Olivia's 2 Year Old Photos....

Yes I know that Olivia has been two for awhile and that I have taken her to the Doctor and have gotten her 2 year old photos taken a long time ago, but I am now just getting to posting it. So here it goes.....
Once again I had Nicole take Olivia's pictures. They turned out so great, I love them! It is so hard to choose which one is my favorite one.

Olivia's 2 Year Old Stats...

Weight: 25lb 6 oz. 33%

Height: 33 inches

I wonder where to even begin? I should have done this along time ago so I could remember more of what she was doing right at two, so since I didn't I will just write what she has been doing.

She has always been a talker, now up until the age of 2 for the most part it was her own language, but since she has turned two her vocabulary has gone crazy. We often are always looking at each other like did she really say that and how does she know to say those words. She asks a lot of why's, you can tell she is always thinking about what is going on around her. She loves her brothers so much. She called them Buba's up until about a month ago and now for the most part it is Martus and Aledik. When asking where the boys are in the morning she will say they are at tool (school). She loves when their friends come over to play and if they are girls then that is just an added bonus! She is a great helper, but sometimes it is more help then I need. She loves her babies so much, she honestly is quite the little mother too them. She bounces them, she covers them with a blanket and then holds them to put them to sleep. At times when we are running errands around town she brings her baby car seat with one of her babies. She will put them to bed, shut her bedroom door, and then let us know we need to be quiet because the babies are weeping! She loves to know everything that is going on around her, she is always questioning what I am talking about whether I am on the phone, talking to Carson, or talking to the boys. One day she had her play phone up to her ear say, "Yes Ricia (Tricia)." I guess that is a sign I talk to Tricia too much!!! She loves singing, loves it, loves it, loves it!!!! She will open up a story book lead the music and sing her little heart out. In the car when Marcus turns on his "cool" music she tries to sing along with the boys and she also loves singing to her new Barbie Diamond Castle movie she got for Valentines. If the boys take off their shirts to wrestle then she is also taking her shirt off to wrestle with them. She loves to walk around with my lips (lip gloss) and put it on all day. One day she had three of them while counting 2, 3, 4, 3! The biggest problem is we run at of the clear quickly so a lot of time there is some sort of color put so beautiful across her lower part of her face. She hates having her hands dirty so I will often hear her walk into a bathroom, turn on the tub water, and then come out to tell me she washed her hands! When her daddy comes home from work she will give him a big hug and say, "daddy I wish you (I miss you)!" She loves her daddy, but at this point I think it is pretty safe to say she is still a mommas girl! Lately she has also been opening her hands really wide and telling us that she loves us big much! (this much!). I will say to her I love you the most and she will reply I love you big much most! She is also into racing where ever we go (I honestly don't know where she gets this from). We have to race to the potty, to her bedroom, to the laundry room, etc and the problem is she has to win every time! There are times we are racing and I am first or the boys are and she starts throwing a fit and I have to say, "no we are not racing right now!" And it is amazing the tantrum stops just like that! If we are not racing then I have to count while she runs and does something. So lately she has started counting to 10 all by herself. She also loves saying the prayer. We have set up a thing where we just go in order of our family for each prayer that we say, but most often we have to say two because she has to say one. She really tries to talk like a big girl in saying her prayers. The most important thing that she always has to say and we also have to say it or she gets upset after the prayer (it doesn't matter if it is Sunday or Wednesday) we have to say we are thankful that we went to Church! She started wearing panties on November 18, 2008 and has only had 4 accidents. Right now we are going without pull ups to bed, so we will see how that goes. I think one reason why she has done so well is she is a pleaser. At first I would tell her no peeing in your panties so every time (probably during the first 6 weeks) when we would be putting on her panties she would so no pee panties! About a month ago we showed her how she could put a stool by the toilet and go potty, but she is now just trying to get on all by herself, no help from us, and no help from the stool. For about a month she always was fighting to sit in her carseat because she wanted to sit in back with Bubba Aldek. I was so reluctant in moving her back because I just felt like that was a pretty good sign she was really big. Well I finally gave in, but the rule is she has to go straight to the back without fighting to sit in her seat or she has to be moved back up front. Well we have been doing this for about 10 days and let me just tell you that we have had NO fights about what she should be doing. So I think it is offical she is big!!! We are still loving her curly hair (something I honestly never imagined my little girl would have). We found out last week while talking with my Grandma Carlson that my Grandma and her sisters have curly hair. Well my Grandma lost her curly hair when she was really sick as a little girl. But I think we found out where it is coming from! It just amazes me how we can go through out the day and have the curls get tighter and tighter as the hours go by!

