 things about me on his myspace and I loved it. It was so sweet. He has more presents coming but I will blog about that later. It was a great day and I have to say I am happy to be 30!! Now we are off for our usual Sunday drive, a perfect way to end a day.

Butter???

This morning I was playing with Sibley and Jude in the family room. I went to check my email and then back to playing with Jude and Sibley was gone. I figured she went upstairs to play in her room. A few minutes later I took Jude to go upstairs and I found Sibley quietly sitting on a table in the living room eating butter. What??? I told Rob and we were reminded of uncle John eating butter as a child. So I have decided this butter eating is a Koch trait. Definitely not a Peringer trait!! And I love Jude. He is so happy and smiling all the time. He is saying ba-ba-ba now and so happy. He is a little harder now that he can climb stairs. But today I am grateful for my baby getting more independent. I don't know why but last night I took food to a family in the ward who just had a baby and I looked at the sweet and cute little baby and was so grateful that wasn't me. I love Judes little personality and independence. And I am already getting some fun gifts for my birthday. Yes, the bit 3-0 is on Sunday. So sad. My mom sent me the cutest cake platter and yummy cookbook. My dad sent me some money so I am getting some new clothes. Whoo-hoo!!! I know Rob has something planned but it is hard since I am nursing so we might just take Jude along. But he is good. Although a girl in my ward has a birthday the day after mine and she is turning 31 and she said 30 isn't so bad but now she has to say she is thirty-something.

Our Weekend

We had such a fun weekend. Friday I made some chocolate cookies from the Martha Stewart magazine with the intent of "spooking" a few families just like Becca. Then on Saturday we were out and when we came home we had 2 packages on our front doorstep! Yippee! One was from my mom and one was from Marianne which we have been waiting 2 weeks for. Don't even get me started on our mail lady. My mom sent me an early birthday gift. It is so cute. I will take a picture and post it. It is a cake platter stand thing and a cute knife with it. It is so cute. I love it. I was envisioning little cupcakes on it. And there were some cute clothes for the kids. Then Marianne got Gabe some temporary tattoos which he loves. His first time with them. I never wanted to let the kids have them because I thought they would get real tattoos someday but then I remembered we used to have candy cigarettes and I never smoked. Remember those things? Anyway, Sibley got a cute purse and a comb and mirror. Perfect. Then Jude got the cutest little ghost hat and socks. Seriously, I am obsessed with that hat. And Rob got a notepad, pens, and another note pad with stuff from the show The Office. It was so cool. And she got me some Halloween cookie cutters and sprinkles. So perfect. So I made some sugar cookies and we "spooked" two families. Then we ate at The Mayan restaurant. It is so cool. They have this big rock wall and they put on a show every half of an hour. They do stuff and then dive into the water. The kids loved it and I forgot my camera in the car. I was so bummed so I will have to take it next time. And I loved Sibley driving Gabe's 4 wheeler. And then my haircut. That picture is funny. I love Gabe's expression. I look silly but you can see my haircut.

My Kids

My kids have been making me so happy lately. The first picture I took this morning before Gabe went to school. He has recently realized he can lift and hold Jude. I am okay with it because Jude is pretty strong now. So Gabe likes to hold Jude in front of him and watch shows. Jude likes it too as you can see from the picture. He is such a spoiled baby with love from his brother and sister. And the second picture is not the best smile from Sibley but I had to show you what she picked out today. So funny. We went to target like this and everyone kept smiling at her. And the last picture I took yesterday when Gabe was at a friends house and Jude and Sibley were playing. He was standing on one side of the coffee table and Sibley on the other side and she would make a raspberry sound and then he would giggle so hard. I got it on our video camera and it was so cute. I don't think he has ever laughed that hard for that long. He is getting really fast at crawling and climbing up on the stairs and tables. Poor little guy falls every now and again and bonks his head. But he is so sweet. One of my friends came and picked up Gabe because she has a little boy and took him to their house. Gabe was there for 3 hours. Nice. There are lots of boys Gabe's age by their house so they would go from house to house and play. It was great I got to clean the house and relax. Well, I better go and watch Grey's online before Gabe gets home. By the way isn't the office like the best show ever. This is my favorite quote, "Cornell, every heard of it?" And is so funny!! And who didn't love is little song to Angella. I kept singing, "Take a chance take a chance take a take a take a chance all night."

Jude

Just a few pictures of the kids at home today. Jude is starting to clap now and it is so cute. We are just hanging out about to go and get Gabe from school. Oh, this is funny. A few weeks ago we were walking to the car because yes, Gabe's school is the only one in the nation without a drop off area. Don't even get me started on that. Anyway, two girls said, "bye Gabe." It was so cute. He totally could care less about the girls. And I am glad about that. He is all about hanging with the boys. And then the other day we were leaving school and this other little girl said, "bye, gabe." And then get this she tickled his neck. I was laughing and horrified all at the same time. Her grandma pulled her away. Gabe didn't care. It was so funny to me. I don't even want to think about Sibley being in kindergarten. Otherwise things are going well for us. I got to talk to a friend I have had my whole life last night and that was fun. We have lots of stories to tell from our youth. Especially stories of me driving the family minivan in high school. So that is about all. I am still feeling a little sick and I bought some airborne and I am hoping that will get rid of this cold for good.

Sibley-isms

I have thought about doing this post for a while because Sibley has so many funny terms so I am going to write them down. I wanted to show you this video because all of a sudden she started saying, "hey, boy." And it is so cute. Another thing you will notice is when we sing songs she will bob her head up and down. Here is the list.

Blah = Ice cream (because that is what she does when she licks it.)

Night-night ho = going to sleep. Not sure why the ho.

Woo-hoo = anything pretty or girly. Or her twiriling around.

B = Gabe

Milky = milk. She is putting the "e" sound on the end of words.

Nummy = spraying the whipped cream into her mouth.

Hiya = hitting.

Booty = Bum.

Dipy = Dip. Ketchup, fry sauce, she loves dip!

Noddy choo-choo = anything big that moves. A train, a truck. She got it from the show Make Way For Noddy.

Wee = Slide.

And my favorite. I wuv you.

One time she was being horrible and I told her I was going to spank her bum if she didn't stop. Which of course I didn't spank her but she said. "No mom, hiya booty." It was so funny. And she kept following me around the house before church on Sunday pointing at my high heels saying, "mama, pretty woo-hoo's." She is very girly that is for sure.

In other news I am feeling better but now it feels like I am catching a cold. Ugh. Also, we got a desktop because my laptop died. Rob had the genius idea to put it in the laundry room. I was skeptical but it is perfect. There is a big desk in there so it works great.

Sicky sick

I woke up yesterday morning thinking I was just tired until I went into the bathroom and got sick. Ugh! I hate being sick although it is better than having the kids sick. The kids were all great yesterday. Gabe and Sibley entertained themselves with help from the Disney channel. Jude slept a lot and was really good and happy. I was able to lay in bed most of the day. I watched The Family Stone on On demand and Rob and I watched a couple of years ago and I love that movie. Rob got home at 4 and took over. Can I just say that my husband rocks. He would have normally taken the day off but he took a day off last week because I was so tired when Jude wasn't sleeping well at night. I basically was in bed the rest of the night. Rob got all three kids to bed and I slept horribly until about 2:30 when I got out of bed and had a bowl of cereal and some 7up. I felt great and I slept well the rest of the night. I am still tired today but feel tons better. And I love my haircut. I will post pictures soon.
