Run for Fun

Last year at this time we did our 1st family 5k race. This year we decided to do the race again at Annie's preschool with a few changes.

Eric pushed Megan and Cameron in the 5k run.

and Annie and I ran the 1 mile race together.

I was so impressed with Annie, she ran most of the time and finished a mile in just under 13 minutes. Way to go girl!:)

I LOVE THESE KIDS!!!!

Whipple Park Walkers 2009

We have continued to walk all of the time that we have lived here in Whipple Park which has almost been 4 years. We love walking and look forward to our walk each day. It makes it extra fun to have a group to go with and this is definately the biggest the group has ever been. There are 9 moms and 15 kids in the picture and there were a couple that were missing. Not every one goes everyday and there a few that are moving that will be missed, but this is quite the sight.

For the record, I am 28 weeks pregnant in the picture and so that is the reason I look extra thick through the middle. I love walking everyday and hope to make it to the end of this pregnancy going strong!:)

Father/Son Campout

Eric and Cameron enjoyed another fun father/son campout this year on May 8th and 9th. It was in Palmyra at the Hill Cumorah, not too many other father and sons can say that. Cameron has been talking about the campout for a very long time and was very excited to go hang out with dad.

While the boys were gone the girls played. Annie decided that she would plan our girls night. We played outside with our friends Tina and Ellie for a while. When we came in we played, Don't Eat Pete and Snorta which are two of my favorite games. After laughing and playing games we got ready for bed and read stories on Annie's bed. Then it was off to bed for Megan and Annie and I had my own girls night. It was fun to host another girls night this year while our husbands were gone. About 10 of my friends came over and we had treats and visited for a couple of hours. Just what we all needed!:) Thanks girls!

VISITORS

WE LOVE HAVING VISITORS! On May 5th, my brother Greg, his wife Gwen, and their oldest daugther Lydia came to visit us. They came all the way from IDAHO!:) They were here for a short time, but we managed to squeeze a lot in and have a great time.
On Wednesday, May 6th, we spent the day in Palmyra and Fayette seeing all of the church history sites and of course making a stop at the Chill n' Grill for ice cream. It was a great day and Annie, Cameron, and Lydia became great friends.

TWO cute cousins

On Thursday we went to the Strong National Musuem of Play. The kids had a great time playing everything. That night we had a Thai dinner before heading up to Lake Ontario which is just 20 minutes north of where we live. We walked out on the pier to the light house and enjoyed showing how "GREAT" one the great lakes is.
On Friday morning we walked up to Eric's school to show Greg and Gwen where Eric goes to school and to let him explain a little bit about what he does. I don't know if it helped, but it was fun!
GREG, GWEN, and LYDIA we had a great time with you and are so glad that you came. Now we are anticipating our next visitors in a couple of weeks!:)

1st BBQ

On Saturday we had our 1st official BBQ with our friends the Stewarts. Eric dusted off the grill from the long winter, fired up the coals and cooked us some hamburgers and hotdogs. Pretty fancy! Then after dinner we roasted marshmellows over the hot coals for s'mores. It was a great night. I love BBQ season and great friends.

Annie had a hard time keeping her wind blown hair off of her marshmellowy face. She definately won the award for being the messiest!

The Circus

On Friday, May 1st, we got to go to the Ringling Bros. and Barum & Bailey Circus. The greatest show on earth! Annie and Cameron were excited all week for Friday to come. We had pizza before with our friends the Christensens and Rogers and then headed off to the circus with them. There was a preshow were you could see different acts. Our kids loved Kelly the Elephant because she painted a picture. The acual show started at 7:30pm. We got to see clowns, tigers, elephants, motorcycles in a ball cage, high trapeze acrobats, horses, and much more. Everyone had a great time, but we were all tired by the end. We are very glad that we went!:)

Annie really wanted a clown nose, but we didn't see them. Luckily our friend Lisa had one and let Annie try it on.

Cameron could look at the camera because there were too many other things to see.

SPLASH WEEK

During spring break the YMCA offers free swimming lessons Monday through Friday (April 20-24th). Annie and Cameron were both in the 3-5 year old class and each had one on one swim lessons. Megan was in the parent/child class and loved it.
On Friday it was family swim. It was fun to all be in the water together.

Cameron hasn't had much water experience and was kind of nervous, but each day warmed up and did great. By the last day he was swimming by himself with a bubble and another floatie.

Annie gets to swim every Tuesday at her preschool and so she was pretty comfortable as long as she had her noodle. She would swim all around the pool.

Megan loved the water. She liked kicking, splashing, and even attempted to blow bubbles. She would laugh and scream with excitement.