We love this little girl so much! She brings so much joy and happiness into our lives. She keeps us all on our toes while she talks all day long, but we love it! For those of you who know Carson well, know he isn't the biggest talker. Well he says it is my fault that we have three kids that talk a lot, but he is pretty okay with it because he has learned to talk a lot more because he can see how much closer it makes his relationship with his kids. Carson even tried to paint Olivia's fingernails and toenails the other night while I was at work. He got a little chair for her to sit on and a stool for him to sit on, but she freaked out I said mommy does it. So the next day she went and got the chair, stool, and fingernail polish for me to do. She must have thought her dad had a pretty good idea with the chair and stool, but didn't think he was cool enough to paint her toenails.

I am so grateful for each on of my children's personalities, they bring so many different aspects of life into our home. I honestly feel like I am one lucky wife and mommy!

{Things that I am remembering about Olivia, that I just don't want to forget!}

*She loves purses or anything that resembles a purse (gift bag, a box with a string, etc)

*Her daddy has nicknamed her his little Stink Bug!

Olivia we love you so much!!!!

I spoke to soon....

Last Thursday I was talking to my Grandma Carlson and I was telling her that we have had a few colds, but no fevers or anything that needs the Doctor to look us over. Well I spoke too soon for that one.... All through the night Olivia fevered and then when she woke up the first thing she said to me was, "mom, my ears hurt!" Well she has never been old enough to tell me that her ears hurt so I knew that she had ear infections. Later that morning I took her to the Doctor where they told me she had two bad ear infections and lots of lumps and bumps in her glands. She had a nasty cough, but it was more in her chest not in her lungs. So he treated her for the ears, sinus, and red throat, but couldn't treat her for the virus she also had. He told me that we had to watch and make sure she didn't get a fever over 102 because if she did that she could be coming down with something else. Well sure enough while I was a work that night Carson called to tell me that she had a fever of 104.4 and after 45 minutes, medicine, and a tub he got it down to 102.5. I came home from work early were we decided I would take her over to the hospital in Logan to get checked out. Once we got there her fever spiked back up to 104. The nurse said we need to strip her down to her diaper, Olivia looked very confused so I told the nurse she wears panties not diapers. They were very shocked that she was so little and didn't need diapers! They were very concerned about that so they gave her more medicine, Popsicles, and checked her for RSV. Luckily it didn't turn into RSV, so they just watched her for awhile to make sure her fever didn't spike again. We are now on the mend and very happy that she no longer fights us with taking medicine!

Oh on more exciting news,she has gone two weeks with a dry pull up at night so we are trying it out tonight. Oh please no accident tonight!!!

Our Crazy Olivia....

{Feb. 16, 2009}

Olivia was able to go to dinner with my parents, Molly, and Ryan a couple of weeks ago. She had a great time with some much attention on her. My parents didn't tell Ryan that she was coming so we he saw her he was very happy to see her. When she got home she was being so funny, I guess when you have so many hours were all attention is on you that is what happens to you. But when my dad brought her to the door this is what she looked like. She was showing off how not to wear your baby legs!!! What a silly girl. Thanks guys for spoiling her rotten, she loved it!

Look at how silly she is being....

Olivia with her Bubba Aldik!

Have I mentioned how much she loves her Huts?!!!

Valentines 2009....

