No More Mine...

{May 10, 2012}

Payton has been such a good little guys from day one.  He is a very easy going child with a great personality. He has been dragged around pretty close from day one.  One thing I think helped was how much he loved his "mine".  (Once he started talking that is what he called it...)

I learned with my other two boys that holding onto the "mine" for such a long time is because it is easier on the parents!  We had tried a couple of times to take his "mine" away, but then he would get sick or he would find one, so we would just give in and let him have it back.  Well on the 10th of May Carson and I were busy trying to get ready for our little vacation right before bed.  One minute he had his "mine" and the next it was gone.  We couldn't find it anywhere and it was too late to go to the store to buy him a new one.  I thought this is not the best time 1-it is right before bed and it could make for a long night, 2-we weren't going to be sleeping at home the next couple of nights, which could also be a long night, 3-he was going to be dragged to at least 7 ball games in the next two days and his "mine" would be a great way to keep him happy and being able to take a nap easily.  So to say the least I was a little disappointed going to bed that night without his mine.

Well needless to say from that moment forward he never wondered where it was.  We were around a little guy who had a "mine" just like his and he never even asked for his.  I had a quick mourning moment because it seemed to be apart of him so much.  I was also worried that I hadn't taken enough pictures of him to remember how much he loved it.  Well going through his pictures I have found plenty to remember our little Roo with his "mine"...

We always thought how funny it was that he could put most of it into his mouth

It was a great way to soothe him when he got hurt

He was really good to hide them in many places....

Sometimes he would remember where he put them and others they would go missing for along time, well until we opened that magical drawer or pocket to find them.

It was a serious lifesaver while he was being dragged around to all of his siblings activities

Once his "mine" was all gone he seemed so much bigger and he talked so much more.  Have I mentioned what a sweet baby he is?!!

Wolf Creek

{April 27-30}

Grandma and Grandpa Simmons had their weekend at Wolf Creek all planned, but with everything that happened with Janet they could no longer go.  I was so grateful that it worked out that we could go up there and stay (I wish I would have taken more photos).  We had such a wonderful time, we ended up having the Giles' come up with us, we really just had a wonderful time!

We enjoyed the hot tub....

Playing racquetball, or at least trying...

We even made grocery shopping fun....

Our room was right by the golf course.  Sunday in the afternoon we decided to play a game of kickball.  We ended up doing family vs family.  Oh my heck I don't think any of us had laughed that hard in a long time!  All I can say is I'm sure glad Carson really didn't hurt is ankle and knee!!

Our last night up there was just our little family.  We played so hard, that we were wiped out!

We had such a beautiful view for the weekend, it was so peaceful...

The bad part was having our van towed out of the canyon because our dumb key broke!

Our Payter has the funniest personality.  He is always making us giggled, no matter where we are or what we are doing:)!

Janet's Passing....

{April 2012}

It was such a sad day when I got the phone call that my cousin had passed away.  I was so sad hearing about Janet, she is one of the sweetest, happiest people that I know.  It came by quite a shock and still breaks my heart thinking about her gone and her poor children and grandchildren that don't get to see your happy smiling face anymore.

How grateful I am that we had my Grandpa's big party that she came too, so that I could see her one more time and I can always remember her sweet smile!

Iphone Photos

Here are some more photos off of my phone.  Man I love having instagram, it is so easy to capture everyday life!

Our Lil' Baseball player being a catcher.

This kid loves all of his friends at the stores we go to!

Alec and his buddy Jhett.  At times these two are two peas in a pod!

Being two is rough and so tiring at times!

Say Cheese....

Easter

Easter this year was very laid back.  The day before Easter we did the annual Easter egg hunt in town.  The kids got way to much candy!  That night we had fun coloring eggs.  This is Payton's first year doing it by himself, so he really got into it!

I believe Marcus was having fun, he was just ticked about something right now!:)

 Yes the kids had way to much fun coloring their hands as well as their egg. And yes, we did get their hands back to normal color!

The Easter bunny was so thoughtful to help us out with trying to get everything we need to go camping!  We all got new sleeping bags and marshmallows sticks!
On Easter Sunday after church we all meet up at my parents house to eat and have Easter egg hunts.  The kids always have so much fun hanging out with their cousins...

Easter Photos 2012

It was time for our Easter photos with the live baby chicks and bunnies.  Quite quickly I think Payton got PTSD from last years photos (see my header photo at the top) because he wasn't a happy camper from the start.  The nice thing with these pictures is they are inexpensive because it is hard enough trying to get four kids to be cooperative, let alone adding in all these live animals!

 Payton was done with all this nonsense!

 Okay will you go back for more photos if you can have another sucker?!

Love these cute kiddos of mine.  I love doing this each year because I love to see their reactions throughout all of the photos!

Roo on the Iphone

I always think it is so funny at the end of the day to look at my phones photos and see all of the many, many photos Payton has taken that day!

Olivia Dancing Round 1....

{March 2012}

When Va-Dels was asked to do a few performances for the Hi-Stepper spring show, Debbie and Krisanne decided to get a few kids from the Kindergarten class to be one of the numbers.

Olivia had such a wonderful time.  She did a great job, it is always so fun to watch her.  She truly enjoys it so much, you can tell in her smile and how well she picks up on the dances.

Emma, Kendall, Olivia, and Ally

These four little girls are darling!  Man time is flying by way to fast, in not to long they will be able to choose if they want to be a Hi-Stepper or a Cheerleader....
