Big Girl Car Seat

So this weekend wasn't to eventful, but enjoyable! The biggest thing that happened this weekend was we moved Olivia into a big girl car seat. I do realize she has over a month to go until she is one and she hasn't quite hit the weight limit, but I am tired of the fight of getting her into her car seat. On Tuesday and Thursday when we run around all day by the end of the day you just have to open her door and she starts shaking her head. So far so good, I think she thinks she is pretty hot stuff turned around seeing the world. My question to you is-do you think I am crazy for feeling a little sad that she is big enough to ride in a big girl car seat. I still so vividly remember my to-do list for Carson last year-put the baby car seat into the van. What happened to the last year? It is that bitter-sweet feeling, you are exciting to see them grow and to do all of the "firsts" that are still to come, but my new born baby that it seems just like yesterday is big! On top of all of that I am getting ready for my Marcus' 5th birthday! We won't even start with were the time has gone with him.

Other then that life is good. I am hoping that this week I can start feeling 100%. I'm telling you moms should never get sick like I did, that should for sure be in a rule book some where. This upcoming week will be preparing for Marcus' big day and our fun annual Park City trip with my family. Not that I want to rush time by, but I do hope Friday comes quickly for us to be on the road headed for a weekend of relaxing and lots of fun and laughs! So long September....Welcome good old spooky October!

Alec at Preschool

Alec's cute preschool teacher took this picture of his class. He doesn't remember every ones names yet, but he is doing a pretty good job. Today when I picked him up from school Miss. Nicole told me when she has him who he wanted to be his Preschool Pals he is Kaydence (Jenni Chirstensen Olsen's little girl) and Miss Nicole said one of the little boys names. Alec said, "no I think I like the girls" and then pointed to another little girl. I told Nicole he is his father's son- a girl chaser!!! Miss Nicole had to agree since my cute husband did go after her and her two sisters once upon a time!!!!

I have to be honest...

So I have realized throughout my blog that in some ways I feel like I have lost my identity in a way... When I was choosing music I sat there forever thinking, What in the heck do I like to listen to? Truly the only things I seem to listen to is High School Musical, Kids Bop, Wiggles, etc. So for a couple of days I would tell Carson how depressing, do I even know who I am. He reminded me there is a time and a season for everything and right now all I do listen to is kids music, but later I will find what music I like again. So I got over that, I just have my sister Molly put songs on for me.
And then I got tagged... Once again I thought how easy, this will be kind of fun. Very quickly I realized I don't watch movies, I don't even think about what movies I would like to watch, I don't read books unless they are about ten pages and have pictures!
Hopefully my kids will always realize how much I love them and how much a mothers life changes to adapt to her child's. And maybe throughout the world of blogging and being able to keep in touch with people better I may realize some things that I enjoy as "Courtney"!

SLC Real!

Saturday when Carson and I where done we met my parents to pick up the kids so we could take them to go to the Salt Real game. After we picked up the kids we went and washed the van (at the time there was clear skies). When we started to head down to SL it started to rain, so I told Marcus we shouldn't have washed the car, because it always seems when you wash the car or your house windows it will rain afterward. Once we got down to SL it stopped raining, so we enjoyed ourselves riding the train to the game and walking around getting the kids their little soccer balls. Well once we sat down (we had the best seats ever 3 row in the center of the field) it started to poor rain!!!! We made it about 25 minutes before we headed up to the top to get out of the rain. As we sat there for a minute, until they scored and the rain was not letting up we decided it was time to head back home! On our way back to the train Carson told the boys we will come again next year and hopefully it won't be raining, Marcus said we just won't wash our car before the game next time!!!

Even though we didn't last long, I hope the kids will always remember that we do try and have fun with it!

What? Mommy and Big Daddy get to go have FUN?!!!

