Birthday Prep

December 2-
Always a lot of prep work before a party and I'm so lucky to have 2 expert cupcake makers at my beck and call!!!  They even decorate, but I had to do most of them to keep with the zoo theme for the party!

And, what better way to prep for your big day than getting your nails done!  We had so much fun.  They filed them and then painted them while she sat on my lap still as a statue just watching with her fingers spread.  So fun! And Kingston wanted in on the fun so he got his first ever pedicure (shhh, don't tell daddy)!  He loved it; and he chose blue and orange for his toes!

Shopping with Kids

November 26-
Thank goodness for online shopping because after our night, I'm completely exhausted.  Our original plan was to just run to target and look for a b-day gift for Julienna, but then that changed into going to a few more stores at the Village....including Toys R' Us.  We had a long talk in the car about just looking at toys to put on Kingston's Christmas list and that we were NOT going to be buying anything, except Julienna's birthday gift.
First stop was Gordmans and we were there way to long....looking at everything....twice!  But I was able to sneak away and buy some presents for the kids and then we all got new water bottles.
Next stop was Toys R' Us.  Jonathan wanted to check out one other store before meeting us so I braved the toy store myself.  I will say that the kids were amazing, we just had some unfortunate circumstances.  Of course we look at Kingston's toys first and before too long, he has to go to the bathroom.  Luckily he can do most of it himself so I can make sure Julienna doesn't touch anything.
Then, it was Julienna's birthday so we got a crown and balloon.
More pictures of stuff for Kingston and then we contemplate what present to get Brylee and Zayden.  We pick something out and then change our minds and then find something else.  I was holding Julienna and the balloon and the gifts and then my tummy got really warm.  Yup, Julienna peed through her diaper!  I did have one spare in my purse but she had gotten her pants wet and kept pointing and saying "wet wet".  So, I drug Kingston to the clothes section and we picked Julienna out  a new pair of pants.  They chose the brightest pink ones!  Then we had to checkout, before heading back to the bathroom to change into our new attire.  Phew, we were good to go back shopping.  This time we looked at girl stuff for Julienna and Kingston got tired of that pretty quickly. So, back to his side.  At this point it had been over an hour and Julienna is hungry so I dig through my purse and find the emergency snacks.  Then, I smell something....and it's Julienna...and I'm out of diapers.  I frantically text Jonathan to "hurry".  As soon as I see him I rush out to the car for diapers and wipes. By the time I get back to change Julienna, it has somehow squished out and onto her coat. So I change her and toss her coat in my purse.  Jonathan is looking at everything and by this point, I'm done!  So I rush the boys along.  And we decided that it's pretty cruel to make Kingston just "look" at toys for 2 hours, so we let him pick out a Star Wars Figure and then we finally make it out!!
It was an adventure and we came out with birthday and Christmas gifts so I guess that makes it a success!

Decorating the tree

November 25-
Oh, this Christmas thing is getting much easier with my little helpers.  They needed a little help getting the tree up, but otherwise they did all the decorating.  I only had to help glue ornaments back together that they dropped and clean up all the boxes.  The ornaments are strategically placed by Kingston and he only put up a minimal selection of my dog ornaments, but it is perfect!!!  Even Julienna added a few of her necklaces to the tree.  It was kind of a relief to not have to decorate it, so hopefully it's the start of a new tradition.  And I got the stockings hung and the garland on the banister! **they chose their own outfits**

Thanksgiving

November 24-
We packed a lot into our Thanksgiving day!  It started early with the Turkey Trot.
It was chilly but luckily no wind.  Kingston ran the first mile with Joel and Lindsay and then caught a ride for the next couple.
Julienna was a bit more challenging as she only wanted to be held.  So grandpa pushed the empty stroller and grandma and I switched back and forth with her.
After that, we headed to moms house for lunch.  She did everything and it was delicious!  We were even able to celebrate Jonathan's birthday finally.
I worked on my fruit turkey before we headed to Trish's house for the final round of eating.
We ate, played games, and just hung out.

McCall 24

November 11-13
Another cabin weekend. We are all starting to get a little sick so we just laid low.  But we were getting a bit stir crazy so we had to get out for a little walk.

Cast off

November 7-
I don't know who was more excited for today, Kingston or us!  But regardless, we were ready to get that cast off.  They cut the cast off with a vibrating saw machine and then cut off the bandages. The area around the pin was a bit infected so we were sent home with some antibiotics.

He got more x-rays, which he can position himself now! They looked great with lots of new bone growth and healing.

And then the worst part was pulling out the pin.  It was pretty loose on it's own already, but I think the infection made it more tender.  A few tears were shed and then a little bandaid over the hole.  He has to wear a brace for the next 3 weeks and then he will be good as new!  Phew, we are ready to be done with this whole ordeal!  And Kingston said it felt nice to stretch out his arm...I was just ready to wash it finally!!
