Our Big "3" Year old Alec Mason

Here is our fun and crazy guy Alec. I'm telling you time is really going by fast. I can't believe that Alec is 3 and going to be starting preschool. I remember when he was just a little guy. The one good thing about him getting older is the whining is slowing down! He loves Captain Jack, Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles, Spider Man- pretty much anything that puts you into character/imagination mode. Sometimes I think that he is thinking he really can throw webs!

Princess Olivia's 9 months photos

Aren't these pictures so cute! The ladies had so much fun with little miss personality! She is getting so big, I can't believe that we are getting so close to 1 year old!

A Change in Routine....

So the last two days my sister, my kids, and myself went down to my Grandma's to stay and visit with her. We had a great time, the kids loved doing jobs for my grandma. As Marcus was pushing her old fashioned lawn mower he was saying, "Grandma, how much change do I get for doing this." Luckily she couldn't hear him, so I was trying to explain to him he was doing it for service. I think it was hard for him to get why some jobs he gets money for and some jobs are service?! The kids did a really good job behaving well, since I was a single mom for a couple of days. But I think that I have really made Molly not want to have children!

I do have to say it was nice getting a way and changing our routine, but I do have to say we missed Carson "our big daddy". Knowing that he got to sleep in the center of our king size bed all by himself I think made me a little envious for the night. I do have to say the excitement that all the kids had to see him was a wonderful sight though. By being gone for only that short time you realize how much you love your house, how grateful you are for a husband that helps a lot, and that you don't have to live out of a suit case!!

I love to hear all the funny things that my kids say and sometimes it is not what they say, but just watching their little minds turning while you are wondering exactly what they are thinking. When we got home I was going through some clothes that my sister Jaime passed back to me (that is the nice thing with Jaime and I having boys together, just a year apart) I found some spider man pj's in the bag. Alec is the biggest spider man fan so he put them on in a hurry. Carson said to him, I wished I had some spider man pj's and Alec replied, "when you get little you can have them." Do you think Alec really thinks his daddy is going to get little again?! Kids they truly say the darnedest things!!!

Alec Mason

So today the boys went to the dentist, thank goodness they have no cavities! We did find out some upsetting (I need to not be upset about this I do realize) news about Alec though. This time was Alec's first x-rays and so they were able to tell that Alec does not have two permanent teeth (the ones next to the two top ones). I know that there is a enough things these days that can fix it, but they won't be his real teeth! It all depends what happens with his two front teeth. If his front teeth come in and don't push out the two next to it then more then likely they well not fall out and through time they can build his baby teeth to look like big boy teeth or after he is eighteen they can put in new teeth. If they end up falling out before he is eighteen then they will put teeth on a retainer type thing and that will be is his teeth until he is older. I know it will be okay, I think it was just a shock to me so hopefully once it settles in I won't be upset about it. I know that I sound worldly, but it was just something I never thought it would happen to my child. I guess the thing that I am realizing through today is each family, each child has their own set of trials. Let us just hope that he does get my crooked teeth and Carson's unhealthy teeth on top of his teeth problems! And I am very grateful he will still have his smile that can light up a room with happiness!!!!

Our little Alec is quite the little guy. His little voice is so cute. The way he says yellow is so dang cute. If I could I would make our whole world yellow so we could here it all day long! This afternoon Olivia was playing with a white feather and he said, "Mom Olivia pulled out Hudson (our white dog) tails!" He is such a kid!

Marcus is quite the kid!

So I do realize I have just updated my blog a lot, but I have the funniest story. I think us moms also can agree that we talk about our kids way to much, but when that is your life what else do you talk about!
So last night Marcus asked Carson and I where babies come from. Carson told him that they grow in moms belly. I told him it starts out kind of like a seed and then grows from there into little babies. He then asked, "You mean there is human seeds out there, do you buy them from the store?" Carson and I looked at each other and Carson says, ya you buy them. I thought for a second I don't want to screw this kid up thinking you buy seeds at the store to make a baby, but I also didnt' want to ruin him with the truth, so I hurried and added Heavenly Father plants the seeds in my belly.

We were way thrown off by that one, but hopefully we gave a good answer! What a kid!!

Our little "Mini Queen"

So late Friday night after Carson and my mom and Molly had already had plans for Saturday AM I decided to enter Olivia into the Hawaiian Tropic baby contest. Not really being to prepared because I didn't think it was that big of a deal (that is why Carson, my mom , and Molly didn't change plans to go) we headed over to Logan. My judgement was a little off. Some of those moms were the biggest stage moms ever, and those dresses, wow! It was supposed to be Sunday best attire, but I didn't want her to be to dressed up to much (I don't know how these things work) so she was just in a little sun dress thing. She ended up winning Mini Queen! In each division there is queen/king, mini queen/mini king, and then attendants, we thought she did great! I know it is kind of silly, but I also think it is kind of fun. In May she gets to go down to the Tri-State finals, so I will have to keep you updated (in eight months)!! When we got home Carson said, "Does this mean we need to go buy a new frilly dress Princess." I looked at him like duh?! On my way over to Logan I decided that I might need help with someone sitting with the boys while I went up on stage with Olivia, so my brother Ryan was nice enough to crawl out of bed (at 11 am) to come, what a nice uncle Ry!