One thing Carson and I have always tried to do is go away for our anniversary. Well this last year a couple of days before our anniversary Olivia was ambulanced down to Primary Children's, so while we were in the hospital for a couple of days I told Carson this year this is as romantic as our anniversary is going to to get! So this past Mothers Day my romantic husband gave me a night stay and massage at Sherwood Hills to make up for it. Well this is the first weekend I dared try and leave Olivia overnight and so we went and had a very nice and relaxing evening with each other. When we told the boys, Marcus said, "why do you guys get to go on a vacation and we just get to stay home!" After we explained mommies and daddies sometimes need to go stay by ourselves he was a little bit more understanding.

The boys had a great sleep over with Papa while Olivia kept Nana up almost the whole night mad that she was not equipped with the same stuff I am!!! Carson told my mom, you are equipped with the same stuff, it is just out of order!!! (I'm telling you Carson thinks up the funniest things).

On Friday before we went for our massage Carson and I went outside to look for deer-we got to see a little more, we saw a moose and it's baby! We also about 6 deer, it is so pretty up there. So when we saw the moose I wanted to get a little closer to see if I could get a picture (it was to dark though) so we were standing behind this rock wall looking at it and I told Carson common lets get closer, he told me Courtney the moose will charge us especially because it is with it's baby. So there we are some what close to this moose in my flip flops and it looks at us and starts to move. Carson took off running it's coming! There I am running through weeds (in flip flops remember) thinking the headline of tomorrow's paper is "3 Children are Parent less after they were Charged by Moose!" Well as you can tell we are alive and we laugh now, but I'm sure it was quite the sight!!!
Saturday, Carson and I went golfing. Well Carson went golfing and I drove the cart. It was so fun going and watching Carson do something that he enjoys so much, he is a great golfer!

My Little School Boys

This is Marcus getting ready for school, today was the color "yellow". Every Thursday it is a color day so they can wear that certain color for the day. He loves school!
This is Alec getting ready to take in his first homework assignment. We had to make a little boy to resemble Alec and then tell about him. How do you think we did?

I am a Human Pacifier!

So I thought I would post this as we get going this morning so this thought of frustration is still very fresh on my mind! So I will take you back five years with Marcus.... Marcus loved his Binky! He never wanted to get rid of it. Alec wasn't to sure about one, but through time of buying every type of Binky out there and convincing him that he would want one he started to love his. After one day of shopping and the Binky's falling and them crying when Carson and I would tell them to put them away (yes Marcus was 3 years and 4 months old and Alec was 20 months old) we decided we would have a party and go dig a hole in the snow and put them there, it turned out great. I realized they had them so long partly to make my life a little easier! And then Olivia was born.... From day one she was not sure at all about the sucking on a Binky. I wanted her to have one because when we were at church or something I wanted something to keep her a little quite, but she had different plans. So after a couple of weeks I came to the realization that she was only going to suck on those not so cute soothie Binky's, we actually went up to the hospital and bought a ton of them. But after a couple of weeks of that once again she had a different plan. By that time I realized what a good baby she was and she never really fussed and she was a good sleeper that I became okay with the idea. But now ten months later she is a horrible sleeper the last couple of weeks and the only thing she wants is me! So now we are on about day 12 with not much sleep wondering what am I doing wrong! Please help, any ideas about how I can get her to sleep and not want to have me be her human pacifier?!

I thought I would share with you....

So I have been going through photos so that I can hang them up in the kids room, so I thought I would share some with you. I know that I'm a little biased, but these are some cute kids!

This cute picture of the boys is on Alec's birthday, I hope that they will always be good little friends!

I love this picture of Olivia and I when she was almost a month old and she had to spend a couple of days at Primary Children's Hospital. I love when they are newborns and just love to sit there a be cuddled like that!

10 month old Temper Tantrums!

So today I put Olivia on my bathroom counter to do her hair and she started to play with my tooth brush(whatever it takes for her to hold still). So when I got done I needed to brush my teeth, she was holding on to it so tight and honestly had to pull so hard to get in out of her hands. So the first two pictures are showing you how sad she was and then the last one is Olivia thrilled as ever to be getting it back, so is so silly!

Prayers were answered....