As every Valentines comes around we become very crazy in our lives! This year at this first of the week we watched Kate (our niece she belongs to Nicklaus and Nicole) for two nights and two days. I kind of forgot how it is to get up in the middle of the night with babies, lucky for us she only got up one time both nights! The kids really enjoyed having her around, Marcus asked Carson if we could just keep her. He was pretty sure that Nicklaus and Nicole wouldn't mind! Carson worked many hours, so we didn't see him too much! During that week I also was able to go on my Walmart shopping trip with one of my good friends. I know it sounds weird that we enjoy it so much, but honestly it is great! We go once the kids are in bed and we just talk and talk and talk! Once the weekend came is when I became really busy as well at work, but it was nice that by that time Carson was slowing down. I love Valentines for the simple fact that it is a low key holiday that you can make special for your kids, but it is always a crazy holiday to have it be a "romantic" holiday for us. So as for now our Valentine holiday is for sure made very special for our kids!
This year when I got home from work Carson and I got the kids' presents ready. We made a rose petal trail from the bedrooms to the family room where they could find all of there things. Alec was the first person to wake up, he was so excited! When Marcus woke up I could here him telling Alec, wow this is just like Christmas (not really but we will let them think what they want to!). Olivia just that it was great and as really enjoyed her movie!!! That night for dinner Carson and the kids had a heart pizza, they thought it was awesome!
The next day we were able to go celebrate my Grandpa Simmons' birthday with my Simmons family. We had a wonderful time being able to visit with everyone, we just don't see those guys often enough! All three of the kids had so much fun running around playing with all of the cousins, it is honestly amazing that Olivia is big enough to run around with the rest of the kids!We hope you guys all enjoyed your Valentines Holiday. Our little family couldn't have had a better one, it was great!

Draper Temple {January 31, 2009}

Back in January we were able to go down with my whole family to the Draper Temple Open House. What a wonderful day it was! We all (all 15 of us) met at Jaime and Jayson's house and then drove to the church and started our tour. It did take us 3 hours, but the kids all did a good job, and it was just something that was so special to do with my family. It gave you a small glimpse of how wonderful it will be when my kids our able to go to the Temple with us. My kids loved all of the paintings and the cool light fixtures. I don't know if they realized how lucky they were to be able to go into the temple, but when you saw them realize all of the "pretty" things in the Temple you know that they realized it is a very special place to be. After going through the Temple my parents treated us all to dinner. It was so fun being with family, I know my kids enjoyed being with their cousins! Since going through the Temple when ever we talk about a Temple, Olivia will say, "me Temple with Abbi!"
So I didn't get too many pictures. We are dropped off at one end of the parking lot where we walk through all of these tents and then after going through the temple we go through another set of tents to a Church for some refreshments. By the time we were done the kids were pretty much done and didn't want to walk around to stand in front of the temple, so here are the pictures that we did get....!

Enjoying our Neighbors...

Alec "Batman", Marcus "Batman", Maci "Bat"Women"", Olivia "Hulk"
We live in a great neighborhood with quite a few kids in it. Just down the street from us are two cute little girls, the oldest one will be 4 this May. Well she is just starting to venture out and realize how fun the neighbor kids are. During on of the first snowfalls that we had this year a bunch of the kids went to one of the neighbors drive way that has quite a slope on it to go sledding, well while they were there little Maci wanted to go out and play. My boys really enjoying playing with her and "taking" care of her. After that day she has just thought the boys are great, she has brought them pictures and even brought them a Valentine. She is just a cutie! Well one day we were just hanging out so we had her come down and play with us. I think she really enjoyed herself and I know that all three of my kids enjoyed themselves (Olivia thinks it is great when there are other little girls at our house). Maci, we hope you come play lots with us, we have lots of fun with you! *on a side note when her Mom came to pick her up, Carson sent her with some salad that I had made for dinner that night. A couple of days later she brought us a yummy treat, that Carson just thinks is the greatest. He said that we should take them food more often, so we can get yummy treats more often!!!!*

Visiting With Grandma Allen

Back in January Carson's family put his Grandma Allen in the nursing home here in town. It is sad to see her getting older and changing from what Carson can remember as a little boy and even for myself knowing her during the past 13 years. She is one of the sweetest people you will ever have a chance of getting to know.