Parade, Fair, and Rodeo

This year was lots of fun! We were just thankful Marcus didn't have on his cast this year. I told Marcus last year two days before the parade you got your cast on, this year two days before the parade you went bald. Next year lets not do something dramatic two days before the parade! I think he agrees! Olivia was a trooper regardless of what happened to her, but on Friday when we went with friends we left her with nana and papa so she didn't have to be dragged around for four nights. Wednesday after the parade we went out to the fair with nana, papa, and Aunt Molly. We had lots of fun. We went and checked on our photos that my mom and I entered, we both placed! On Thursday we went with Grandpa and Grandma Callister, Uncle Pickle (Nicklaus) and Aunt Nicole- we also had lots of fun. Nicole and I had a dramatic experience, but I won't talk about it again, even though the nightmares are still there! Friday we were able to go play with friends. Marcus and Alec had so much fun with Summer (Reggie and Brittney Anger's) and Ty (Josh and Trisha Judkins). They thought for a minute that they were 15! They would get off one ride and take off running to the next, kind of like they owned the place! The last night we had a Allen family party and after that we went to the Rodeo with nana and papa. Carson started to get allergies and he couldn't stop sneezing so he made it until half way through the national anthem. Marcus' most favorite thing is watching this guy (who is a little heavier set) drive the tractor (before the rodeo starts). As he is driving the tractor he starts dancing and last year he ripped his pants off and had funny shorts on. He couldn't stop talking about it all year, so it was something he looked forward to seeing. This year he ripped is clothes off and had a Superman costume on and started running around. So I can't wait to see what he says during the next year about that one! Good Times!!! Enjoy the photo show!

Olivia's Precious Chubby Little Fingers

Wednesday before the County Parade was supposed to start I was folding clothes in one room when the two little ones where playing in another. All of the sudden Olivia did the loudest death cry ever. When I went to pick her up I noticed her pointer finger was bright white with no blood/circulation going through it. Luckily Molly was over at my house because I just grabbed the keys and ran out the door to my moms. When I go there she still didn't have any color to her finger and I had a minute to calm down and notice that her other fingers (not the thumb) were swelling and had cut marks on them, so I came to the conclusion that they were slammed in a door. My mom and I quickly learned that the Dr. were at lunch and regardless of how loud your child is crying if the Dr.'s are in the building but eating their lunch they don't come to help until their lunch is over! While waiting color started to come back into her finger, but she was not letting up on the cry at all, it was heart breaking. After waiting twenty minutes they took us back and got an x-ray on her fingers. They were not broken the tissue was just swelling quickly. So they put a splint on her hand that she had to wear for a couple of days. After the radiologist read the x-ray he said that we would have to come back this week to get it re x-rayed once the swelling goes down to make sure there wasn't a fracture. Her splint is off now. I think her fingers are fine, but I guess we will make sure later on this week.

WARNING: Over 20 Don't Ride!!!!!

The Zipper

I won't go into to much detail about my experience at the fair because I am pasting my sister-in-laws story for you all to read. She just left out the part of every other second I was saying sh** or oh my h***!!! An experience that I will never forget!

(This is the start of my sister-in-law Nicole's story)
Nicklaus & I met up with his parents and his brother and his family to eat carnival treats and go on a couple of rides around 7pm last night. My sister-in-law Courtney asked me to go on The Zipper with her and of course I said yes. I ain't no wussy. (I have included a picture of the notorious carnival ride in case you didn't have a clue.) Well, we had to wait 10-15 minutes before we could get on because it was being maintained. I became a little nervous at the thought of riding it since they were required to "fix it," as the ride operator said. Eventually I sucked it up and jumped in our rotation cage with Court. (Oh my gosh, I'm feeling lightheaded just thinking about our experience. However it could be the side-effects of the energy drink my brother-in-law just let me try. I think I'm going to barf.) Immediately the ride started and at first it was really fun! Then it started becoming frightening. The force at which you are hewn towards the ground is not at all exhilarating(Courtney's thought on this-there is only a pin holding the door shut!). It's terrifying. My head felt like it was going to explode. Oh wait. That was Courtney's cell phone that flew out of nowhere and smacked me in the face(Courtney's thought- last time I went on the ride cell phones weren't invented to know it could fly out of my pocket!). While we were being thrown around, the cell phone was following suit. Eventually I grabbed it and held on for dear life. The ride seemed to go on forever!!! Yes I screamed like a girl and when it stopped I was more than relieved. I felt like one of those bawling yet estatic little kids in nursery who is reunited with their parent(s) after 2 hours of no mommy or daddy.
No.
The ride started going backwards. The sound of our cage turning was loud and...LOUD so I thought we were going to fly off the hinges. (More "screaming" and "no-no-ing") After what seemed like 5 minutes, the ride stopped. We got off, and literally staggered to our family. To my surprise, my throat was dry due to continual screaming. I don't know about Court, but I literally felt so accomplished for surviving that damn ride. I realized that my body is older (my arms are sore today from supporting myself, and I do push-ups everyday!)(Courtney's thought-after 2 c-sections and no stomach muscles my stomach muscles hurt!) and that I should probably weigh the pros and cons before I get on a ride like that again.