Thank you everyone who prayed for my sister Jaime, our prayers were answered. She went to the Doctor and everything looked well. The tests came back well and she is healing well. The Doctor just told her she would get checked a lot of the next two years. Thanks again for every ones thoughts, we all appreciated!

Go Utes

So as you can tell we have been pretty boring around our house during the last week. It has been full of making salsa, jam, & applesauce. Running around getting the kids to there preschool, oh and I can't forget changing lots of dirty diapers and everything Olivia is touching at the time, she has some sort of bug. The most exciting thing is Carson won Utah football tickets last Thursday so it was Alec's turn to go to a game so Saturday the two of them headed to SL to go cheer on the Utes. Carson said Alec was an expensive date, he wanted lots of treats! Here is a little photo show of the two of them.

Olivia is 10 Months

I can hardly believe time has gone by so fast, but it has and so our little princess is already 10 months old. She is truly such a joy in our lives, we are so blessed to have this happy little girl in our family. The other day I was doing the dishes and the kids were playing and we looked over at Olivia and she managed to step into this little tote and sit down in it. She honestly has the silliest personality. We love our pretty princess way to much!

Lots of Prayers needed..

My sister Jaime a couple of weeks ago had some moles removed, well last week she received the unsettling news that one of them was melanoma and that she had another one that needed to have some more tissue cut out so they could tell better what was going on with that one. For many of you that know Jaime well, know that she has what we call the Simmons fake and freaks out over pain, sickness, etc. Well we need to give Jaime lots of praise because she held it together more then the rest of us. Everyday when I would call her she said I am fine, I know it is going to be okay. Well today she went and met with oncologist (spelling) and on Friday she will go and have surgery to cut our more tissue. She has a 20% chance that it has spread and 80% chance that it has not.
You may wonder why I am blogging about this, so here it goes. Many of you know her so please keep her in your prayers this week. As helpless as I feel, I know that is what we need to do for her. We need my big sis around for many, many more years to come! Also I am realizing the importance in getting your moles checked. If you search on line you will find a list of who by hair color/eye color are more likely then others, but still get checked! Also most importantly don't forget that sunscreen! Since having my kids I have realized how well sunscreen really works. I will rub my kids down every 30 minutes when we are out side and they still get a nice tan, so don't forget that sun screen!

Christmas in the Summer!

I just thought I would update you with our non exciting weekend. Since we have moved into our new home I think that we have become even more home bodies before, but that is what we love doing. So on Labor Day Carson was "the man" and emptied our storage shed all by himself. He thought that was more tiring then moving from the apartment to here, I told him probably because he did this by himself. Anyway Saturday we got around to unpacking the boxes ( I had Carson's full attention until 4:30 when the BYU game started!). We told the kids it is like Christmas in the summer because a lot of stuff has been in storage for a couple of years because we didn't' have room for it in the apartment. We even have found some toys that Olivia loves. There is this toy that you stand behind and you push it, well she loves it. She cruises around the house thinking she is pretty hot stuff! She has also started to clap and she will hold a phone up to her ear and started to babble- I wonder where she got that from?! The boys are great they are just wondering everyday when it is a school day again. I hope everyone is doing well, have a good day!

Motherhood....

As I went throughout today with both my boys in school I had plenty of time to think about motherhood. I remember bringing Marcus home from the hospital and I had a little panic attack thinking that I was always and forever going to be a mom, that thought is kind of scary. As crazy as it sounds I also remember thinking what if I get too tired, what do I do then. Well believe me in the last five short years of my life I have gotten tired and motherhood never stops, but somehow I can keep on going. It scares me as Marcus is almost ready to turn 5 that I may not be an adequate mom-all these what ifs start going through my mind-what if I don't teach him enough, what if he doesn't trust to tell me things, etc... Then I remember how lucky I am to have the gospel in my life to help guide me through it. I pray each and everyday for strength and guidance to help me through this. Hopefully with faith we will be able to do it and in 30 years my children will be having these same worries and same feeling of loving their own children, that they will take the path that will lead them to the happiness that I feel each and everyday. (Don't get me wrong motherhood gets hard, frustrating, stressful, and some days wondering can I really make it through another day!) I wish my boys lots of luck in this next year. I look forwarding to seeing their growth in school and watching them meet new friends!