We have enjoyed being able to go visit her though! The kids do a lot of starring while we are out there and have a lot of questions about everyone that we see, but they enjoy themselves. I am just trying to teach them how they can just run out the door, it is quite embarrassing when the door alarm goes off.

We love you Grandma Allen and we are still enjoying the time that we get to spend with you!

February Family Moments 2009

Alec the "Baker". One day at school they made little Baker hats and a loaf of bread. He was so cute and so proud of his bread. Now last year Marcus left one little tiny crumb for Carson, but Alec was nice enough to leave all of us a slice and then he ate the rest. Alec, my little Baker you did a great job making your bread. I loved today picking you up from school seeing that smile from ear to ear was the best!You can't see very well, but Olivia was very determined to put her coat on all by herself after her dad's basketball game. The hood is a the bottom, but she couldn't have been more proud! I also loved this picture because look what a good Daddy Carson is carrying out Olivia's baby in her carseat!

February 1 was the Superbowl. What a fun night we had. Half of the night Marcus spent it over with Nana, Papa, and Molly. The last five minutes our house was a very loud house cheering for the Arizona Cardinals. The best part I think was making smores after the game was over. Olivia was not to sure about the marshmellows starting on fire, but other then that we had a wonderful time enjoying a very yummy treat!

One night we went to Dinner at Wingers. It is so nice that you guys go to dinner and actually eat, it is starting to get really fun to take you out to dinner. After we ate we had to go do some shopping at Wlamart, which could always be an adventure with hearing I want this over and over! Of course we went back to look at toys and Olivia was loving all the babies. When we weren't looking she was throwing all the babies in the cart. Alec found a bike that he is pretty sure that if he got it he would love riding a bike, of course it had spider man on it, but we are thinking what ever would work would be great! Marcus was enjoying teasing Olivia throughout the store, but Olivia was very good at sticking up for herself and telling Martus that he is wude! During the day Alec was showing me how he wants Batman wings for his birthday, well right there on the clearence isle was the batman wings that he wanted so bad. I think that was the hardest thing fo him to understand of why we couldn't buy it right then. Olivia kept telling him ,"bub, that's to much!"

One day was our big shopping day. Now we haven't had one of these for quite awhile, so I was quite nervous to see what the day would bring. Now you kids of mine that I love dearly were not perfect by all means, but we lived through it quite well and you guys even said it was "fun" at the end of the night. I only had to threaten 1 time that if it happened again I would leave you at that isle and 1 time that I might have to leave you on the side of the road! I realized though what good kids I have and how fast you guys are all growing up. Olivia thinks she needs to walk through all the stores, which overall she does pretty good. Marcus thinks that he needs to push the cart and for most of the time it is a great help. And Alec wishes he could be big enough to push the cart, but he is a great helper and it doesn't get any better then walking through the store being able to hold his hand. I am so proud of my kids! Days like to today, even though they are long and tiring, makes me realize why I love being a mom so much. Thanks guys for sticking today out. When asking Marcus what it meant to go shopping all day means he said, "a full fridge and pantry!" When Alec talked to his dad about it he said, "we went to lots and lots of stores"!
{once again I enjoyed asking the kids these questions, it is fun to see what answers stay the same and what answers change}

Funny Things...

Marcus....

Today in Sacrament Meeting we had about 50 minutes left. Marcus looked at me and said, "Mom, is this almost over? I mean it is "Fast" Sunday!!!!

Alec.....

In Primary Today the kids were supposed to write what their talent was. Carson asked Alec what his talent was and he replied, "Being a Superhero!"- That's right bud being a super hero is hard work!

Olivia....

We ask her often, what is your name? She replies, "Ea Daun". And sometimes after watching Olivia the Pig show she will say, "O-ea"!