I don't remember getting off the ride and filling like and just spun around 100 times when I was younger, but being old you fill crazy when you get off, it was the craziest thing. I second Nicole that you really have to way the pros and cons on going on a ride like that again. Oh wait they have been weighed, I am a mother and mothers need to just watch not try to bring back the good old teeange years!!!
Have a good day!

Thank Heavens it is Wednesday!

I can't even tell you how glad this week is all ready to Wednesday. It has been one of those weeks that it either needs to end soon or I need to go crawl in a hole. Yesterday by nine in the morning Alec had spilled red juice on our new couch and carpet, Olivia is getting her first tooth and is very upset by it, and Marcus has no hair!!! Today is the county parade and the first day of the fair. Let's think positive and because we are going to have lots of fun the rest of the week everyone will be nice and listen well and let's not think negative that everyone is going to add to their non listening skills and be really cranky because we will be going and going the rest of the week! I guess all together I can look on the positive side off life and be grateful I have three children and a husband that comes home to play with the kids to relieve me from stress of the day! Have a wonderful rest of the week!!

Saying Goodbye to Good Friends

While we lived in the apartments we made great friends! One of the families we met were from Minnesota living here for 18 months while Tony (the dad) worked at Malt-o Meal. They are such a great family with wonderful kids. My kids had so much fun playing with them all of the time. Tonight we had to say goodbye because they are moving back tomorrow. So us and a couple of families from the good old apartments got together at the park to play and say goodbye. It will be sad to see them go, but we wish them the best and we want to thank them for leaving such wonderful memories in our minds and hearts! We love you guys

I Needed A New Style

Marcus decided he needed a new style so he took Carson's razor and started to shave his head, so Carson had to shave the rest off. Sometimes I'm not sure what that kid thinks, but I guess it is hair and it will grow back (tears are still coming out of both of us-me and Marcus)!

Talking in Church

Today Carson and I finally had to talk in Church. I thought after being in this ward for over a year that we had made it free from being "the new people" and having to talk. I guess they figure we are here to stay since we just bought our house so they now asked us to talk. It was Following the Prophet. I feel that is subject I can talk on and sound like I know what I'm talking about a little bit. Carson did a fabulous job. I told him he shouldn't have done such a good job because now they will want to give him a big calling!! That is the first sacrament meeting that Carson and I have sat without kids in almost five years. Very peaceful!!!
Have a good day!!!

High School Musical 2

We had a High School Musical 2 Party. The kids had so much fun. Do you like the T-Shirts that I made? The boys thought it was great. We had cake, banana splits, hot dogs, oh don't forget the popcorn! Olivia thought the music was fun, she kept dancing.

Molly taking cute pictures of the kids

These are some cute pictures that I got off my sister Molly's camera. I can hardley believe that my baby sister has graduated from High School. Have you ever seen a cuter/funnier smile then Alec? The bottom picture is of the two cute princesses of our family Abigail and Olivia!

Thursday, August 9, 2007

I just had to tell you a funny thing Marcus said today. He was itching his leg from a mosquito bite when all the sudden he threw his arms up in the air looked up and said, "Please Jesus, don't let mosquito's come to our town anymore." What a kid.
I guess it is good to have funny moments like that because at the same time he has almost became for sale a couple of times today, ha ha!!
So You Think You Can Dance Fan Club!!

So after reading so many people blogs I have realized I am not the only So you think you can dance fan! Before watching last night my vote was for Lacey, I thought so would win for sure. But after last night I am not to sure. What is everyone else thinking?

Pirate Dress Up

Day At Preschool

This was the last day of the boys' summer preschool classes. They were very excited to be Captain Jack, don't they look good! About 4 weeks to go and both boys will be in preschool! What will I do with only one child at home (which is her nap time)?