Marcus Carson starts his last year of preschool...

So Marcus started preschool today, I can hardly believe this is his last year of preschool before he starts kindergarten. Time honestly flies by. This year he is going to a new teacher and so far seems to be great. Today was the color red so he wore something that has red in it. Everyday is sharing time so today he took his tiger from build-a-bear "Cars". He is such a cute little guy. He loves to learn and make crafts and that kind of stuff. I got him this big wipe off book where he can draw pictures, write his letters, and his numbers- he loves it, he will sit at the table for hours writing in it. How lucky we are for Marcus' little sweet personality in our home. He is such a great big brother, boy do we love him!

Alec Mason Going to Preschool...

Alec started school the other day. I honestly can not believe he is getting so big. He loved going and looks forward to going each day. He is so cute when he gets out of school and tells me about his day. The first day that I went and picked him he told me that he had fun, but it was sure a long time that he was at school! For so long he has been my little buddy always home with me, so it feels so strange not having him around. But I believe he loves the independence so you have to be happy for him. I am so proud of our little Alec, I am so happy that after three years he finally feels safe not being with me & Carson. We love our Alec way too much!

Princess Olivia Daun

Olivia is getting so big! Next week she will be ten months, I can't believe it. She is almost getting her second tooth, but she is a bear when she is trying to cut it. I don't think I have slept much this week because it is always waking her up. She thinks she is really big because she will let go of things and stand on her own. Every time we do it we clap really loud so know when she does it she gets this look on her face like hurry look at me I am so big! She is such a blessing in our lives. Her little smile brightens our day!

My little helper

Olivia tries every time I am doing the dishes to help by taking everything out, little does she know it takes me twice as long! Today was a little faster though because I didn't have Hudson (our dog) trying to help also.

Nana's Hawaiian Party

Carson and I really dreaming that we were in Hawaii
Papa and Nana's six precious grand kids

I love my three cute babies way to much!
Me and Molly riding my uncle Steve's go kart (I think that is what it is)
So this weekend my mom turned 52 so we had a Hawaiian Party for her. She loves having parties because she knows that the four little guys just get into it. So this time my mom also invited my grandma Carlson, her brother Steve and his family-my aunt Laureen and cousins Jake, Nick, and Zac, also her really good friend Dawn and her daughter Breanne. We had quite the party! We ate lots of good food and the kids played lots of games. Oh and lets not forget the pre party last night we the kids and oh yes Jaime did Karaoke. They all really got into including the biggest kid of all Jaime! I honestly could not stop laughing at her. It was nice to get together and celebrate my mom's birthday. She thinks the 50's is great!

Our Two Favorite Girls in the World!

This weekend the Argyle family came up to Tremonton to help celebrate my mom's 52 birthday (she is very proud to be 52 by the way!) so the little kids have had a lot of fun. The boys love to play super hero and whatever they can think of that is a lot of loud voices, laughing, and running! My mom did get the Planet Earth movies for her birthday because she is into teaching them about the earth. Next it will be Political Movies because she loves teaching the kids about all that stuff. People got the biggest kick out of Marcus when he was two and he knew who the President of the United States was! I think my nephew at four new more about all that then myself actually. Go for it mom, teach them what you can!!!! While the boys are busy running around we had fun watching the two little baby girls finally start to have interest in each other, it is so cute! I think this is the beginning of them being little friends. I keep wondering how busy the two of them are going to be when we go up to Park City next month! Anyway here is a little photoshow of the two cute babies! They look very different, but both very darling. It is weird looking at them because they both resemble mine and my sister Jaimes baby pictures. I guess maybe after three kids it is my turn to have a mini me!!! Enjoy

Pig Tails!

Olivia can wear little pig tails now! Her little hair is starting to get a little long, but I'm afraid if I cut it the curls will go away, so we may be doing a lot of pig tails!
